Max's World Cafe: what do users think?

First Name Last Name: I have lived in and around Issaquah for a decade; it's always been common knowledge that Chef Edna is one of the best chefs in the city. She has a mastery of meat and spice that has earned each menu item a spot on my bucket list. Even though I'm not usually one to tolerate spicy food, it's so intricate and well made I don't even mind.Chef Edna and her family are warm and welcoming and will often say hello. It is always a joy to experience the World Cafe!

Emma Wiens: Great service, great foodEdit: i dont remember eating here please do not take my review to heart

Rajeev Karnik: Mom n mom cafe run by Kate who refused a to make hot chocolate because people found her made from scratch drink too expensive. The food was excellent, the seating basic and the place filled up by the time we left. I will go there again

Mayura Karnik: Loved this place! High quality food with everything made from scratch. This is a hidden gem. Will definitely be a regular here.

Rachel Henson: Best brunch on the Eastside. No joke! Can’t wait to try lunch and dinner 😋😋😋

Jared Rozowsky: Wonderful restaurant! I passed through while driving from Seattle towards the east. The fish tacos were some of the best I’ve had, and the service was top notch! Try the hot sauces while you’re there. Would definitely go back.

Calvin Mayfield: I had the Piri Piri chicken with Portuguese rice and warm date cake with caramel for dessert. The chicken was very flavorful and the crispy skin complemented the moist chicken breast. The dessert was crazy, stupid drop-your-spoon-and-stare-at-your-plate good!!! Chef Edna knows what she's doing in that kitchen!Dine in: Yes …

Jinoo Mattila: Dine in: Yes Takeout: Yes

Christopher Jensen: So happy Chef Edna started brunch starting in April and as a chicken and waffles lover, was my usual basis. Such a great secret in Issaquah she is -- and dont forget to sample her array of homemade amazing sauces...Dine in: Yes Outdoor seating: No Takeout: Yes Curbside pickup: Yes …

Richard Forysiak: The most amazing flavors I have had in a long time. Everyone should try this. So unique and incredible. The biscuit and gravy will change your life. If you like spices then this place will change your life. We tried there incredible dessert too. Just as incredible as everything else.

Paul Schmidt: We came in and were quickly greeted and seated by Chef Edna. She's a delight to speak with and her food is wonderful. Fresh ingredients, bold flavors, well prepared, and an eclectic menu. You must try this restaurant and especially her unique Goat Curry from her native land of Goa!

Jesse Hatfield: Just ate crispy artichoke salad and the house fish and chips........ wonderful! My wife had the chicken marsala......she throughly loved it! Service is top notch........please try! Opening for breakfast starting next week! Recommend all of their hot sauces. Good conversation with Edna, the owner. The wine that was recommended paired nicely. Over all a wonderful experience.

Bradley Marshall: Amazing food!

Casey Graham: Chef Edna’s food is to die for! Everything uses the best ingredients, made by hand, with care and attention. I will spend the rest of my life looking for a piri piri sauce as good as hers. If you are in for brunch, try the biscuits and gravy with piri piri sauce; you will have a new perspective on life. If you’re in for lunch try the pizza. If you’re in for dinner try the sea bass. I hope Edna will sell her sauces online so I can never be without.

Kamal605 Madbar: We were quickly and heartily welcomed by the staff after entering. The kitchen is close to the passage and we could see the cook at function just as smell the heavenliness immediately. There is an extremely assorted menu with alternatives for everybody, including veggie lover. The food is remarkable and tasted stunning. The costs are a bit higher, however I accept the nature of the fixings utilized and the adoration put in each dish warrants the extra expense. The morning meal/lunch segments are perfect for most cravings, however of you are a substantial eater you should add a side thing or attempt a portion of their delectable desserts after your dinner. Exceptionally spotless, decent air. They have their own hotsauce that is mystical. You can tell that gourmet expert Edna really has energy for what she does! They additionally offer bundled sauces and rubs for procurement. An encounter everybody ought to have when in Issaquah.

Mary Allen: If you haven’t been to Max’s World Cafe, you are missing out of Issaquah’s best restaurant and probably the best fried chicken and Macaroni and Cheese in the entire Eastside. This food is made with love and is by far worth every penny. The physical location is not upscale but don’t judge it on that, the food is top notch. You’re welcome.

