Overlake Farm: what do users think?

Amelia: Where a horse can be a horse!I found Overlake before I found my horse. For a horse to live in a herd on 30 acres within minutes of a major city is unheard of.There are pasture and paddock options as well and sometimes it’s necessary to utilize them too.I came to Overlake as a new horse owner, and the community here is incredibly helpful and kind. People share their knowledge and help each other out.My nieces & nephews participated in the summer camp and it changed their lives. They developed an appreciation for nature, horses, and farm life that they will carry throughout their lives. There are various riding styles and disciplines and no pressure to conform to any one in particular. There is access to excellent trainers, farriers, and vets. The commonality among boarders is that everyone cares about the well- being of the horses above all.

M Sullivan: This place is horse heaven! They live in a herd like they were designed to do. But if you need special care there is space for that too. And across the street 200+ acres of clean, well groomed trails - a slice of heaven for riders too. Love this place

Jeanne Strand: Unfortunately, I was only at Overlake Farms in Bellevue for 8 months before our planned move to Arizona full time in August 2022. I wish I had been there longer. OLF was the right home for me and my horse Blu. He loved his big open stall and paddock and his turn out in lush pastures. The Farm has a really nice riding track, outdoor arena and round pen and is literally right across the street from Bridle trails state park—so easy to attend shows or clinics! While there is no covered arena for rainy winter days, I can say with all honesty that I never missed a day of planned riding due to rain. The park has tall trees which protect from the rain but still are wide open and bright.Dana and her crew take amazing care of all the horses. They have a huge herd that has 30+ acres to meander in and are fed on a track to make sure everyone has a place to eat and not be bothered. Having said that, horses will be horses and do hurt themselves from time to time. Dana keeps sufficient stall/paddocks available to use if a horse needs to come out of the herd for any reason. A young horse had torn the skin back on her knee requiring stitches. She broke her stitches open and Dana made extraordinary efforts to help with the care and treatment of the horse including installing a tether system in a stall. In the 3 barns I have been at, I have never seen an owner so personally involved and conscientious of a horses’ well being. For the non-herd horses, turn out is all day for long hours not just a couple hours. Any reasonable request was met and accommodated. This is not a “show” barn although there are show horses there. Boarders are knowledgeable and friendly and happy to join on a trail ride. There are a number of quality trainers available and with 50+ horses on the farm, all the vets and farriers go there. Dana even built a new covered, flat area for vets and/or farriers to work out of the elements. No this is not the fanciest place but it was honest, warm, caring and welcoming and not only felt like, but was Home for Blu and I.While we are loving and adjusting to our home in the sun, we will forever miss and be fond of our friends and time at Overlake. 100% recommend Overlake as a great place to board.

Jessica Qiu: Incredible property with access to Bridle Trails State Park. I've been boarding here since Oct 2021. My horse lives in the 30 acre pasture in the herd and he is really living his best life. Owners and staff are so attentive and knowledgeable. The location definitely can't be beat either!

Risa Bruner: and the owners are extremely accommodating. My guy can be a bit difficult at times, but the owners have gone above and beyond to work with us and meet our needs. The social environment is also very pleasant, as the other boarders are very supportive of each other—and always up for a group trail ride! We were very lucky to find this place, and I highly recommend them to anybody in the Seattle area!

Wendy Cavender: Overlake Farms is all about customer serviceHorses thrive in their loving care.

Alison Patton: I've boarded my two horses there for the last 4 years and love the friendly atmosphere and they are always willing to accommodate the needs doe your horse of say they get injured. Us tons of boarding options from stalls, paddocks, dry lots and being in the herd.

Lisabeth Sterling: A happy home for horses... across the street from 500 acres of forest with well maintained trails.

Lauryn Christean: Wonderful people. Wonderful place.

Cougar Mountain Stables: what do users think?

Sasha B: My daughter has thrived in Rebecca's horsemanship program for nearly five years. Rebecca fosters a holistic environment where students learn everything from horse care and body language to essential veterinary skills. My daughter, once a complete novice, can now confidently handle and care for horses. Rebecca cultivates independent riders who understand and connect with these animals on a deep level. The program prioritizes safety, personalized instruction, and a supportive community. We're grateful for Rebecca's dedication and highly recommend her program.

