SwimGuru: what do users think?

Nicholas Postiglione: I decided to bite the bullet and go all in on Swim Guru. I wish we did this sooner - it is absolutely worth the cost and effort. My kid was terrified of the pool but in 4 weeks of intense 15 minute lessons he is diving under water and doesn't want to get out of the water. Molly and team have a phenomenal program. This isn't high schoolers leading a swim class in their free time. These are professionals who truly know what they are doing and teach kids to respect the water and the danger it presents. To sum it up - you can spend a year at the YMCA floating your kid around the pool and pretending they are learning something or you can do Swim Guru and actually teach your kids how to survive in the water within a few weeks.

Lindsay S: Our 3-year-old daughter went from being terrified of the water to safely swimming. We've worked with both Molly and Hilary as coaches. They are excellent at what they do and artfully balance building confidence and helping kids work through new/uncomfortable experiences in the water.

Vishal Sethia: , and I can confidently say that she's absolutely exceptional. Stef embodies patience and encouragement like no other. She possesses the remarkable ability to understand precisely where you are in your swimming journey and meets you there, making every lesson feel tailor-made.Stef's motivation is truly infectious, driving you to give your best. What sets her apart is the homework she assigns, which proved instrumental in helping me improve significantly. Her teaching style is remarkable, as she breaks down techniques into easily digestible morsels, ensuring you not only understand but can execute them in the water. One thing you can always count on with Stef is her warm smile, which welcomes you every session and immediately puts you at ease. Thanks to her unwavering support and guidance, I went from having a fear of the water on day one to confidently swimming on my own in just eight classes. At 35 years old, it's an accomplishment I never thought possible, and I owe it all to Stef's expertise and encouragement. She's an absolute gem of a swim coach, and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking to embark on their own aquatic journey.I would also like to thank SwimGuru that made it possible for me to connect with an excellent swim coach and schedule my sessions based on my availability and comfort.

Christopher Sanford: Brenda was an excellent teacher of me as an adult learner. She was patient, positive, pragmatic.August 2023. Just had four lessons--with Hillary, Brenday, Nick. All were helpful, supportive, constructive.

Hana Cho: Just had our first lesson with Hillary. It was wonderful. Little is afraid of her head going into the water but Hillary was so calm and soothing and the first 15 minute lesson was hard but daughter came out being proud she dunked her head in 5 times. Every kid is different but we feel we needed this method for our pandemic kid as we weren't equipped to teach her ourselves and we are so happy with Hillary. Yes, 15 minute lessons are annoying to drive to and from, but I do see how that delivers the max amount of exertion and mental capacity for my kid. Looking forward to the other lessons. Money very well spent!

Eric Stobin: Helen and Emma are excellent swim instructors! It has been so exciting to see my 4 and 6 year old learn how to swim in just a few classes. The instructors, Helen and Emma, are absolutely wonderful. they both are excellent with their communication skills and are able to keep both boys calm when they are scared or are about to cry. both Coach Helen and Coach Emma have a gift for teaching swimming. It feels like a great investment since we feel it is important to teach water safety at a very young age. both boys can float and swim and attend classes at LA Fitness or Underwater Sports, both places very close to each other on Hwy 99. again, I am extremely impressed with their ability, skills and professionalism to provide quality instruction to our kids. Our kids now love both coaches and look forward to swim class twice a week. we are extremely happy with Swim Guru and feel very lucky to have found such excellent instructors who are great at teaching kids the basics of swimming and floating. It's money well spent and we are extremely happy at Swim Guru.

Candice Boley: take 1:1 lessons at Swim Guru since spring 2021, mostly at Underwater Sports, and also the N Seattle LA Fitness

Rory McAuley: Swim Guru has been a great experience for us and our kids! They are 6 and 9 years old and have made so much progress with their coaches Tiegan and Emma at the Mukilteo location. They have developed positive attitudes toward swimming, improved their skills, and are now able to be safe and confident in the water.

