Pratt Fine Arts Center: what do users think?

s k: Pratt Fine Arts Center in Seattle offers a vibrant space for artistic exploration and community engagement. With its diverse range of classes and workshops in various disciplines, from glassblowing to metalworking, Pratt fosters creativity and skill development. The facility is well-equipped, and instructors are knowledgeable, providing a supportive environment for both beginners and experienced artists. Additionally, Pratt's commitment to accessibility and inclusivity enhances its appeal as a hub for artistic expression in the Seattle area.

Sruti Lankireddy: I really enjoyed my class at Pratt - I took the 1 day class in color theory. The teacher was knowledgeable and explained the concepts clearly with exercises that reinforced the concepts. I’d love to take another class here.

Jeff Jeff: Great equipment and excellent classes. Classes are also a remarkably good value when you consider the cost per hour of instruction.

June Park: They offer a variety of classes at different levels and the instructors are amazing. I’ve taken different classes so far and feel very grateful that Pratt exists in Seattle!

S Day: Learn something useful already.

Hailey: I have had a wonderful experience with Pratt so far. I just completed the introductory stone carving class with Leon White. It was an 8 week series from 6p-10p every Wednesday. Our group of 8 bonded and had a blast learning how to use the hand and power tools. I was an absolute beginner yet I learned a lot and had so much fun. Very nonjudgmental and supportive environment. Looking forward to taking the next class in the series.

MDH: Big studios, good equipment and facilities. Instructors are super knowledgeable and friendly. They were explaining the process in detail which made me a bit more confident when working with hot flames.I had a blast in the glass studios. There is plenty of free parking around the building.

AmberPhlame De B: They have everything, from glass to fabrication, woodworking, metalsmithing, printing. The instructors are absolutely fantastic, the buildings are a little "vétuste".

Dana Rolax: What Washington calls Pratt park, We call it Bryant Manor park, those are the connected apartments. Anyway its a wonderful park with roofed basketball court and ample parking.

Katria: I loved to print. Place is good and needs everything for some kind of printing techniques.

Mary G: Loved the glass blowing class. It was amazing. I can't recommend it enough.

Gage Academy of Art: what do users think?

miss april MacKay: Love this place

Jack Blaz: Awesome place to do, talk and learn art.

Layla mag: I attended two week long summer camps I just wonder why the portfolio class was cancelled I was look forward to it.

Bruce M: Great learning environment that reminds me of the college times. Teachers are friendly and pay attention to details. Would recommend to people who want to pick up painting in their adulthood.

Tom Johnson: . She also did some creative movement, which she found interesting. Overall, she enjoyed the camp. The location is easy to get to and there are places to park as you do dropoffs and pickups. I wish they did more writing with the book projects, though. It was heavy on the art and not much on the story or writing. I also thought more directed instruction with techniques could have made it better, but I think providing a space for the kids to create on their own, following their own inner artist, so to speak, was worthwhile. The room didn't have AC, but kids didn't seem to mind much. The room was oozing with a sense of art and project-making/building.

angeline Blattenbauer: I have been taking classes here since I was a teen and attended some of the free teen art classes. I continue to take the adult classes, every time I take a class I can feel my skills increase. The teachers are amazing!

Mara Modayur: My son enjoys the classes and we've both been impressed with the quality of instruction and live models. Fantastic school.

Кир: The classes I've had here are great quality, and the art teachers are very skilled . I recommend this school

Kirk Meeks: Great place! Amazing instructors!

Morgan Patten: Positive:Quality,Value

Mahalie Stackpole: Atelier style + level of classical art instruction - I love this place. It's old school, no more like olde school. I'm thankful we have access to high quality classical art instruction in Seattle. Most of the classes are instructed by phenomenal professional artists. Agree with other reviews, if you're serious about building fundamental skills in classic mediums this is an amazing place.

Antonella Pavese: and all have been fantastic. If you are serious in learning art skills, Gage is an excellent school.

Tamara Lee: to learn solid skills and gain confidence. My teen is thrilled with the classes she's taken

Neo Art School Seattle Childrens Art School: what do users think?

kendra koeplin: My kids tried Neo for first time over school break and both loved the art and outdoor play! My younger child who’s more shy was very comfortable by end of first day and excited to go back. Art projects are in depth and a good variety throughout week. Environment felt safe and inspiring of creativity!