Goldfinch Tavern: what do users think?

Jessica Robinson: My friend and I were in town for a conference and wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night. We chose goldfinch which was just a hop, skip, and a jump from our hotel. We made reservations and got a seat by the window. The food and drinks were amazing and the waitstaff was even more amazing! They noticed me struggling to take a selfie with me and my friend and offered to take a picture for us. Our water glasses were never more than half empty, and everything was worth the price we paid. They also asked if we had any dietary restrictions when we ordered. Will definitely be going back if I’m ever in Seattle for a special occasion.

Altura: what do users think?

C. L.: There aren't enough good things that can be said about Altura. From the moment you enter the restaurant and the hosts greet you with a warm and friendly hello and ask to hang your coats. To sitting down and having a small hot towel brought to clean your hands. A delicious aperitif brought to start your night. Every interaction is polite, attentive and professional. We have gone to Altura for my birthday two years in a row. We will be going again for our anniversary in two months. Both experiences, the food and presentations were beautiful and delicious. Each menu was a different experience with a few staples we loved from our previous visit. Everything is amazing, there wasn't a single item or dish we were even slightly disappointed by. The same can be said for the drinks, wine and dessert.A perfect place for a special night out. They've made my birthday feel really special each time and we're so happy every time we visit. Truly something to experience for yourself.Thank you to all the Altura staff, we can't wait to see you all again soon.- Tina & Kris

Coonoor Behal: This place is out of this world, I can't believe I don't see it on more "Best of" lists for Seattle. I prioritize "event meals" in my life and this is easily in my top 10 ever. Was fortunate enough to get off the waitlist and take my parents there for Christmas Eve and it was a delight start to finish. Food is just jaw-droppingly moan-worthy, every single item took our breath away. I got the wine pairing and loved it...they for sure snuck in some extra wines for me too but didn't make a big deal out of it! Service is lovely and clearly professional but also relaxed. Love the look of the place too, more like a taverna rather than a stiff, white table cloth place you'd imagine at this price point and quality.

The Harvest Vine: what do users think?

Lily: edit: food still comes out slowlyiberico pork is a must. The desserts are fantastic! Wine and olive was our least favorite but it was still decent. The flan was creamy and came with lots of sauce. Service here is still attentive. A place I will go back .prior review:The food comes out slowly, not a place to grab food if you have another place to go. A good place to be at if you have like 1.5 -2 hours for dinner .The place is small with around 4-5 tables tucked tightly together upstairs and a couple more downstairs. It is best to get a reservation. The octopus and oxtail were definitely my favorite. The octopus was smoky and not fishy . The oxtail was wrapped in a crunchy shell and full of flavor.Bread is bread, I wouldn't get it.I would come back to this place .

Howard Sewell: Small, cozy neighborhood tapas restaurant serving delicious, albeit expensive, small plates. Ironically, the extensive wine list is very reasonably priced – especially the Spanish labels – which might help take the sting out of paying as much as $29 for a plate of octopus. The food itself, however, is consistently top-notch, arrives quickly, and service overall is friendly, timely, and attentive. This was our second visit and we’d definitely return, if only for a special occasion.

Heath Johnson: I really enjoy watching the art to my food being prepared, this is one of those places where you can watch while you wait. The chefs make it look so easy that you forget how challenging it is to repeat what they do in your own kitchen. This is good worth going out for because it is hard to replicate, so treat yourself. It’s like tapas and everything seems to be topped with the best olive oil you can imagine. The ingredients are all fresh and that’s what you can expect here. The recipes are simple with a complex twist, like a splash of some special sauce that lites up the dish. Get a reservation if you can, but they do keep some tables available for walk ins if you want to try your luck if you are passing through. On the pricy side but worth every penny.

Andaluca: what do users think?

Sylvia: Food was delicious, fairly priced for quality. Service was delightful. Atmosphere was as needed. The dim lighting and soft music creates quiet intimate moments. Truly a hidden treasure, this place. Don't miss out.Left to right: Eggs Benedict, House-made Granola with Yogurt, Sides of Herbed Roasted Potatoes & Bacon.

