Hawthorne Stereo: what do users think?

Lester White: Out of town for work. Was looking for something to do. Stopped by to see what they had. They carried Harbeth speakers. I have read reviews on these but had not had a chance to listen . The got a pair out for me to audition. This is a great place .Very friendly staff. A look of different equipment, new and used. Wish they were located in my home state of MA.

Brian Roberts: I received a notification that it had been shipped. This probably goes without saying, but I received the turntable and couldn't be happier.I certainly plan on making more purchases with Hawthorne Stereo, and if they have what you're looking, I recommend you do the same. While I can't promise they'll email you back in the middle of the night, I'm confident you'll receive great customer service and have an excellent all-around experience.

Ossidian Ossidian: I've been a discerning and satisfied customer of Hawthorne Stereo for many years. The entire staff is wonderful to deal with and I'm always made welcome even if just to come by to shoot the breeze. Whether you're a long time audiophile or making your first foray into the world of high end audio, you owe it to yourself to check Hawthorne Stereo. You will not be disappointed.

Anant Bhargava: Excellent equipment and range. Really passionate people, take time to ensure you get full experience

Mark P: Fixed my 1974 pioneer amp. If you are looking for vintage or new highend gear, this place is a must.

Amy Vonk: Super helpful, friendly, and informative employees. No upselling whatsoever. They patiently answered my novice questions, recommended a few receivers and speakers and set up a listening room so I could compare the equipment options. I walked out with a receiver and speakers and they even quickly answered my follow-up email questions when I was setting everything up.

Danny Quaranta: Very friendly, knowledgable staff give the the customer respect no matter their price range/prior knowledge.I recently broke my cartridge on my turntable and I'm kinda happy about it because it means I have an excuse to go back to Hawthorne and talk to the staff

Trevor Gilmore: I feel lucky to have Hawthorne Stereo as a resource in Seattle. I know enough to be dangerous with vinyl but get lost in the online reviews. I went in, explained what level of audiophile I am, what my rough budget was, and I was in great hands. Not only did they set up my new turntable with me, they even helped me load everything into the car! 100x better than trying to do this all online by yourself. Highly recommend!

Terry G: Have only had great, honest experiences with Hawthorne. Been going there for probably 15 years. Great new and used equipment as well as advice and repair services.

Daniel Spencer: Incredibly helpful staff that worked with us to build a great turntable sound system on a relatively modest budget. Personal and patient, we learned a lot and had a great experience shopping here. We’ll definitely be back when it’s time to upgrade!

John L Lidstrom: Very nice, knowledgeable staff, very helpful. A great experience!

Mark Salum: One of my favorite hifi stores in the PNW. Great selection of new and used products. Excellent prices. Superior customer service. Each time I come here - whether I spend a little, a lot, or nothing at all, I’m treated like I’m their favorite customer. In fact, they treat everyone who walks in the door like their favorite customer! This place is everything a hifi store should be. The store is always organized and clean. Everyone here works hard and is always going the extra mile. Can’t say enough good things about Hawthorne Stereo!

Diane McAteer: They were great! They really helped me for myTECHNICS received. So good.

Marc Tennesen: Shopping at Hawthorne Stereo a great experience. Everyone who works there is both very knowledgeable and very helpful

Henry Bischofberger Violins - by APPOINTMENT: what do users think?

Chao Péter Yang: Extremely nice people with extremely nice violin

Sara St John: Henry is the real deal for anything regarding violins.

Solveig Gaines: I have had several great repairs done here throughout the years. New neck, fingerboard, bridge, new pegs and I bought a shoulder pad here that lasted 20 plus years. I came with one of my students to see if she can go from half size to full size. The assistant was honest and said she really should get a 3/4 size. In the last year I had 2 students who went from renting here to purchasing 2 beautiful violins. One of the violins is much better than mine and they really didn’t pay that much for it. I am now considering selling mine and buying a new one from them.

Patricia Erkan: Wonderfully friendly people and great service!

Ellen T: We rented a violin from Henry's a year ago, and it's been smooth sailing. Even when a string broke, they fixed it the next day. Today we brought in a violin we bought elsewhere with tuning peg issues. Quick online scheduling got us a prompt appointment today. As others mentioned, Henry and Debbie are thoughtful and professional, showing genuine care for instruments and customers. Warm welcome, fair prices, and detailed explanations about the repair process. Definitely the right place to go. Thank you Henry and Debbie!