Terri Chudzik: We're big fans of Neo Art school! I have 3 daughters - each with very different strengths and challenges, and Neo Art was a wonderful fit for all of them. They had the opportunity to explore a variety of art forms, and the team there made it possible for all of my girls to feel successful and have fun. One of my girls has a developmental disability, and the instructors adapted the projects for her, repeating instructions as needed to ensure she could express her creativity. She loved it so much that she had her birthday party there later in the year. We ended up returning several summers and joining parents night out as well. We're so grateful to have such a high caliber program that was sensitive to the unique needs of each individual kiddo. Highly recommend Neo Art school as a wonderful fit for a variety of kids - and a fun, inspiring place to create!

justine allen: Cute, creative projects. Perfect for young learning minds.

Craig Scanlan: . She's a very independent person that often doesn't like to follow directions at home because she "knows best," but at Neo she's been able to explore her passions with a good balance between doing it "her way" while also learning to accept help and tips from the teacher, Sean. Sean is that great mix of being a friend and ally to kids in listening and responding to their conversations in a genuine way while also teaching them to be responsible for their workspace and tools and to explore their creative directions. It's a great mix that my daughter really, really loves. She's always is excited to drop by the studio and work on new projects and feels like a genuine part of the Neo community. We've done the regular art classes, the pottery/ceramics classes, and a lot of the summer/holiday camps and just love it! Jasmine has shown a more responsible adult side in creating her art while still just having a ton of fun as a kid in engaging art classes.I'm really happy she gets to have an experience a lot like the classes I had as a kid! Thanks Sean!

Natalie Findley-Wolf: We have been attending Sean’s Thursday pottery class for over a year now. We have also attended some of the summer and holiday break events. The projects and options are amazing. My daughter looks forward to her class every week and proudly displays her projects and art all over our home. Sean is very kind and great with kids. Our daughter is very shy and he has been able to get her out of her shell and to harness her creativity in a safe space.

Eric Wardisko: Pure magic. The guy who runs the place is brilliant at meeting kids at their skill level and really encouraging them to expand in how they express themselves creatively. My 7 year old is constantly asking when she gets to return and our house is covered in magic art projects that are inspired by what she learned at Neo. My only issue is that there’s no grownup classes!

Hermona Mehari: Sean was so enthusiastic as he explained and prepared the supplies for us! You can tell he has real passion for what he was doing. He brings such positive vibes. I would definitely recommend going here for some great arts and crafts!

mary haddish: Great place, love coming here during the farmers market. Sean is super helpful and fun to work with.

Niyat Mehari Efrem: amazing best place ever. had the best time and i cant wait to go again. sean is super cool!!

Laura Kirby: or shaded open air in summer. There are very cool young teachers helping out the main teacher, with whom my son has a great rapport. Everyone there clearly cares a lot and are very responsive to all the young artists in their care. We're in the process of signing him up for some weeks this summer-my son is already excited for it.

Dashtiel: I'm only loving it because y'all have my name Neo so everytime I see someone say neo I think of me and it's so funny

Katie Naeve: a enriching, in-person activity. I don’t know what we would do without this amazing program.

Anura Shah: What a fantastic, safe and well-organized camp where my 8 year old son really learned about technique and perspective using a variety of art modalities. Schedule was free play and structured time, which is the perfect combination. Thank you!

Jessica Leung: did two weeks of camp this past summer, and came back with loads of amazing creations. From 3D works using air dry clay, to kiln fired pottery, to drawings of hot air balloons and spacecrafts, every piece was so unique. They were so excited to show us their art and to show their grandparents their work over FaceTime. Such creativity on the parts of the teachers and kids! The setup was perfect, safety wise, with outdoor tables, individual tables and supplies, lots of hand sanitizer, temperature checks and masks. Will definitely be back next summer if not sooner!

Seattle Glassblowing Studio: what do users think?

