They steered me towards velvet to handle cats as well, which I hadn't thought of before. I've had it for 6-7 years now and it still looks about as new as when I got it delivered, despite being routinely puked on by my cats.

We worked with Rosie who helped us custom design our size, shape and look. It was worth every penny and the wait - we've never experienced a comfier couch. Quoted end of April would be outside that promise and verbal estimate was before the promise date. Still an honest account of what we experienced to date. Glad you are paying attention to our reviews as I see other experiences like ours. More as our order progresses to see if the estimates hold true to form. Right now 3 stars out of 5 which is neither negative nor positive as I noted good order experience but bad updates and estimates. Guess you can earn the other stars on delivery follow through.Last update: Couch delivered on April 1st. Great construction and easy delivery arrangements. I even arranged to have them take away the old couch. Excellent!

Robin Harrison: We had originally ordered a similar sofa from Apt2B, which is a national major chain, and with a promise of 4-8 weeks delivery time, and no couch after 5 months with no real delivery date in site, we got our money back from Apt2B and headed to Modern Design Sofas here locally in the Central District.BOY, are we happy we did! Service was absolutely fantastic, it was so nice to get to feel them out in person, and the delivery time was VERY reasonable and our sofa is LUXURIOUS. It's my dream couch and all our friends are obsessed.10/10 would recommend them for your sofa-purchasing needs.

Mike Sousa: I am extremely pleased with the service I received at Modern Design Sofas. Josh was great to work with and was patient with me as I took about 3 weeks to mull over some decisions about the size of the sectional and the fabric choice. There was never any pressure whatsoever. He was very helpful in letting me know things to consider when I was deciding on a fabric and gave me several samples to take home to consider. He was also key to me picking out the correct color for the legs that would go best. In addition to the great service, MDS has a very smart and sharp array of designs and styles. I shopped around at several other stores I would always typically go to in years past but I kept coming back to MDS.

Bruce Meyers: Very unassuming store that is jammed full with sofa's & chairs. At first, I thought that most of the designs and colors were not right for my son & his wife. However, two sectionals caught our attention. One had a desireable contemporary design with nice fabric. The second one had a better design and the sofa was about 10 inches wider than the other one. However, the fabric was all wrong. Josh was so helpful when we told him what we were looking for in terms of design, colors, and durability. He showed us several other fabrics that ticked all the boxes for both color, texture, and durability. To our surprise, Josh showed us how we could customize the sofa with a better fabric for no increase in price. We could select the color of the wood legs and for a modest fee we could add 6 button tufting to each of the three sofa back cushions. Both the back and seat cushions were fully reversable and could be serviced at the store if anything went wrong in the future. All of this could be made for us in Los Angeles and delivered in 4 to six weeks. We looked at several chain furniture stores and another local store. Modern Design sofas had the best quality and prices compared to the other stores. We bought a high quality customized sofa with the lowest delivery cost for about what we would have paid at a higher end chain store. Their sofa didn't compare in terms of design or base price fabrics.

Not only did they have an impressive array of fabrics to choose from but the quality, craftsmanship, comfort, service and delivery all exceeded expectations. To top it off, it arrived in only 5 weeks and it was made in the US. We will be in need of another sofa for our home and will absolutely come back to Modern Design Sofas! Julie Busch: as well as larger modern spaces. Most retailers cannot. The price was great and I got exactly what I wanted in a high quality well-designed item, in what looks and feels like a custom fabric, for easily half the price of anywhere in Seattle or generally online. They have a brick and mortar location downtown with design assistance, but you can also order everything online and the owner will contact you about delivery and choices. My custom sofa bed was here in just three weeks.. This store is a well kept secret.

This year I easily switched out the legs for some I bought on etsy which changed the vibe of the couch. I love that the couch is US made, and sold by a local seattle business.

Service was very good particularly for the Deco that required some set up. They do charge for delivery but really worth it because it's very personalized and the delivery personnel really know the products. Room & Board is one of the few retailers that when you complete a survey, you know they read it. For the most recent coffee table purchase I had a question and a comment. I received a response just a day later. While not expected they went above and beyond in response and action. I would whole heartedly and confidently purchase at Room & Board again.

Kimric Autumn: I bought a Luonto sleeper sofa from them in 2022 and they shipped it to California for me and it was STILL a good price! And Iove love the sofa AND the fold out bed. I put a soft topper on it, though, because it's pretty firm.

Claude Constant: Purchased the most perfect Luonto Sleeper sofa for my space. The staff was truly patient with me as I requested a high number of swatches to make sure that the color would go with my color scheme. The White Glove Delivery Service was also well worth the price as these sofas tend to be heavy because of their sturdy mechanisms.I use it mainly as a sofa in my office/guest room and find it to be more comfortable than the one in my living room. I also napped on it once and was delighted with the firmness of the mattress. My visitors will be very happy.I was a bit worried about purchasing out of state. The next time I will not hesitate to purchase from Sleepers in Seattle. The service and the product are excellent.
John Kvasnosky: We called the store looking for help in getting a frame repair for our 12-year-old American Leather sleeper sofa. Despite its age, it was in very good condition and we wanted help getting it fixed. The shop helped us get in touch with the manufacturer but, unfortunately, its age made getting parts difficult. We went back to the shop, and Beatrice there put us in touch with a local repair person they use who was able to help us get the sleeper quickly back in service. It saved us from having to replace the otherwise good-condition item during what would have been a long, post-Covid delivery delay. They did a great job of customer service!