Kyle “AcidRayne” Timmons: Great place for stopping after a hard day of work. Claire was an absolute gem. She served us and literally put up me asking so many questions.I had the duck and it was just as good a five sales in Vancouver BC. Just amazing. And here is the green drink I asked for. We call it the Ben 10. Ask for it today too!

Henry SooHoo: Service was very friendly and speedy. The servers were patient and answered questions we had about the options as well as attentive about refilling beverages. The food itself was decent but I would not say special. The Turkish apricot waffles were novel but too sweet in my opinion. Even forgoing the syrup, I struggled to eat the last few saccharine bites.

Michael Williams: The service provided by the gentleman, was as good as the dish! The best, most creative rendition of lox on toast that I have had. The ricotta was a revelation. The jammy hard oiled eggs perfect. Giant YUM.Vegetarian options: The lox is terrific; you can substitute non-meat in place of

STEVE CUMMINGS: Everything was perfect. from the complimentary valet parking to the post-WW II dark wooden interior We had Thanksgiving dinner here and the service was just excellent. Attentive, but not pushy or robotic. For a hotel restaurant, prices were reasonable. Best part of our experience was the welcoming notice at the bottom of a real menu asking us not to use electronic devices or cell phones. Everyplace should have such a polite request highlighted. I live here but we seldom frequent hotel restaurants.

Swanky Christy: . Service was very good, chef came and talk to us as well as a restaurant manager and we shared our feedback. Overall we had a good experience here and as a downtown locals we will consider this restaurant when we want nice Mediterranean cuisine.

Ciudad: what do users think?

Michael Delamere: Each item of food ordered was excellent. If I had to choose one item though as my favorite it would be the Patatas Bravas. Service was very good; friendly and accommodating. Prices are fair. Parking is on the street so can be hit and miss but there are free spots if you can get them. Easy to locate. Would highly recommend and look forward to all subsequent visits I may have!

Shannon Patterson: Delicious as always and such a lovely atmosphere. I've now had everything on the menu - love it all. Not something I say lightly. There is music but you can still hear each other and talk without yelling. I love this place. They do pour overs for their coffee - so good and worth the wait. 4 stars on service because we got off to a bit of a rough start around not being able to be seated until our 4 person arrived. But it all worked out. 🙂 Just be mindful on weekends that you will need your entire party present. It's a small space and tables are at a premium.

John Jansen: but well worth it. Love that the entrance is such that you're greeted by the chefs

The Grill From Ipanema: what do users think?

eddy wong: Our family came from out of town and heard about this Brazilian ayce steak house. Yes, news travels all the way up north to Vancouver bc folks. We came for dinner. Yes I can understand the premium price. You are getting 17 different cuts of meats and seafood is included like the salmon and prawns. If your a foodie and love variety this is a great place. I certainly enjoyed it with each bite smiling away.If you just want the salad bar you can opt for that and the price will be cheaper. The bar is nice too. From stews, rices, many types of salads, cheeses, and meats, it’s hard to disappoint patrons. My family and I definitely loved our first experience here.My favourites were all the meats and seafood. The grilled pineapple also hits different. Smokey and savory.4 adults and a 3 year old child. Came out to $66 each plus $10 for the child before tax and 20 percent gratuity. The service we had is incredible. The staff was very attentive. We were served by a young gentleman and a pretty slim lady with dark hair.I would definitely return here again. I don’t care if I have to drive from Canada.Vegetarian options: Fruits, rice, salads, cheese

G Romano: was pretty good! Loved it. Do it!

bryce botelho: What a great experience! Visiting from Portland, found this 💎 gem ! Mom has never had brazilian before , she Loved it!Service was on point. everyone was a great family team serving our table, quaint, lots of selections food & Meat sweats , that was overly delicious, and that Pineapple yummmm ! Thank you

Tiffani Jones: We love coming here for our date nights. The setup is very beautiful, and the music fits the vibe. Our favorites are the parmeasan pork, filet mignon, ribeye steak, and the garlic picanha. My husband loves their caprinhas, and the strawberry lemon drop is dangerously good.Today, our server was Elijah, and he was super helpful. He gave us extra cheese balls when I asked and even comp'd a drink I ordered, but didn't end up drinking. Our conversation was very easygoing, and felt very friendly. Definitely can't wait for our next date!

