Sean Cook: 10/10: I loved that this is a local company.I recently had Emerald City Chimney service my wood burning stove. After having a terrible experience with another company, it was a perfect experience with Emerald City Chimney. Starting with browsing their website I was able to see pictures of all of their technicians, which was helpful to know who was going to be showing up to my home. I had the pleasure of having Bruce assigned to take care of my chimney. Bruce did a fantastic job of listening to my concerns, walking me through what he was seeing and covering options with me around what was needed and what should be done when. After he was finished with the sweeping and inspection, he throughly cleaned the area leaving it in immaculate condition. He also took the time to walk me through the billing and what the process looked like. All in all this was a fantastic experience and I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Emerald City Chimney and Bruce to anyone looking to have their Chimney serviced. THANK YOU BRUCE and ECC!

Rick A: Great place I have used for over a decade. They have always been honest with me and done good work for a good price. I mostly see Bruce and he is a good guy, takes care of things properly. I recently had a weird incident with our fireplace where creosote was falling down the chimney onto our insert and it choked out the fireplace. I called on a Friday late afternoon and they made an appointment for me first thing in the morning. Bruce kindly addressed the problem for us so we have the option of using our fireplace before it gets really cold.
Helen Sherk: Emerald City Chimney rebuilt the upper part of our chimney. They did a great job - it looks beautiful! The whole process was very professional, from Bruce's original visit and estimate to the last clean-up. Access to our house was difficult, but the crew worked diligently and efficiently and finished on time. During the job, they decided that tuck-pointing the entire chimney was not necessary, and deducted a substantial amount from the bill, which we already thought was quite reasonable. There were no hidden charges or surprises. They removed our broken firebox and built a new one out of new fire bricks. They also added a new chimney cap and damper and swept the chimney soot clean. I highly recommend the Mad Hatter!

My appointment was booked within a very reasonable time frame and they showed up exactly as expected. Their work was great - the sweep did a terrific job, answered numerous questions, pointed out a few problems for me to know about and didn't try to upsell me. Charges were exactly as expected. I may need some future work done and I plan to call them again.

Heather Dolin: I'm a real estate broker and deal with contractors regularly. Excel was incredible; from start to finish. They got back to me immediately; were able to squeeze me in quickly, their work was phenomenal, on time and a reasonable price. You could tell that they cared. I don't often rave about contractors but they were so good it was worth writing this review. Don't hesitate to hire them!

The quote came in under their estimated time frame, just a couple days later. We trusted the great reviews here and hired them for the job. Our two chimneys were both in rough shape, one needed some brick rebuilding and both needed new capping/flashing. Even on our steep roof, the team was safe and got the work done in the exact estimated time. And our fireplace no longer leaks, so I'm a very happy customer. Thanks so much.

Yvonne Williams: My 85 year old chimney was crumbling and needed so much help. When it rained outside, it rained into my fireplace. Jeremy and his crew rebuilt it from the roofline up and tuck pointed from the roofline down. The flashing was redone, a new cleanout door installed and also a new flue liner. They were able to clean my bricks and reuse them. It's SO pretty now!! I appreciated their communication with what they were doing each day, how long it would take, and what rooms they would need access to. They were very willing to answer every question. Jeremy wore his mask inside, took off his boots, and made sure the jobsite was clean when they were entirely finished. I did end up waiting a few months for a start date, but it was worth the wait. When youspend money on a larger project you want to love it and I LOVE MY "NEW" CHIMNEY!!! As a side note this company was more affordable than the 3 other estimates I got. Thank you Excel Chimney.