Sandy Tseng: Swim Guru is one of those places that one feels happy to discover and lucky that a place like this exists in the area. Living in a city like Seattle, surrounded by water, my husband and I wanted our kids to learn to swim at a young age. Our son's preschool frequents Green Lake, and it gives us peace of mind to know that he has survival swimming skills. He started taking classes in October 2017, and before the holidays, he had already passed a clothing test. Previously, he was terrified of putting his head underwater, and now he is almost ready to snorkel with us in a few weeks! Earlier this month, he went through a brief period of regression when he was suddenly fearful of swimming one day out of the blue. Coach Carol and Coach Brenda did everything in their knowledge and power to address his fear immediately before it became the new normal. Efforts were made to make swimming fun again by bringing toys back into the picture. They stopped working on new skills and went back to basics. They had me get into the pool with him. Since he connected most with Coach Brenda, arrangements were made for him to have Coach Brenda each time he was scheduled for a lesson. I never even requested the switch, and I don't know if anyone was inconvenienced as a result, but it really helped to have consistency during his struggles. Swim Guru went out of their way for my son to have a positive experience again. It was just over and beyond my expectations, and their dedication to their cause makes their swim program exceptional. Moreover, in my observation, what is just as impressive as their ability to teach swimming skills is the coaches' understanding of a child and his emotional needs. None of my son's cries or fears were dismissed. Brenda kept talking him through it and somehow won him back to enjoy swimming again in less than two weeks. Who can understand the mind of a three-year-old who swims like a fish for months and then cries and declares he doesn't want to swim the next day? Not me, the parent, but apparently the coaches at Swim Guru can. They were so understanding and patient with him in building his confidence back. They even had suggestions about what we could do outside of lessons. These coaches are highly trained and experienced professionals who have gone through rigorous and extensive training. They are not college students working part-time. I'm grateful to the whole amazing team of coaches for their dedication, patience and gentle firmness in their teaching. As a mom who swam competitively in a past life and holds a deep love and regard for the ocean, I've always wanted to share my love of swimming with my son. Now thanks to Swim Guru, I can see that dream becoming a possibility! I would give Swim Guru my highest recommendation without reservation for anyone who is considering swim lessons.

McKenzie Brickl: Amazing - teaches kids safety first, then technique. We are so impressed by everything our girls have learned in a short period of time.

Yuzo Watanabe: Both of our kids learned how to swim quickly with Coach Carol and Kat. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it.

Safe N Sound Swimming: what do users think?

Glady Torres: Such a great family run business! Love supporting them! A great place to learn to swim with views of south lake Union!

elvira castillo: Wonderful instructors. My daughters have loved learning here and I’m amazed by their progress in a short period of time.

Anna Artamonova: It was a really fun experience. I got my lifeguarding certification, and the instructors taught us everything really well and efficiently. Sam was a very informative instructor, and Brian was very helpful during the pool section of the lessons. I learned a lot, and I am very grateful to the staff for teaching us and helping to get my certification!

Jesse Dannenbring: They have done great work helping our child get over their swimming fears, and built up their confidence in the water!

Alicia Lee: 1:1 lesson is really the way to go for kids to learn how to swim. I have 3 boys learning how to swim currently and I love their established curriculum as well as all their instructors who are all very good with kids and teaching them how to swim. I also appreciate their transparent scheduling system and very organized manner that the whole program is ran which can only result from staff who are dedicated and experienced in the business. I plan on getting the boys in the program until they are "swim team ready".

Jenn Lin: The pool is great, just the right temperature. The staff are friendly and helpful. We always have a great time!

Bethany Smoltz: We are so grateful S&S is open during this crazy time. Having a safe, healthy outlet for my son has been truly wonderful. The instructors are amazing. They seem to provide the right level of encouragement to help my son achieve his goals. It's been fun to watch his progression and overall water confidence grow.

C C: Precise individualized instruction and a positive environment.

Waterbabies Aquatic Program: what do users think?

RILEY BARKER: Would definitely recommend coming here for infant swim lessons. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. It’s a far drive for us and I wish there were more locations, however, it’s worth the drive. The pool is a little deep which is hard for shorter people like myself when doing parent-baby lessons.

Trevor Price: Great place to bring the kids for learning and getting comfortable in the water. There experienced team members have been helping my family for the last 2 years. I can't thank them enough for all the help they have done for my children. My almost 3 year old is almost swimming and comfortable in the water. Thank you for all the help over the years we appreciate you very much !!!

Gabby Ng: My daughter has been going here since she was 6 months old and she is just a little over two. The teachers here are great and we've had quite a few since they do switch around. The facilities are great and warm which is perfect for little ones. Would highly recommend

Joe Chan: .

Claire Kim: Majaeh loves babies and teaches them with a smile. She is good teacher.

Dawn Trybjorn: Im an instructor here and I adore this program. It combines the science of babies and their developmental stages to teach water safety and swimming.

Tim Diediker: in swim classes with Chelsie for about 3 months now. Waterbabies and Chelsie have been fantastic and we totally recommend them.

Ross Hardy: Fantastic work from the instructors. Work with kids of all ages and levels. No wonder there is a waitlist. Get on it now.