Lily: Did the 3 hour private lesson for my husband’s birthday and it was a blast! We loved the Netflix show Blown Away and wanted to try it out for ourselves. Our instructor Darrien was super informative and patient, and helped us make 5 custom pieces. He even made us a beautiful wavy bowl at the end! The front staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We have a newfound appreciation for the art of glassblowing!

Briar Rose: The environment was very inviting upon entering the store/shop. Staff were kind and open to discussion while I was waiting for my time to start on a two hour private lesson. They explained everything in detail from safety and use of the different tools to how to handle each piece. They did step by step on how long to keep the piece in the furnace and when to bring it out. The shaping of the pieces was done by the instructor, but I was still able to help during some of those points. Such a great experience and I do plan to come back when I can to do another piece.

D.R.: Yoshie Sugo was our masterful instructor. Everyone enjoyed our experience with her. Great studio, awesome teacher. Do it!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended Yes …

Rebecca Rose: My husband and I are long time fans of glass blowing and we’re obsessed with Netflix’s Blown Away so we had to book a session at Seattle’s glass blowing studio! Edgar was the artist that assisted us and did a great job, he’s super chill. We made 2 pieces and can’t wait to go back now that we have the hang of it. Love that they let you watch the other artist create pieces as well!

Eric Hann: I am very happy that I get to experience how to make the glass bowl. I am thankful for my instructor , Malcolm, for his patience and knowledge. Great experience for me!Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …

Sean's Clay Corner: what do users think?

Louis DeTulleo (DoctorLou):

Jimmy Ferrari: Потрясающее место, замечательный персонал и инструкторы очень помогут, если вы новичок в занятиях.

Kris Panchyk: Great place to come and play with clay!

Dominique Medici Studio: what do users think?

Janet Gryczan: Excellent teaching. Dominique demystifies the painting process by breaking it down into manageable steps, demonstrating solid strategies for solving problems, and delivers it all with dry humor and wisdom.

Merle DeNelsky: Dominique is able to demystify the drawing process and break down the most complex subjects into simple forms and steps, allowing the student to learn through her masterful practice of observation, simplification and technique.

Deborah Krieger: Dominique is a wonderful artist and teacher. It is not often that you find this combination. She clearly breaks down the steps of her painting process with a sense of humor, calmness, and patience. She does an excellent job of demonstrating and explaining what she's thinking and seeing while painting. If you want to take your art to the next level and have an enjoyable time, I highly recommend you study with Dominique.

Susan McClure: I have taken both the drawing and painting classes and highly recommend them. Dominque teaches a step by step process and during her demos, effectively communicates her thoughts and the questions she asks herself while drawing and painting. This is especially helpful in understanding the journey from abstract large shapes to the ever important details.I love painting with the limited palette too, which I have to admit I wasn't sure about. I have found that it does simplify color mixing and is less complicated than having a larger array of colors.Last but not least, she has a droll sense of humor which makes for a fun class, and a relaxed, positive attitude which is greatly appreciated.Thank you Dominque!

Barbara GUIAS: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueDominique is such a great alla prima painter and she shares so much I feel my painting improved a lot since I started taking classes with her a year ago.The course is designed for beginners as well as for advanced students.Using Zoom and Slack, the lessons are very well organized, I'm certainly impressed !

Joan Kaplan: The best art classes I have ever taken, and I’ve taken a lot! Dominique’s technique, her unbelievable way of drawing is beautiful to watch. I have taken 3 months of online classes and can’t wait until the fall. My art has improved so much and it’s a thrilling feeling. Thank you Dominique.

Marina Zaslavsky: Positive:QualityDominique is an amazing teacher that really has a gift for explaining and demonstrating her process. I feel so lucky to be able to take lessons with her now that online classes are available. Looking forward to taking many more classes with her!

colleen mauro: Dominique was organized and patientshe breaks down the subject to simple shapesits a very calm cool collected class where you learn how to conquer the difficult shapes in the headi enjoyed it very much and will take it again in fall when shes back

viviana pouget: Dominique is an excellent teacher and artist. In her demonstrations she breaks down the painting process into simple steps always answering questions. By using her limited pallet, I have developed my knowledge of value and color temperature and my paintings have greatly improved. Her classes are never boring because there is always something new to learn from her. I highly recommend her class.