Nathalie Henry Riche: This is a small barn with top notch training. After riding at 4 barns, including much fancier ones, I truly think this is the one you want. Lessons are structured with skills both in horse care and riding. Instructors know what they talked about. It is clear what the student needs to work on to move on to their next level. Solid foundations, excellent progress. Great safe horses for all levels. Cannot find better on the east side IMO.

Helena Heffel: I LOVE this family run stables. The horses are really well cared for with loving hands. Rebecca has decades of experience in health, behavior and a winning attitude.

Vishnu Priya: We had a birthday party and it went well. Rebecca and her team were every helpful and friendly. Just want to clarify that horse ride happens in the shed area. I hope this helps others when they book the party.

X 0: Myself and my family have known Rebecca and Ryan for years. Boarded horses and most recently had my daughters 7th Birthday party there. It was fantastic! Both Rebecca and Ryan take wonderful care of their animals and the property. You can see the passion Rebecca has for her horses. They both do a incredible job. Thanks so much for such a great time!

Alyssa Johnson: I was at a few different riding facilities before I was introduced to CMS and The Red Barn by a friend in school. CMS is by far the best stable I have been to. Everyone there is so nice and it is such a welcoming environment. I love not only being able to work with the horses but seeing the work that the staff put in to rehabilitate all of the rescues that come in!

Rob Allison: Amazing place to learn how to ride and care for horses. Great family atmosphere.

Naomi: it is a great place the people and horses are so sweet and it is so great I even volunteered in the summer and that too was great

Jennifer O'Meara: We attended a birthday party for a 5-year-old at Cougar Mountain Stables. It was such a great alternative to the typical parties at places like Pump It Up. They had a small bouncy castle for the kids to play in at the beginning. Then the staff did a great job of introducing the children to the horses, first having them brush them, then building up to riding them. In particular, the staff were wonderful with my very timid 5-year-old daughter. She was afraid to ride the horses, but the staff were incredibly supportive and encouraging and she ended up riding a horse for the first time.

Elisabeth Olin: I have been riding horses and volunteering at CMS for almost 4 years. I love being around the horses and being able to help the rescues trust people again. Being able to go to see the horses whenever I need is really great! CMS has made me a lot happier(:

Pets Galore Horseback Rides: what do users think?

Jenneane Jansen: Great pony ride for my niece!

Pedro Balcazar: Thank you Wendy, had a great time taking my grand daughter on one of your horses.

Rebecca Melton: Wonderful place for a trail ride for advanced or beginner riders. As a trail guide myself I have been on many trails in many different countries, but Pets Galore is by far one of my favourite experiences to date. I took my boyfriend who had only been on 2 trail rides prior to our ride at Pets Galore and we both had a blast. Our trail guide, Megan, was super friendly and helpful, and told us a lot about all their animals as we rode around their ranch. She’s definitely the best trail guide we’ve ever had anywhere! The trails are beautiful, the horses are in fantastic shape, and they have many other animals as well. Lexi and May the horses had such big personalities and it’s quite clear that they are well loved and cared for.A highlight of this place for myself and my beginner rider guest is that the horses are not on autopilot mode. You do have to pay attention and actually ride, as opposed to some trail places that have autopilot horses that do the trail on their own, which can get a little boring.Thank you so much Megan and Pets Galore, we will definitely be back!

Pamela Kennedy: We brought our 9 and 7 year old grandkids here for their very first horseback ride. The staff and owner were wonderful, helpful, and encouraging. The kids had a great experience and I would highly recommend Pets Galore.

Jenn Ford: Wendy was an excellent host!Jewel is a perfect pony for a first-timer!Grounds and trails are clean and clear. Will definitely be back to explore more.

D P: Great place. The rodeo Saturday was a blast

Teagan Woodbury: 3-year-old got to ride, too. They were each on a horse and we were able to lead them around the trails at our leisure, stopping to say hi to the goats and pig and dogs. It was so fun and for sure the highlight of her day! That and feeding the horses a carrot at the end. This is such a beautiful place. Highly recommend!

sushi samurai: The owner and our guide was awesome!!! We had a great day horseback riding! We will definitely be back.

Allison Saperstein: Wendy and crew were very friendly. The horses were gentle giant