Mackenzie Powell: I love it, I wish it could be an hour. My baby sleeps great after this class and I feel like we are both learning essential water safety

Chelsea Guenevere: My son had a great time, nice warm pool and great teacher

Koren Colacurcio: Our daughter is 4, she will be 5 in a few months. She has been to two other swimming lessons. This one is THE BEST!! Her instructor is Haley. I can’t tell you just how great she is with my daughter. She was able to win my daughters trust almost instantly. Although the class is only 20 mins, she has made leaps and bounds in 2 sessions because my daughter not only enjoys the class, but trusts her instructor Haley. She was afraid to put her face in the water, and within one session my daughter couldn’t wait to show off her new skills! We absolutely love this place, and am so grateful to have the experiences we have here.

Orca Swim School: what do users think?

Patrice Robinson: Not the typical swim class. It was guided mindfulness while engaging with water. Fun, educational and empowering. In the end we all became swimmers!! Amazing!

Steve S: When I was a child I had some traumatic experiences where I nearly drowned. I would get into water whether a lake or a pool, or even the ocean but only in the shallows. I had to challenge that fear as I bought jet skis. After going through the instructions, classes and eventually actual pool, I am happy to tell you that I am now swimming in the deep end of the pool and diving! I intend to continue my training with Orca Swim school because this is the first time I have been utterly comfortable in trusting in order to challenge my fear. There is many options to help whether you are a complete novice to a semi experienced swimmer. In addition I met people who like me had issues similarly that I bonded with. This made me so much more comfortable to push myself beyond my mental boundary and challenge myself. I think for whoever does this it will be a fun and challenging experience that will make you proud of yourselves

Arnov Sinha: One of the best experience I had learning something. The style of teaching and learning is something I will take beyond just learning how to swim. The swimming lessons, aren't just, here are some movements now copy and swim. It's more focused on being calm in, and having neutral feelings about water. The rest come naturally after you learn how to be calm.Definitely recommend it to everyone!Jac and Becky were the best teachers ever! Tysm.

Samiya Mohamud: Completed the Foundations 1. Chris is an amazing instructor. I really enjoyed the focus on the mental part of swimming. The CON is the bathroom is built in outdoors shed with no sink to wash your hands. They just have hand sanitizer. This is gross & should be fixed.Overall great school to become a swimmer & love the water.

Manpreet Arora: Prior to this swim school, I have had lessons at other places too like 24 hour fitness. However, I have to say Orca technique is the best. What’s different - Swim is 80% mental, 20% physical. The talking sessions help you talk out your fears, prepare you for your swim, teach you your mental water boundaries. I worked with Margaret and she is so kind, receptive and an amazing coach! She would say - if a step is too much for you to do, I can break it down. She made was understand mental boundaries with water. I took a group class with 2 other students. The purpose I came to this course was to be comfortable in deep water, I knew front crawl already. And on last day, I was jumping in deep water. So, that was achieved! If you are beginner in swimming, I highly recommended this place. I wish I knew about this sooner. In earlier places that I was instructed, instructor would rarely come to pool. Here we spent 2 hours with instructor in pool and 1 hour for our talking sessions. This is well WORTH the price!Only thing I didn’t appreciate was I was really forced to invest in Foundations course and never told that Foundation don’t cover kicking no front crawl etc, which I found on last day with my instructor. Foundations 1 is about building confidence in water and doing paddles with arms so you swim, Foundations 2 is about kicking, then there are separate classes for Front Crawl. .Since I already knew swimming, that information would have been helpful to make right decision to choose private instructor Vs group sessions. In conclusion, if you are a beginner, look no further, invest here. They understand adult fears and have techniques to help you. And last, loved the swim journal - it’s one of a kind.

Peeyush Ranjan: I was not able to swim despite trying for 30 years. And in one long weekend I was able to go 10+ laps after being trained by Sterling. Have already advocated to friends/family!

Jaiganesh Prabhakaran: I highly recommend this class to anyone who is afraid of water. While the prices are on the higher end, it was a valuable learning experience.

Kwame Amoateng: For over 40 years, I had harbored a great fear of swimming. I couldn't go close to any pool, no matter how inviting they looked or how much fun my friends and relatives were having. All that changed when I discovered Orca Swim School for adults. The F1 class is specifically tailored for adults who have a fear of swimming. Amazing classes! After the F1 class, I am now confident in the water and I look forward to discovering new adventures in the pool. I highly recommend Orca Swim School.

novani munawar: I took a lot of swimming lessons before and still was not feeling comfortable with the deep water. Orca Swim classes helped me a lot to be way more confident in a deep water. Sterling was a great teacher, very patient and thorough with us in teaching the next step. Never thought swimming is very mental than physical. It's all about the relationship with the water first. It's honestly a life-changing moment for me. I would never see the water the same again... Thank you Orca!

krishna teja velagapudi: I took the foundations 1 class. The instructors are very knowledgeable and they made it very easy to learn the basics. Its a very good entry level course and I highly recommend it.