Scott Patterson: The best restaurant and best vibes in Seattle. I’m so lucky to have lived in Eastlake. We’ll be back soon!

Jeffery Hennings: Had a great experience here.Really fantastic ambience with great food and a cool open kitchen set up. The sauce that comes with the lamb burger is amazing.

Erin Ogden Green: Good meal. Great appetizers. Good wine list. A bit on the noisy side, so it was hard to have a conversation.

Akshay Ram: Loved the squash soup and olive cicchetti. Gnochi wasn't the best, overall a pleasant and enjoyable experience. Limited menu with couple of vegetarian options that worked for us

Jessica Turner: Love love this place!! Ambiance is great, service prompt and friendly and the food was stellar. We got the 3 mezzes to start: Churizo dates, Hummus, and Sardines. All were delicious! Then we shared the lamb ragu special, also perfect. Will definitely come back

Stanislav Gates: From hostess, to waiters and waitresses, to the kitchen staff, everyone went far and beyond to meet our special needs at the table. The food exceeded our already high expectations. Lamb, steak were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The sides were very generous and worth the price.Expect to spend around 140 USD per person with couple drinks each, so it should be considered for special occasions, since it is not on the cheap side. With that said, it was worth every penny, and my friends and I are looking forward to coming back here again in the future.Dietary restrictions: The restaurant has gluten free menu per requests.

Tyler: Title: A Culinary Symphony: Pike Place Chowder's New England EuphoriaNestled amidst the vibrant tapestry of Pike Place Market in Seattle, Pike Place Chowder stands as a culinary beacon, drawing in patrons with promises of seafood splendor and chowder delights. On a recent excursion to this iconic market, I had the pleasure of immersing myself in the sensory symphony orchestrated by Pike Place Chowder's New England clam chowder.Upon entering the bustling eatery, the aroma of freshly baked bread mingled with the salty tang of the sea, instantly setting the stage for a gastronomic adventure. My gaze was drawn to the display of accolades adorning the walls, a testament to the chowder's renowned status among locals and tourists alike. As I approached the counter, anticipation coursed through my veins, heightened by the sight of steaming cauldrons brimming with velvety liquid gold. The potatoes, delicately cooked to perfection, added a subtle earthy sweetness that complemented the richness of the chowder. But it was the broth that truly stole the show, a velvety elixir that caressed the senses with its luxurious embrace. Herakles Li: Came in here for a pretty late brunch. Service was good and they were kind to check in on us as the kitchen and bar were closing. We got the po boy and the tasso ham Benedict. Nue: what do users think?

DMeganR: Love that reservations are available. Sunday brunch was super yummy. Filipino breakfast passed muster with my Filipino husband, was delicious. Gluten free options always a gold star for me. Coffee was A+. Not the friendliest service, but also not unfriendly, so I guess it depends if you care about that kind of thing. Most importantly all the food was very well prepared.Dietary restrictions: Lots of options for dairy and gluten issues.

Maria Ramya Caesar: We kicked things off with the "World Butter Plate" – nothing fancy, just a fun way to taste different kinds of butter. Then came the mouthwatering Indonesian Pork Belly and the downright amazing South African Bunny Chow. Seriously, they blew us away. And to top it all off, we indulged in the Danish Drømmekage Dream Cake.Overall, the food was out of this world, and I absolutely loved the vibe of the place. It was totally unique.Would definitely visit again

Sara Roth: the war fries and the south African bunny chow. The waiter was patient with us when he was explaining how to eat everything and the food was out of this world with flavor. I would definitely come here again. The decor is also perfectly on theme!

