Kids With An Edge Math & Reading Tutoring, Computer Classes and Early Learning Center: what do users think?

Sahar Rooholamini: This teaching and learning partnership has really boosted my child's math skills and confidence. She has made such great strides this year, and her solid performance on middle school standardized testing really demonstrated her progress.

Michelle Rappaport: My child came out of math last night soo soo excited about subtracting from zero. And I can already see such an improvement in her mental math skills. Thanks for turning her whole relationship with math right side up.

Stephanie Halpert: My son is now confident in math. Thank you!

renee sliker: A year ago, my daughter was behind with reading and now is flying through chapter books! It’s been a great experience. I plan to also start my son when he’s out of preschool!

sabra landon: I cannot believe how much my 11th grader has improved in math, and how much confidence he has gained in just the last couple of months of working with KWAE. It has taken so much stress off of him and I am grateful.

elvira castillo: . She makes math accessible and fun

shazi Barhamand: Miss Anu's classes have made our son so much more confident and comfortable with Math and well ahead of where he would have been had he not been in her classe . We couldn't have asked for a better math teacher. She is patient, understands how kids minds work, and makes classes fun for kids. You can tell that Miss Anu does this more out of a genuine love for teaching and a passion for helping kids than as a job. We are incredibly grateful to have somebody as committed as her teaching our son.

Shabnam Gulkk: My 4th grader's progress in math is very good. He had a math test last week and he got the highest score in the class because he covered the first five chapters with Ms Anu in her small online group. Her teaching method is very good and easy for children to understand. When he started with Ms Anu about 5-6 months ago, he did not even know his times tables and multi-digit addition/subtraction were challenging for him, but now he is scoring the highest in his 4th grade math class!

Rachel Friend: We have had a great experience with KWAE. Online tutoring, even for younger children, has been very effective and enjoyable. It's efficient, and we've seen immediate results. I highly recommend!

Vivek Sharma: , or writing funny or creative stories without worry about what people might think. Working with Anu has given them so many stretch learning opportunities – the math they learn with her pushes them far beyond what they do in school and that helps them feel confident in their skills. It’s amazing to hear them come out of class bursting with pride because they just learned a high school level math concept! We highly recommend Anu!

Moon Majumdar: Ms Anu is the inimitable greatest math tutor. You have to try it to believe it. Last year, she helped my then 3rd grade daughter go from being very upset about her math skills to now enjoying math and feeling more confident. While my then 1st grader has always enjoyed math and been pretty good at it, he really enjoys the small group online tutoring setting because he says it's more fun! Both kids will be continuing with Miss Anu again this year!

Colin Gamroth: Love this place!

Aaron Pedersen: We wanted to say a huge thank you to our tutor, Payton, for everything she has done for our son. Having such a supportive, gifted, patient, and excellent teacher helping him realize how well he actually CAN read means so much. I think that it means more to him than he will realize for a few years. He's reading signs randomly and just genuinely seems more comfortable and confident. She's a fantastic educator and we're so thankful to have met her.

Matthew Anderson: since he started working with you just 3 months ago

Laura Powell: My son has been doing online math tutoring with Ms. Anu since online schooling during the pandemic began in 2020. It started out as a great way for my son to get some enrichment in math and gain a deeper understanding of the concepts being taught online. We have continued with the tutoring even after online school ended because he finds it engaging and fun. He has a great rapport with Ms. Anu and learns so much from her.

Dan H: I cannot say enough good things about Kids With an Edge. Our daughter moved into the HCC program and went from kindergarten math in K, to 3rd grade math in 1st grade. She was struggling with the leap because of gaps in her foundational skills and understanding. We worked for months at getting her up to speed, usually very inefficiently because it took me a lot of trial and error to find the right way to help her understand.Eventually we learned about Kids with an Edge, and everything changed. Ms. Anu is incredibly kind and patient, and is absolutely a pro at communicating concepts in a way that kids understand quickly. She’s also very adept at diagnosing where misunderstandings are happening based on incorrect answers.Within three or four weeks our daughter was moving quickly and adeptly through her math, and beginning to show signs not only of confidence, but if pride and excitement. It has been such a game changer for our whole family, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Abby Silva: , her teachers could not stop raving about her progress. Fast forward to her final conference in June, and she surpassed all of their expectations and is now on track to be ready for second grade. What has stuck out the most is their repeated comments of how much confidence she has now. Because they have provided her with the tools to work through ELA and Mathematics, our daughter actually enjoys it now

Joel McIntyre: Nothing but positive feedback. It's been hugely helpful. We're so grateful for the help. My daughter has really started to enjoy reading and seems to be gaining a ton of confidence with it.

Sarah Bricknell: coordinated any necessary changes to the schedule. My daughter is feeling good about math, loves her tutor and her grades are stellar. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Thank you!