Alison Song: Great experience with the beginner foundations one course. Sterling was patient and helpful, having peers made learning more fun, and the pool was warm and comfortable. Amazed to have learned to swim in just a few days!

Silvania Torosian: The foundation 1 swimming classes was great! Helped me to learn how to swim and feel more comfortable in water.

Roosevelt Howard: Fantastic swimming lessons, if you are looking to learn how to swim at any age this is the place to come. You are in charge and the teachers go at your pace. Journaling after each lesson helps you grow and reach your goals. 5 stars I would give a 10 if I could.

Harish Govindarajan: I took the Foundations 1 course. It helped me create a renewed relationship with water. I loved how the course was structured not just to learn new skills but also change the mindset towards swimming. I learned a lot, and left with a lot of curiosity for a lot more. I highly recommend Orca Swim School, and am certainly going back for more courses.

Elaine Seike: I learned to be very comfortable in the pool with the instructors at Orca Seattle. They are very aware of your apprehension and will work you through it.I’m happy that there are more locations to choose from now. I find the pool very relaxing and will recommend Orca to everyone as the go to swim school!

Eilee Zhu: The foundation 1 course was great! Really helped me feel more comfortable and confident in water. Made me realize the importance of the mental aspect of swimming and swimming is 80% mental and 20% physical. If you are an adult wanting to learn how to swim or have a fear of water, this course is the way to go! Instructors were also great!

L. Monika Moskal: My daughter learned to swim at OSS and seeing her succeed gave me hope to reconnect with swimming as well. I took the Foundations 1 class, which surpassed my expectations and allowed me to gain a new perspective on my experiences in the water. Our instructor, Olivia, helped us learn what to expect and figure out ways that allowed us to find comfort in the water. I felt like each session helped us fine-tune skills in a way that worked for each of us, in fact I learned quite a bit from my classmates and their experiences too. So glad we found this swim school!

Fran Mason: The teacher slowly took us through playful practice drills until we felt completely comfortable with each one, then went on to the next. I have never before in a swim class been made to take as much time as I needed with every little detail. Doing so allowed me not to have anxiety with the next step, right up through being able to relax and breathe easily when in deep water, and able to spend several minutes in the deep end without wanting to touch the wall for a mental and physical rest. I had learned to rest in the water. I had never thought that was possible for me. I'm so glad I took this course and look forward to swimming in natural settings.

Little Fish Swim School: what do users think?

Jennifer Broder Allex: We recently moved to Seattle from San Francisco. Because of the pandemic, huge wait-lists for swim lessons, and juggling care of toddler twins, my 6 year old daughter not taken formal swim classes since she was very little. We have been so happy with our first 2 lessons at Little Fish!! My daughter is super shy. Lori and Jess were so gentle and patient with her. She now says that loves swimming, and can't wait for her next lesson!!

Dave Horn: These people teach me grandkids, and they are wonderful. The teachers, I mean. And obviously the grandkids as well. But, the teachers. Gentle, kind, and the kids really learn to be confident in the water. And under the water.

lindsey beadle: fall under hidden gem category: pools in people's backyards where you can take lessons

Jameison Snyder: 5 minutes from my house. Going to check it out.😎 Hollywood James reporting on Google maps community

Dusty Jewett: Our 5yo and 2yo love their lessons! I didn't think 15 minutes would be enough, but it's just right!

Matt Perrone: Little Fish is a local swim school that has a few locations, but this one is in Northgate. There are a few parking spots outside that you can't miss, along with lots of street parking. A few signs and a fish statue lead the way to the backyard of the house where the pool is. It's pretty well kept as it's under a greenhouse structure. They have a bathroom and changing room available right next to it. The staff here are super nice and try to keep the schedule on time. They definitely help kids get used to the water all the way up to practicing certain strokes or moves. Would highly recommend a few lessons here for young ones.

Alberto Lovo Rojas: Super fun

Mx Paolone: Family Swim Time with our three year old and the first time with our quarantine baby. Relaxing and so much fun.

