Scott Games: Grandmaster Kim is a rare find in martial arts self defense instruction. Students learn proper techniques on how to harness the power of their body when punching, kicking and applying joint locks. They also learn foundation skills of protection from punching and kicking strikes as well as ways to fall properly and limiting injury. Kwon Moo Hapkido is derived from Korean combat style Hapkido. This is not a tournament style martial art. Grandmaster Kim's system is perfect for adults looking for self defense training and kids needing some self defense training and the discipline that a martial art offers. On top of it the school's community is second to none. No egos and a great family style atmosphere.
John John: Ive been a student for almost three years. I wish I had discovered this art sooner. Master Kim is exceptional, extremely knowledgeable and an outstanding instructor. His decades of experience in Korean hapkido have led him to trim down his fighting form into extremely effective and brutal self defense tactics. I encourage anyone who feels like that little something in their life is missing and see if this workout of your body and engaugment of your mind is what you need to get some stress out, and a regular workout in. And all while becoming more flexible, while learning and practicing how to physically defend yourself.

The atmosphere is impeccable, I have yet to walk into a self defense class where the students have come up to me and introduced themselves upon arrival, making you feel right at home. A great mix of friendly working professionals that has found the value of investing time and money to learn what Master Kim has to offer to his students. Master Kim has spent an entire lifetime studying martial arts and is one of about ten TRUE 8th degree don black belt Masters in world still teaching the ways of Hapkido. In his 50 years of teaching and receiving instruction he has perfected and condensed Hapkido into a stile that is more effective. Creating KWON MOO Hapkido which is more of an eclectic style of martial arts than it ever has been before in its history, it's on the leading edge of the ever evolving ways of self defense and is not something you will not find anywhere else!
William Manzanares: This school is great for anyone seeking self-discipline, confidence, physical fitness and self-defense skills under a caring and watchful Master Kim. You get to learn awesome techniques starting at the white belt level and build up your flexibility and strength along side higher belts. The kids' classes are full of happy faces. If you are looking for a welcoming environment and to have some of the hardest workouts this is the place for you.

David Lemphers: ZUM is amazing. The layout, equipment, staff and facilities are top notch. If you’re downtown and need a friendly, top notch gym you have to come here.
Edward: It would be remiss to not compliment this gym. I was able to experience this gym thru the day pass and it immediately got me sold to the gym’s amenities. As you can see from my photos, it is a jack of all trades kind of gym. It would try to satisfy all your curiosity depending on the type of workout you feel like doing.Not only that; my experience with staff was amazing. Liz gave me a tour of the place and even accommodated my needs in regard to making sure I was aware I can come in throughout the whole day even when I leave and decide come back.It has my needs in terms of strength training. They have 45s, 35s, 25s 15s, 10s, all the way to 1.25lbs.I was able to fine tune my workout for the day.I have high praises for this gym. If I lived in Seattle and work downtown, I would be a member in this gym in a heartbeat.Notice that it isn’t busy as well? This was on a Saturday.

Dana Cretu: UPDATE: I've seen the company take great strides in the light of recent events and commend their forward thinking to keep everyone safe and healthy. They were amongst the first of many companies to offer creative solutions to protecting the continued health and safety of their clients and staff, offering live remote classes at home, keeping us informed via email, and detailing what steps they were taking to deep clean and sterilize the facility. They've shown that they are proactive rather than reactive, and I wanted to give my thanks.Previous-For location and convenience, zum currently works for us. The people here are friendly, staff and gym goers alike, but there have been too many upkeep issues lately that have really gotten to my partner and I. Namely, the cleanliness of the facility in whole, the poor quality of the towels, the state of the products in the locker room, and other minor things. They have replaced a few machines and added a cold towel mini fridge, but these don't make up for what needs to be changed and upkept - especially the mats and towels. It's also uncommonly warm in this gym, winter and summer alike.
Dylan Rush: Great gym for the variety of equipment and free classes. They have monkey bars, rowing machines, climbing and warrior ropes in addition to all the equipment one would normally expect. Not too difficult to get a squat rack or bench press even at peak hours. My one complaint is that I never attended the classes, and the classes were right next to the cardio equipment and pretty loud and would always happen right around 5/6 pm. But sometimes trainers would play good music so whatever. Locker rooms were pretty clean. Decent sauna. Overall good value.
Markus Eng: A great gym for those who value the diversity of fitness and training methods. Yoga, martial arts, boxing and Pilates are some of the many practices here.
Julia Hlavacik: I hate the gym, but I love this gym. The owners care about their gym-goers and will learn your name before your free week is over. They learn what works for you and what doesn’t and help you modify. This isn’t a gym with a lot of frills, but they do have some frills that count like a clean locker room and free-to-use mats in the yoga studio. I didn’t like that I had to commit to a certain amount of time when I signed up because my job comes with some chance of relocation, but they have a reasonable cancellation policy if you move more than 50 miles away. It didn’t end up mattering because of my job and I have not wanted to cancel for any other reason either. I’ll be coming back as long as I live in Seattle. Special thanks to Joe and Derek for all of their work with me!