Think Academic Services: what do users think?

Zoe Litvack: . They have both been so helpful and supportive in my learning. Since the summer of 2020, I switched to remote learning and it has been a lot easier for me because it's more flexible and compatible with my busy high school schedule.

Kaniya Osterling: I mostly met up with Jack and he helped me with my homework in many ways that not other tutors have help me. One way he has helped me is when I had to write an essay for history, I don't like using outlines to create an essay, and I would usually just start write it without a plan. But he helped me by helping me plan out what I would write in a way that was a lot more helpful then the original prompt.

gg1 “da1”: I came to Think for math tutoring in Algebra 1and 2 and got As in both classes! Think helped me become more prepared and confident in my math skills. I came back for bridge to college math and love being tutored by Wen. I like the flexibility of having remote lessons.

tessa: I started Think tutoring in the summer of 2018 with Pre-Algebra and now I am in Pre-Calculus, Calculus next year. Think tutoring has helped me not only fully understand math concepts that seemed challenging in class, but also helped with how to approach solving problems. For example, writing the whole problem and organizing my ideas. During COVID they moved fully remote which was convenient because I could just do the work from my room.

Amelia Math: I came into THINK not having a clue what I was learning I’m Geometry then Wen helped me understand what I was learning then helped me learn things I would be doing so I wasn’t more confused in the future. This was super helpful going into high school honors classes during Covid.

Autumn Claussen: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueWonderful experience for my child! Jack and Wen are top-notch professionals and experts at what they do. They genuinely seem to care and want to see your child succeed. I highly recommend their services.

Aliya K: We had a great experience with Jack with both 1-1 and small group tutoring. My kids had a chance to work on current grade lessons as well as advanced concepts in English and Math. The best part for us was to have an educator to do the teaching! I was forced into homeschooling last year, so I was most grateful for how Jack immediately connected with the kids and motivated them to learn.

Satchel (Satch): Think has helped me all throughout my middle school and now high school years. I highly recommend coming to Think if you think your child needs tutoring or just some help with work. Jack is highly flexible and can help you with anything but math. Although his wife makes up for it in that she is very skilled in math.

Truong Thi Vuong Linh: Jack helped me with my personal statement when I applied to UW in 2018. I got accepted to the program I applied for! I would highly recommend using Think Academic Services.

SP32: We started going to Think Academic when we wanted more math curriculum for our child. He loves the tutoring and they provide a wonderful learning environment that fosters his love of math. The teachers are terrific and he loves to go. We will definitely continue to see them.

Sara Stephenson: I can’t say enough amazing things about Jack, Huyen and THINK Academic Services. My two boys have been getting tutoring support at Think since 2013 on a weekly bases during the school year as well as participating in their summer programs. Jack and Huyen are like family. With Jacks stellar educational background he is highly skilled at guiding and providing the right tools they need to become confident writers and independent learners. Jack holds the boys accountable for the work he knows they are capable of doing. I love picking the boys up after a tutoring session and seeing them so happy, bouncy and positive about what they just accomplished. The place is a fun upbeat engaging environment. We are so lucky to have this resource in the South end of Seattle!

Ellis Bennett: THINK is a tremendous resource for parents. Both teachers are fun and engaging. My daughter was having difficulties in 2nd grade math and beginning to really struggle with confidence. Now she is studying at a grade level ahead of her own and loves math. She loves going to THINK. It has really changed her perspective on school, and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Shata Liam Stephenson: I have been coming to Think for almost 3 years now. My experience has been wonderful. I've struggled with essay writing for many years. At Think I have been able to overcome that barrier and improve my writing continuously. Besides being great people, the tutors are very engaging. My grades have gotten much better with the skills I've learned here - I've gone from mostly B's to all A's, and kept my grades up! This has boosted my confidence as a student and encouraged me to take more challenging classes. I am now confident in any class, and actually push myself to reach my academic potential. Thank you Jack and Huyen, you're the best!

callysta coyne: I originally came to Think for Algebra 2 help last year, and have now come back for help in math this year, as well as an SAT prep class. Think has really boosted my confidence in math, and has helped me work through the gaps in my math knowledge as I continue down the path of higher level math classes. I also have received SAT help, which has helped my test taking confidence immensely, and improved my score greatly.

Anne Derieux: My son sophomore in high school has started Math tutoring at Think Academic only 2 months ago, and his grades have moved up to A. Not only his grades but his attitude towards Math has changed which makes it more fun for all of us around him!

Paul Derieux Chagnard: All my life, my grades in math have been bad. I started high school getting C's, and now, thanks to Think, I am getting A's!

Kevin: is that he actually enjoys going there and he works hard. Pleasantly surprised with how well it has gone. Been there since Sept and plan to stay thru June.

Spring Academy: what do users think?