Gerry Withey: Dominique is a gifted artist and teacher. I took Portrait With a Limited Palette as I wanted to work in oils and previously had just used mixed media. This class really helped. Dominique’s demos were helpful with knowledge shared freely and clearly. Critiques were always helpful and constructive and at times, Dominique did make me laugh. Great class, highly recommend.

Barbara Craver: Can’t recommend her highly enough, she has a YouTube channel and Instagram. See her work and the free content she shares.

Sylvia Vigliani: I have been very impressed with Dominique's teaching. I am now taking my 3rd class with her. She is very organized, and uses state of the art technology in order to present her lessons. Her teaching method breaks down the techniques into simple, manageable steps, so that one can really learn and gain control over the elements of perspective, value, color, and edges: all the components of making a great painting. I highly recommend studying with her!

Jeanine Celestina: I strongly recommend Dominique’s Painting classes for beginners to advanced students, She is a talented artist, and her teaching skills are friendly for everyone to follow and understand.I am an International Student and I am with Dominique for some years now, I have been taken her classes in person and also online.

Pamela Nachtigall: I have so enjoyed this class. Dominique is an excellent teacher and a gifted artist. Her explanations are clear; the right pace and done with just a bit of humor. Never slow or boring. Her demonstrations are amazing. She listens to students questions and answers in a thoughtful way. The critiques are incredibly instructive. I highly recommend Dominique Medici for learning portrait painting.

Lisa Wheldon: , and edges. Through her demos and kind critiques she helps you: 1

Joan Elliott: Taking online drawing classes with Dominique has been a joy. I have seen my work improve over these past months thanks to her careful instruction and the natural ease she has as a teacher. Dominique's classes and her passion for the creative process have rekindled my love of painting and drawing after spending many years in the more commercial side of the art world. I am looking forward to this summer's Plein Air painting course with Dominique.

jennifer addas: Domenique breaks down the elements of color, composition, and the painting process into clear steps/parts, and this process has helped clarify my thinking and seeing. Her critiques are wonderful, never judgemental, and I learn from each artist’s work. Domenique’s passion, as well as her calm, infuse her teaching.

Deedle Whitcher: Positive:Communication,Professionalism,Quality,ValueI would not hesitate to recommend Dominque Medici's oil painting instruction. She is generous with her vast knowledge and is able to meet students on their level: emerging painters as well as those very experienced. Her teaching pace and vocabulary are excellent. She has a superb command of the technical aspects of online instruction.

Jenny Mikulski: Dominique's Limited Palette class has been a wonderful introduction to the realm of oil painting. I love the 4 step process she uses to structure the lesson. I did this course online via ASL, and it felt like we were in studio together. She has a soothing voice also, which is very pleasant to listen to. It doesn't feel rushed but it covered a lot in a limited period of time.

Tal Tamir: ! She explains everything very clearly and can really simplify the drawing process. She demonstrates live on classes and explains her thought process, and it’s extremely helpful. I’m taking Dominique’s drawing class online and it has really taken my drawings to the next level!!! I’m definitely going to take her painting classes as well.

"The Fin Project" by John T. Young (Public Art Installation): what do users think?

jose carrillo: Súper nice place, but please don’t leave any valuables in your car 😬

Lo Potter: I love this piece of art and visit it every time I come to this park. Be sure to stop by and give it some love!

Anitaa Hibbard: Interesting. Especially if you read the plaques.

Ivan Martinez: The Orca fins are arranged parallel to each other as if they are part of a school of fish. A must see at Warren G. Magnuson Park.

Stavros Macrakis: . None of the submarines ever fired a shot in combat, but their presence was part of the ominous balance of power.

Yü Wu: Interesting installation in Magnuson park. I wish there is more information about the art project.

Becca McSweeney: Love this park. Beautiful and so many options of things to do. Will definitely be back again and again

Jonah: Dope spot, make sure to check out!

Darian Rutherford: Great display. Much better than the Miami Fin Park.

Cat V: I find it a bit spooky, actually. Big metal things stuck in the ground between walking paths. I bet it would be a good place to play hide and seek with a little one, though. The grass looks like it would be very mushy and muddy in the winter months so wear appropriate footwear.