Gregory Lee: were very delicious. Highly recommend the Brazilian Acarajé and South African Bunny Chow. As far as the water bugs - if you want to see your friends squirm and have a laugh, then try it. Otherwise, the bugs really don't have much flesh and the taste was not my cup of tea. Would not recommend that dish for the price. Everything else was 👍 also, don't bother looking for street parking, just park in the public lots as the price is about the sameParking: Don't bother finding street parking, just park in the public lots as the price is about the same

Kiran S: Nue on Capitol Hill isn't just a dining spot; it's a small, charming, and undeniably hipster haven where culinary adventures await. Stepping into Nue feels like entering a cozy retreat, where each dish promises to surprise and delight. My recent visit to Nue left me wanting more, and I'm excited to share my experience. To kick off our journey, we started with the Beirut Style Hummus—an absolute treat served with warm, fluffy pita bread. The creamy texture and flavorful blend of tahini, lemon, and garlic made for a perfect appetizer, setting the stage for what was to come.We ordered the Portuguese Peri Peri Chicken Sandwich. Picture tender chicken, marinated in a fiery Peri Peri sauce, nestled between slices of toasted artisan bread, and topped with crisp lettuce and ripe tomato. Each bite was a burst of bold flavors, perfectly balancing spice and freshness.Next up was the South African Bunny Chow—a dish that stole the show with its bold and comforting flavors. Savoring the aromatic curry served in a hollowed-out loaf of bread was an experience in itself, transporting me to the streets of South Africa with every bite. This was shockingly amazing! The ambiance at Nue perfectly complements the eclectic menu, with its quirky decor and laid-back vibe. The attentive service only added to the charm, making our dining experience truly memorable. In conclusion, Nue on Capitol Hill is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary adventure waiting to be explored. Whether you're a food enthusiast or a curious diner seeking new experiences, Nue promises to delight your taste buds and ignite your sense of wanderlust.

The Whale Wins: what do users think?

Matthew Fairfax: From the moment we sat down and were greeted by the smiling faces of our servers to the last drop of wine at the end of the night, it was perfect. We all agreed that the food was some of the best we have had in years. Each of us had a favorite - mine was the black cod and the Matiz sardines on toast. The servers were attentive, super kind, and made sure we left happy, with a delicious slice of the zucchini bread with creme fraiche and sea salt.I look forward to going back and experiencing the rest of the menu!

Lauren T: We had dinner here on a Tuesday. The menu is all locally sourced ingredients with a European twist to the preparation of the food. Think upper class hipster. The wait staff was extremely friendly. We had the salmon dip as an appetizer. Delicious notes of spice at the end of the dip. The chips were freshly cooked and perfectly seasoned. For a main course we split the Tuesday special of The Cassoulet for Two. The flavors of each; the sausage, the duck and the lentils were amazing. The only negative comment is that the dish should have come out of the 700 degree oven about 2 minutes earlier. That being said, the meal was still amazing. The texture of a purposefully ground sausage was refreshing. The fact that the duck itself was not oily or greasy and that the meat fell off the bone was appetizing. While the integrity of the lentils was compromised by being overcooked, the bread crumbs replenished some of the lost texture. Overall an amazing meal.I was pleasantly surprised by how full and delicious the table red wine was. It complimented the European feel of the meal perfectly without overpowering your senses. While you’re there, be sure to check out the goods from local vendors and European ones.

Grace C: very tasty food! Love the gnocchi

Kathleen: Very good food & service. We were sat with a nice view of the brick oven and it was very cozy.

Ryan Chavez: This place is a great little restaurant. Get a reservation while you can! Dinner was fantastic! This place runs like clockwork since there are two chefs making all the food. It's quite a feat! The French Onion Soup is so cheesy and sweet, highly recommended. We followed it up with the Spring Salad which was refreshing. Our main entrees were the Halibut and Pork Tenderloin. Both were so delicious. The pork was light yet hearty and the fish a perfectly crispy skin. The servers were super friendly and personable. Even though they were plenty busy, they took their time to stop and chat and answer questions. Definitely coming back!

D Walker: Definitely, one of the best meals I have had in years. The service was attentive and personable from the time we came through the door until we departed. Great wine selection, the burrata/fava bean appetizer was amazing, and the risotto was extremely well executed. The pork chop was so tender, and the greens and crispy polenta were the perfect complement. Highly recommend.

Jeremy Tafoya: Tilikum Place: Where every bite feels like a culinary hug! From the delectable dishes to the impeccable service, this place hits all the marks. The staff's warmth and expertise elevate the experience, especially when sipping on their divine Old Fashioned made with love. Oysters that sing perfection and an atmosphere that whispers relaxation, all at a great price. Tilikum Place is a must-visit gem! This was a great way to end our Space needle sight seeing!