Andrew Seidl: This place is absolutely delightful. It's a beautiful set up in a quiet neighborhood so expect less "YMCA" and more "nice little pool inside a comfortable enclosure surrounded by beautiful gardens". In these troubled times they are making the pool available for individual groups to use alone and hence safely, so we did not meet the staff. However, judging by their signage and arrangements for changing, etc, I expect they are very polite, considerate, and very concerned for their guests' safety. I haven't been swimming since before covid, and this was the best return to the water I could have hoped for.

Josie Zocco: Emily and her instructors give one-on-one swim lessons all year round in a safe, kind, and productive environment. My son has been taking lessons here for all nearly 2 years and he's learned basic strokes, breathing techniques, and most importantly the love of water and swimming! Emily and her team come highly recommended - 5 stars! Bonus: the pool is nice and warm!

Sheronita: We love little fish and my little fish couldn't be happier getting his lessons here. Since he is so comfortable in the water, having the lesson personalized to him makes it so much more effective. Emily and all her instructors do an awesome job.

Troy Edwards: The "bubble" at swim school keeps the lessons going in winter.

Goldfish Swim School - Redmond: what do users think?

Ally Tasker: Our son is afraid of the water but these teachers are encouraging, don’t push him to tears and very patient!

Delaney Couvrette-Merrick: Awesome swim school for littles! Great facilities and smoothly run program. Classes are fun and helpful.

Nila D: Excellent swim school. Excellent facilities, structured curriculum, small group sizes and well trained coaches, supervisors and lifeguards. Front desk staff is friendly and always willing to help. Both our kids love it here and have progressed well. Its a few months on the waiting list but well worth the wait. We are very happy with our experience here and highly recommend the school.

Karrie Cardiff: Highly recommend gold fish. They've gone out of there way to make my child more comfortable in the water. I have been so impressed with the staff. It's service and dedication I hardly ever see these days. I'm so impressed with them.

Katie Quiniola: and just felt like she wasn't improving. Goldfish has exponentially improved her skills. And for my youngest, unlike other parent/child swim lessons we've participated in where it's mostly just singing and playing, I feel that Goldfish is teaching her actual swimming and safety skills. I also appreciate how the instructors tell us why we're working on the skills they're teaching/how what we're doing is building water safety skills. Goldfish is a more expensive option than some other lessons, but well worth it in my experience for this critical life/safety skill.

Jonathan Harris: Very comfortable pool for children to learn how to swim. Nice warm pool, nice shower, good changing room. Teachers are engaged and active.

Arpitha Swamy: My kids love to go to their classes every week. Initially when we enrolled them in 2022, there were some issues, my kids were accidentally removed from the waitlist but they apologized for their mistake as it was a system error. And has been a great experience so far. Instructor Sean is one of the best, very caring and friendly to the kids

Caitlin Escobar: Wonderful place for kids to learn swimming. We have loved every instructor we've had here and both our daughters are confident swimmers thanks to Goldfish!

Queen Anne Pool: what do users think?

Harry: I have seen huge growth in myself since entering the water at Queen Anne Pool One year ago. The pool has transformed me from an awkward swimmer with very little skill to a 50 mile a month aquatic athlete. I greatly appreciate the amazing resource for fitness and health, including their wonderful sauna and the amazing staff all kind, helpful and willing people who really care and work hard to accommodate each and everyone’sNeeds, goals and safety

David Powell: Nice pool for lane swim

Rayna D: Good place

Paul Grandgeorge: Friendly staff and great pool to go do some laps!

Stephanie LaCasse: Get to take the kids swimming. They could use a swimming suit spinner, for drying out the suits when your done.

Chundong Wang: If they provided the hot shower, this would be 5 star! Great location, full size pool!

Geoff Nelson: A bit dated, but works fine for your lap swim. 25-yard pool, 6 lanes, 2 diving boards. Be sure to check the frequently-changing pool schedule before you go.Lessons are quite crowded and can be hit or miss depending on which instructor you child ends up with.

Jorge Vilches: Great staff, and a clean pool!

J.T. Altschull: Love this place. Been swimming here since it opened in 1977.

L L: Nice pool

Kayleah Wheless: Staff is great

Jacob Miner: Great place to bring your kids for swim lessons. They have classes for most age groups, and we started our girl at 10 months.

Seth Nguyen: Staff were super friendly, bathrooms were surprisingly clean which was a plus, shower water was hot and had soap, and the pool itself was pretty spacious with 2 diving boards, a rope, and floaties provided. The place comes with stuff to store small valuables for free and a larger locker for 25 cents, but felt safe enough to just leave my stuff on the bench next to everyone else's belongings. Both people and staff were respectful, and compared to other pools I've been to, the chlorine wasn't an issue/too strong so long as you rinsed before and after in the shower. All in all, a great first experience, surely coming back!