Top floor is furniture and down below is where you’ll find things like kitchen supplies, table settings, dishes, napkins, table decorations, stuff like that. You’ll get great quality with crate and barrel but you’ll be paying quite a bit for it.

Jenna Jaque: When I decided to redo my family room after the holidays, I did not realize how big of a project I was undertaking and how design was not my strong suit. After I visited several stores and getting no help from any of the salespeople my friend recommended that I visit the Bassett Store in Tukwila and work with Jake their Lead Designer. I scheduled an appointment with him the very next day. As soon as we met, I knew that I was going to get the help I was looking for. His approach was finding solutions that worked for me and my family not just trying to sell me what he liked. After spending an hour in the store meeting with him, I decided to have him come out to the house so he can get a better feel for the space and lighting of the room. He brought some of the fabrics I loved in the store to make sure they integrated well with my existing pieces that I was keeping in the room. He took measurements so he could build a 3D floor plan to show me and my husband so we could get a better sense of the design. A few days later we meet him back at the store for the design presentation and I could not have been more impressed and excited about the project. He picked everything from the wall color, area rug and even created us a lighting plan to ensure we had task lighting around the room.Everything was delivered a few days ago and everything came together just like he planned, and everyone just loves our new room. I can’t wait until it’s time to redo my bedroom so I can work with Jake and Bassett again.

JC Choi: When real people are doing what comes natural, what is borne of this: total satisfaction. The owner Moe has a bit of carnival barker but this guy is all business and he is on the side of fairness and justice. He also happens to run the place. And it runs like a Swiss watch. Order- Deliver- Approve- Install, and that part of the process took 4 hours. When's the last time that happened.
JOpinion: I had been looking for a reliable shop to reupholster my seats on my motorcycle and I am glad I chose Rich's. Initially the seat they made was beautiful, but a little different than what I was looking for. I called them back, told them what I thought and without hesitation they got me back in and fixed my seat. It turned out perfectly and I can ride for now for hours. I can't thank or recommend them enough for all your upholstery needs. Thanks guys!
Brian Nixon: The carpet in the trunk of my Toyota Camry got absolutely filthy and I wasn't sure what could be done other than completely replacing it. Moe at Rich's Custom Upholstery was great! He took a look at the carpet, found an in-kind replacement and gave me a quote within a matter of minutes, but then also gave me great advice on how I could tackle the project myself in easily attainable steps. He saved me hundreds of dollars and a lot of wasted time looking around - just doing the right thing for someone who was out of his depths. I really appreciate the honest dealing!
J Hoff: I want to give Moe and the Techs at Rich's big props for the help with my Triumph Spitfire I'm fixing up. I needed to do a little carpet work and a set of new door cards. I'm doing the work myself and Moe was able to come up with the perfect materials that were leftovers from other projects, this kept the costs well within my budget. Hannah Mosheim: Rich's custom upholstery has the nicest staff and did a great job reupholstering the bench in my hyundai elantra! My car got broken into and the leather bench seat had holes from broken glass. Rich's dealt with Statefarm and fought for me so Statefarm would cover the whole bill so I wouldn't have to. Elysia answered all my calls and called Statefarm many times for me! They replaced the leather bench quickly and it looks brand new!

Kevin J. Cox: I used Rich’s years ago on the first car I ever owned. I had forgotten what a great job they do. I purchased a used BMW M3 convertible last week in California. Mechanically, so far, the car is perfect but the drivers seat showed the typical wear these cars always seem to have. They repaired the drivers seat and dyed all of the leather that showed wear due to exposure to the sun. The interior looks brand new. They also completed a couple of other repairs at no charge. It's very stylish, very comfortable and you can feel how well made it is and how high quality the leather and other materials are. I've been working with DWR's customer service team for some time now trying to locate a replacement part for my generation of the chair. It's been quite the quest, indeed.Here to express my appreciation for a service team that is supporting the maintenance of a product that they didn't process themselves. It's left a very positive impression on me as a customer that they've been willing to help with this oddball case. It also reinforces that the manufacturer and its affiliates take lifelong product care seriously. Here's to hoping we can find the parts. Thank you regardless!
R Kaur: The store has a very personalised no nonsense customer service style which I appreciated, letting you walk through the store- the design associate would come over to help you out every few minutes, in case you have questions. After we shortlisted a few products Renee sat down with us and helped us with the shipping timelines before we ordered, along with recommendations for other pieces which we decided to think over before purchasing. Since these are high value purchases having someone work with us was wonderful. I highly recommend coming into the store rather than ordering online esp. to have a look at the visual merchandising to identify your particular style and inspiration for how you may want to set up your home.