Delicia Liu: Such a nice place to rent and buy strings from. Make sure you book your appointment online before heading there.

Debra Morrison: Great service from a seasoned expert in a casual environment. Educational and inspiring!

Jun Fani: to have them look at our rental violin

Bill Jones: They are thoughtful and expert in what they do, and the customer service is great! I know how important a quality instrument can be even for a beginner, and I could tell I went to the righht place.

Nancy C: I highly recommend doing business here, whether it’s repairs or purchasing or renting a string instrument. Professional, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and honest.

Jonathan Li On Wing: Henry Bischofberger Violins have great customer service. They are helpful and easy to work with. I would use them again whenever we will need a string instrument.

Jill Cummins: Very knowledgeableVery helpfulVery pleasant experience!

Gig Harbor Audio: what do users think?

Patrick Ellis: I’ve purchased new and used speakers, amps and other products over the years and have nothing but great things to say! Very thankful to Erik and the team for bringing their passion and knowledge to all of us here in Gig Harbor.

Ronald Babb: Great shop for high end audio equipment and records. I bought a Transcriptor turntable from them and today an LP I have been looking for. Helpful and friendly.

Mark Salum: is knowledgeable, friendly, and a true gentleman. This is the place to go to purchase hifi equipment.

calvin glomstad: After searching the Puget Sound north and south I discovered the answer to my desperate search was right in my town.Eric at Gig Harbor Audio did not hesitate a second when I asked if they worked on Bang and Olufsen equipment. His response was “We specialize in it.”Obviously, they do. My Beogram 4002 turntable was in need of some expertise beyond my own. Eric kept me updated on the repair progressas his tech crew diagnosed the problem. He even sent me a video of its performance after repaired. This shop is truly a local gem but would be well worth any drive knowing that your treasured vintage audio components will be handled by professionals that treat you like you are the most important customer. Prices are very fair. That coupled with great customer service will make you glad you discovered this jewel of a business. The ever changing showroom of incredible audio gear ain’t bad to visit either.

Leilani Mutu: Came across this diamond in the rough. Recently moved to the area from the east coast and was extremely surprised to find a great selection of albums that were in pristine condition for a price that almost had me rushing the transaction because it seemed to good to be true. The reality is this, no gimmicks, just good-old fashioned customer relationships between buyer and seller. I hope no one finds this place so I can keep coming back as soon as I re-up! Thanks for being real Erik, I truly appreciate the experience!

Cindy Schumacher: Just moved to Gig Harbor from CO and needed a knowledgable place to wall mount a number of TVs including Soundbars and set up a meshed network. Jonathan and Erik did not disappoint. They did what they said they would do and when they said they would do it. The configuration is exactly what I was looking for and everything works as intended. I am so glad I was able to find a local firm that is top notch. I am now finalizing having them replace my existing window coverings with Lutron automated blinds. Gig Harbor Audio will definitely be my goto going forward. These guys are fantastic and highly recommend.

Seth Young: Erik at Gig Harbor Audio facilitated an Audiogon sale between myself and another customer. At the time of the sale, both the other customer and myself were out of the country but Erik helped us complete our transaction and afterwards, assisted me with getting additional items I was looking for AND shipping everything from the Tacoma area to the Chicago area. Everything was accomplished via e-mail and phone. Erik was on top of every step and honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this interaction. So locally or nationally, I highly recommend Erik and Gig Harbor Audio.

Ben LoBue: Fantastic shop. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Reliable for repairs and equipment recommendations + a solid selection of vinyl

Frans Keylard: Deep, knowledge, and thoughtful selection of gear. Some really good used deals as well, well worth visiting.

Joey Baddour: . Best thing is my wife actually enjoys visiting the shop too. If you’re looking for new or used audio gear, GHA is a must stop.

Bryan Mann: Beutiful store with a wonderful showroom and equipment. The owner helped me over the phone before I came in to the store for an equipment audtion. It was a great experience and I would happily recommed this store to anyone interested in purchasing Stereo or other AV/automation gear.

Jim Meyer: Always a pleasure to visit Gig Harbor Audio. A fair and knowledgeable HiFi shop that is beautiful to boot.

Anna Yemets: The place has an unforgettable ambiance, and selection of rare records and cd's is unparalleled. The owners are people of utmost integrity, kind hearts, and class, all of which are rare these days. Their superb artistic taste is evident from the visit. Even the t-shirts they sell are awesome! Soft fabric and unique design. Even if you don't live in GH, it's worth the drive.