Kendra: As parents, we were drawn to Spring Academy because of the credentials of its leadership and faculty, the school’s accreditations, and that it is a local school tied to the community. After enrolling our child, we can now say first-hand, that Spring Academy is a wonderful school that provided the “just-right” supportive environment and academic structure our child needed to thrive again after a medical setback and because the traditional school setting did not work. I encourage you to meet with their amazing principal and teachers. This is a really special school.

Mishele Maron: Hi, my daughter Elodie attended Spring Academy during that first pandemic year when it was clear to us that a traditional online school setting in high school would not meet her academic needs. My kid has ADHD and dyslexia and while intelligent and hardworking, her processing speed requires a steady, patient, presence to help walk her through both math and reading assignments. The Spring model, which pairs one teacher to two students, has this built in support and accountability model. As the teacher pivots back and forth between the students, students are left briefly alone with tasks, but the teacher is constantly checking in. Due to the highly interactive and intense model, the student absorbs content at an accelerated pace. Elodie has succeeded in classes at Spring that would have been impossible in a 1-30 teacher studio ratio at our local public Lincoln high school. After that, we lobbied and successfully won permission from SPS for Elodie to have a dual enrollment, allowing her to attend classes at our local public high school, and supplement math and English at Spring. So she absorbed academic content but also had a challenging and engaging social environment.Elodie has had three or four different teachers at Spring and all of them have been top notch. We did not once have any issues. The principal, Frank Hewins, also continually checked in with her progress. I have referred ten or fifteen families to Spring in the last few years. Whatever reason a family might seek a school like Spring, to support a student's learning style, supplement home schooling, or enrich the learning of a student so they might gain more academic confidence in themselves, I really recommend Spring as a worthy investment.

Patty Bardina: The teachers at Spring Academy worked with my child's school to be able to support her dyslexia during the school day. She felt very supported with the class material, and the tutoring alleviated the amount of homework she brought home. I'm grateful it worked out so well!

Tanya King: We found Spring Academy during a stressful and chaotic time for our family-especially my 9th grade son. From the first time we met with Frank and Rob, they were kind, calm and non-judgmental and we knew our son would be in good hands. He was productive and successful in finishing out his 9th grade year. He worked hard and learned a lot- he was able to move quickly at times but also ask questions and remediate as needed all due to the one-on-one learning environment. His teachers were patient and flexible as there were times he had to work remotely. The Spring Academy is a great concept and all cities/school districts would be lucky to have something similar. We plan to use them again for tutoring or summer school. Thank you Spring Academy for working with our son & family!

Heather Thorne: My son went to Spring Academy after struggling in his freshman year of high school. Spring Academy not only brought him up to speed, but he excelled and now loves learning! He graduated in 2021 and was accepted to the college of his choice. I couldn't be happier with my son's education and the fact that Spring Academy gave him confidence in his academic ability. I would recommend this school to anyone!

Richard A. Wright: Our child, who normally thrived in school, fell apart with online learning during the pandemic. Spring Academy really saved the day. The one on one teaching and the excellent content really engaged my child in a way that larger classes couldn't. This is a great alternative to public school.

Alexis Polebitski: , and we were all so elated to see how much she had improved in areas with which she was struggling! Our family can’t thank Spring Academy enough. We are forever grateful for all of their help!

Veronica Flores: I am going to put it in Spanish because I know that there are many parents like me, for me and especially for my children, working with the therapists at Spring Academy was a wonderful experience. I think it is important for a child to feel good when working on their therapy. In these times of technology, having a connection with the therapist is something essential 😉 and it is something that I thank you for meeting the needs of each of the children.😍🙏👍

Harvey Family: We are so grateful for all that Spring Academy has done for our son. He has improved both socially and academically thanks to the dedicated staff and tutors who truly care about each individual child.

Sam Benefiel: My daughter has been thriving at Spring Academy since she started Spring quarter in 8th grade. With the extra attention she receives from her teachers, her grades have improved significantly. She gets along well with her teachers and I appreciate that the staff is responsive with communication. It was especially fortunate during the closure of schools due to COVID-19, because Spring Academy was able to transition immediately and seamlessly to online instruction. Instruction time is very efficient, so even with a fully loaded schedule, she spends only four hours per day, two days per week. That allows us to have more family time together and for her to pursue other interests outside of school. I recommend Spring Academy for students who have a hard time focusing in large class sizes and who could benefit from on-on-one instruction.

