Seattle Anxiety Specialists, PLLC - Psychiatry & Psychology: what do users think?

Adithi Jayaraman: I am truly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the research educational program at Seattle Anxiety Specialists! I learned various skills, such as writing and interviewing techniques, that will help me in my future careers. I also genuinely enjoyed the community---I had the privilege of learning from several psychologists on the team, and I was continuously blown away by their breath and depth of knowledge. The people were also some of the most kind and loving humans I've ever met--I wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

Sara Wilson '24: I cannot speak more highly of Seattle Anxiety Specialists. This practice is comprised of incredibly seasoned, personable, and knowledgeable professionals who take a comprehensive approach to mental health. I had the pleasure of interning with Research Director, Dr. Jennifer Smith, who puts her utmost effort into the public resources side of the company as demonstrated by the holistic and fruitful nature of the website. Through magazine articles, encyclopedia entries, and interview series, Seattle Anxiety Specialists makes mental health education highly accessible to the general public. Their research program has given me valuable insights I will cary with me for the rest of my life. This accessibility of education coupled with real psychiatric/therapeutic care gives this practice a unique edge in the mental health industry.

Steve Crapo: .The Expert Interview Series videos are very interesting and well done. I particularly enjoyed the video interviews with Seattle Anxiety Specialist’s own psychiatrist Evelyn Nelson, MD on really addressing their patient’s possible concerns about starting or changing psychiatric medicines. I also enjoyed and related to the former Microsoft tech employee turned therapist at Seattle Anxiety Specialists, Jim McDonnell with his interview covering high stress job anxiety and his mid-career field change from tech to mental health therapy.

Maya: SAS is a robust and evolved practice with wonderful and talented clinicians. Everyone I spoke to who worked there was extremely intelligent, kind, and thoughtful. They also have a research team that continually publishes articles and interviews which is super cool. It shows that they care about and are dedicated to staying up to date with current evidence, which is very important. Definitely would recommend coming here for therapy

Amelia Worley: I've only had pleasant experiences with Seattle Anxiety Specialists! I had the chance to speak with the Psychotherapist Kate Willman and she just has one of those caring and open demeanors where you feel like you could tell her anything. Her story is very inspiring! Additionally, Dr. Ghahari puts a lot of effort into the public resources side of company where I've found so much information about various disorders and issues. Overall a great establishment where everyone truly cares about one another.

Nicole Izquierdo: Smith and Blake Thompson are amazing! Don't know where I would be without them!

Maryam Brown: I'm a fellow psychotherapist in the area and have been referring patients to Seattle Anxiety Specialists for several years. The clinic offers wrap-around services by highly trained, warm, and passionate psychotherapists, including psychiatric appointments, which allows patients to get the help they need in one place and for clinicians to consult as a team. Blake Thompson, the executive director, is knowledgeable about both psychology and business operations and has created a safe, friendly, and welcoming environment.

Jacob Markovitz: I met Blake Thompson, the executive director of Seattle Anxiety Specialists, early in his career. Blake is a thoughtful and empathetic individual who brings a keen and curious mind to every situation he faces. Over the years, he has been a helpful sounding board and resource for me as I developed my own practice in mental health. I am certain that Blake brings that same energy and compassion to the running of Seattle Anxiety Specialists and to the work with his own clients.

Michael Mensah: Having worked with Evelyn Nelson for four years, she is the most compassionate, careful, caring, and considerate psychiatrist I have encountered. Complimenting her astute psychopharmacological acumen is a seeming sixth sense for suffering. She’s relatable and down to earth for a superstar providing stratospherically high quality care. Highly recommend to anyone in need of an excellent psychiatrist.

Claudia Conaway: Dr. Tu and Dr. Shokeen are amazing! From day one, they have been so helpful, communicative, consistent, and compassionate. My life has truly changed for the better because of this team. The admin team is also great at communicating quickly with me on appointments and invoices. Can't speak highly enough of them!!

Mason Herrick: I was hoping to get someone really good at their trade. I got someone who is truly excellent in Dr. Tu. She is extraordinary in her knowledge of neurology & psychiatry, her passion for the subject and her methodology and temperament in implementing it. Really lucked out finding this doctor...

Sarah Roche: Dr. Tu is really amazing. You can tell she actually cares about your well-being and it feels like she goes above and beyond for you, and that you're in safe hands and good care with her. I'd recommend her to any family or friends.

Michael Stein: I am a psychologist and owner of an anxiety/OCD-focused group practice with offices in Denver and Reno. Blake Thompson has been an enormous help to me. He is a treasure trove of advice on running a psychology practice and on helping clients. I've really appreciated his calm, down-to-earth demeanor and his generosity in sharing his knowledge. He's been great to work with, I cannot speak highly enough of him and the help he's given me. I would strongly recommend him to other colleagues seeking guidance and for people looking for help with anxiety.

Donna DeMarco: Case was extremely insightful, and helped my family through some difficulties. I would highly recommend to anyone.

Rahul Khurana: I'm a psychiatrist here in Seattle and often need to refer patients to therapists in the area. Seattle Anxiety Specialists have been great partners for me in caring for my patients. All my patients who go there are very happy with their therapists and seem to benefit greatly from the care they receive. The therapists are communicative & collaborative with me. Their communications reflect a high degree of skill & compassion. They have a great ability to discern which patients would benefit from psychiatric assessment and anxiety medication on top of the invaluable psychotherapy they provide.Even though they focus on anxiety, they are excellent at diagnosing other mental health issues at well. They have an approach that's both evidence-based and patient-centered. They know how to treat the symptom, but they also see the big picture. I will gladly continue to work with them in the future and also refer my own patients to them.

Riley Paterson (madeasnack): I have known Jerome Veith for several years as a fellow psychotherapist and scholarly colleague. He has never failed to impress me with his rare combination of warmth, kindness, insight, and sensitivity to human things. We consult weekly about clients, and I always trust Jerome to help me sort through the difficult questions and concerns that inevitably arise in therapeutic work. If you are looking for an exceptionally educated, compassionate, and thoughtful listener, you've found one in Jerome.

Evidence Based Treatment Centers of Seattle: what do users think?

Jason Luoma: This clinic is one of the leading treatment centers in Seattle and a center of excellence in providing the best care possible guided by what science shows is most effective. They are constantly striving to integrate the newest treatments into their practice and are one of the few group practices in the country who is actively engaged in scientific research on their work. Highly recommended.

Ailish Wilson: Amazing clinic. Amazing therapists. Amazing staff. You will not regret seeking here treatment for yourself or a loved one.

Kimberly Frost: This clinic is amazing. My son has blossomed and even referred to his anxiety and depression in past tense. They support the parents and the child. It is expensive and time consuming but if you want your child to be themselves again this is the place and is an excellent value. From the front office staff to every doctor and director they have very literally changed our lives. They worked with our insurance and we were able to get most of the cost covered. They are out of network but you can still get benefit coverage just requires a bit more work.