S H: Our daughter has attended Spring Academy this past school year. She was behind academically at the end of 8th Grade and needed more attention than she had received in her previous school. What attracted us to Spring Academy was its one-on-one tutoring which is what our daughter really needed. It has been a great experience and she has made great strides in catching up, even in math, her most difficult subject that she has struggled with. The staff have been incredibly supportive, and responsive if there were any concerns. We have no hesitation in recommending Spring Academy to others.

padget dean: My teenager has been struggling in public school for quite some time. His self-esteem was shot. Based on a recommendation from his neuropsychologist we decided to try a learning environment where he would receive individual teaching. We found Spring academy close to where we live, so decided to give it a go. It has been wonderful for our son. He's learning and doing well on his tests and his self-esteem is back! He gets along great with his instructor and the staff and are very friendly and genuinely interested in his well-being. Highly recommended!

McLean Thompson: I learned more than a full year of math in one semester here. By learning other things as I went, I learned everything I should have learned in public school in the last several years to a much higher level of understanding than I originally had.

Mark Montstream: My 8th grade son started to have significant struggles 2/3 way through the school year and we needed to get him into a to program quickly while keeping him on track academically. Principal Ryan Malone worked with us to tailor a program which fit our needs and our time schedule. For 2.5 months, Spring Academy was THE school my son attended. He loved his teacher/tutor - her calm demeanor and encouraging personality boosted by son's esteem and allowed him to make steady academic progress. Administrators Ryan and Rob also connected with my son and offered additional encouragement and support. Even though my son has transitioned to a larger, more traditional high school he still takes the bus up to periodically visit Ryan and Rob because he really likes them and continues to feel support from them. Great people. Great experience.

GSM 1: The Spring Academy offered a natural transition from the great progress our son made at the Lehman Academy with some executive function challenges. The pacing of the work is one of the greatest attributes of the program. His forward progress is based on him demonstrating proficiency with the subject matter. If it takes a little longer, his teacher is there to patiently support him. He is also given the opportunity to test out of specific sections for which he is proficient. The Spring Academy’s curriculum is accredited in Washington State and there are several objective forms of measurement by which our sons progress is monitored. For our family the subjective forms of measurement are meaningful as well. He is always ready to go his twice a week, hour long session at the Spring Academy. Most often he is smiling when we pick him up as he tells us about how he “gets it” or that he just did well on an exam.We are also appreciative of the Principal Ryan Malone. He was very generous with his time in helping us decide if the Spring Academy would be a good fit. The accredited curriculum along with Ryan’s help made it easy to substitute his math class at Seattle Public Schools with another subject. Our son will receive full credit for his Math class conducted at the Spring Academy. The Spring Academy offers a very flexible schedule which gave us lots of options for our son’s busy extracurricular schedule. We really appreciate that they are open till 7pm.We are very happy to have found the Spring Academy and would recommend it to anyone seeking help for a student experiencing a learning challenge.

Mama Schonna: Spring Academy change my child's whole perspective towards Math. If you have a child struggling, send them here. It changed my child's life.

Antonio Montstream: This is an Amazing school. Great academics and a great place to do work. A very welcoming and friendly staff. I love my teacher and really recommend this school to anyone out there.

Robin McManamin: could not have been happier. While math is not his favorite, he realized that as a college-bound student, he would need to have pre-calculus and he was determined to do better. We chose Spring Academy as it utilizes one-on-one instruction and felt it was optimal for his comprehension of the material. He liked his teacher a lot. One of the best things about Spring Academy is that he needed to take this class "outside" of his regular school hours AND he was a football player. Spring Academy allowed our son to start the classes after football season and worked hard to accommodate his schedule. From the administration to the instructor, I feel that Spring Academy cares about its' students and their success. Highly recommend them.

Mathnasium: what do users think?

Lauren McCray: My son was struggling a little with math, and we lucked into finding this place. There was such a welcoming and positive atmosphere. They also encouraged my son to have fun with math by earning rewards. He looks forward to coming, like his tutors, and is much more confident in his abilities. Mathnasium updated progress and communication is very encouraging. Definitely recommend giving it a try if your child is struggling in math or wants to be challenged.

Singapore Maths Club Bellevue: what do users think?

Anand Kannan:

Durga Amarnath:

M Seattle: Excellent instruction! I would highly recommend. My child is doing so much better, plus loves going to this facility.

Kim Dang: The Singapore Math Club in Bellevue is where you want to bring your children to further enhance their mental stamina and capabilities with mathematics. Based on a fun and well organized curriculum showing grade schoolers proven effective techniques to simplify and break down numbers. The result: math is no longer intimidating and will increase your child’s interest and tendency to play with and embrace numbers! As an adult, I’ve sat in on a brief demo and found the teacher engaging, approachable, and very interested in holding herself accountable to making sure I understood the content and approach - just so I could see first hand how effective Singapore Math techniques can be.

Dawn Shields: The staff is committed to providing an excellent learning experience for children. The facility, curriculum, and teachers are top notch. I highly recommend them to any parent who is looking to help elevate their child's learning potential.

Kathleen Stinson: Excellent curriculum and an owner that truly cares about the children and their learning experience.
