Urban Surf: what do users think?

Aaron Thornburg: Always helpful for my water sport needs. Brett and his efoil lessons were amazing - both patient and helpful. Highly recommend!

D H: Get your OneWheel here!Knowledgeable staff, deep inventory, nice people, awesome location. Top notch operation.

Janie Booth: I had an eFoil lesson with Brett in Lake Washington. He is an excellent instructor - patient, thorough, and very encouraging. The equipment was really nice too. If you are thinking about trying efoiling, contact Urban Surf and go for it. YOLO!

Kevin Pike: The eFoil lesson with Urban Surf was definitely worth it. The team reached out soon after payment, worked with my schedule, and found great conditions for the lesson. The instructor did a great job breaking down how to ride the eFoil. Riding was super fun! Boardsport experience translates into eFoiling but it’s still a fun challenge. Definitely pull the trigger on a lesson if you’re considering it — it’s worth it..Thanks Matt and Brett for an awesome lesson!

Ramy Shoker: Best surf shop in Seattle. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great selection that you won’t find anywhere else. Set me up with all my surfing needs and will be for the foreseeable future!

holdenk2: Brett is the best! My first lesson on an efoil was great, just the right amount of feedback & letting me experiment. After figuring out how to plane, getting the board to foil was a wild experience. Highly recommend!

Can Hatipoglu: Brett was a fantastic e-foil instructor. I was able to stand up within 15 minutes, had a blast on the lake!

JM Malinchak: This was awesome. Fun to learn. If you’re comfortable riding a board, you should be up and riding within the hour. Don’t get me wrong It’s not press-go like a jet ski, took a couple tries to get up. Then learning to carve a turn, not simple, but so satisfying when you do your first without wiping out. I’ve done board sports all my life. Foiling is like nothing else. You have to try it.

Glen Gaidos: Just had an e-foil lesson with Brett, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in giving the sport a try. He was friendly, patient, and a great instructor, and it's a lot of fun. Plus, Urban Surf was really great about resheduling when I had to change the original lesson time. If you're thinking about it, go for it!

Carly Kienow: Super friendly, thorough, and knowledgeable staff!!! Can't wait for my next SUP rental this week!!!

Max Tynan: Great instructors, great fun

Alison Poulsen: I had a fantastic time on my EFoil lesson with Brett from Urban Surf. He is an outstanding instructor. I couldn’t believe my progress and my lack of wiping out. And I think both were due to his good explanations, and just having me learn everything gradually on the right equipment. I highly recommend beginners or intermediate, and advanced to take lessons from Brett. It was really fun.

Phil Sheperd: Had an efoil lesson with Brett. It was absolutely amazing. He helped me learn the basics and was very informative with how to correct what I was doing wrong. It is an amazing way to go from zero to riding.

Amanda Cox: . If you're thinking about it, I'd say do it: it's fun even if you have no experience.

Acacio Domar: Had an efoiling lesson with Brett. It was amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. He was incredible at explaining the steps, breaking things down and giving tips and making adjustments. He adapted perfectly to my pace of learning, and I never felt unnecessarily slowed down or pressured to move faster in any way. I loved it so much I might just do it again to experience more board configurations. Additionally, Brett was incredibly passionate about the sport and would enthusiastically discuss and answer my million questions/comments. You’ll be given everything you need to have a great and safe time on the water. Thank you Brett and the team at Urban Surf. Now if only my wallet was this happy about my new potential hobby.

Lee Weiland: Gear, surfboard, and Efoil. Perfect experience. Flew from Alaska to get gear. 4mm suit, hood, and board. Had everything necessary. They helped with every detail. Plus they made availability for an Efoil lesson and due to a scheduling error even extended my time to 3 hours. Met the owner Matt who was very helpful and so was Brett the instructor and all of staff. Learned, stood, and glided.

Michael W.: This was hands down the most fun sports experience I've done. It's amazing to be up there on that board! Our instructor Brett was super helpful, accommodating, and fun! Will definitely do this again!

Adrian Carranza Jr: Not from Washington state but I did just conclude my stay here, and if you want to go paddle boarding I recommend checking these guys out! Super friendly, they allow you to rent a board and they show you how to properly set it up if it's your first time using a paddle board! Will definitely stop by with these guys again in the foreseeable future!

Salmon Bay Paddle: what do users think?

Lauren Takahashi: These guys are so awesome!  Rob was super helpful squeezing me in last min for lessons during the busy holiday season.  Coach Robert was extremely knowledgeable and patient, and tailored the lessons for the specific trip I was preparing for.  He took the time to talk through the gear I would most likely be provided with on the trip - and how it would function and differ from what we were using in the lessons.  I really appreciated his attention to detail and thoroughness!  He helped me greatly with stroke efficiency and I left our lessons feeling confident about my trip.  My time learning from him was invaluable and allowed me to have a safe, fun, and amazing time on the trip.  Wonderful experience with Salmon Bay Paddle, highly recommend them!

chris davis: Booked a half day two person surf ski lesson with Rob. He provided detailed instructions on how to set up and take care of your gear, including options and considerations for buying with specific differences between models before we got out on the water. Once we got out, his instructions, feedback and coaching were fantastic. Rob followed up after the lesson immediately with detailed notes and instructions on what to look for and where to buy gear. If you’re new to paddling or looking for more knowledge of the paddling areas around the PNW, I would highly recommend taking a lesson and or doing a guided expedition with Salmon Bay Paddle. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot too! Overall a great experience. Thanks Rob!

Jason Fontenot: Booked a day surf ski lesson with Salmon Bay Paddle. I had a fantastic time with Rob He provided detailed background on surf ski's, helped me understand the options and considerations for buying and the differences between models, instructions and consistent coaching. If you’re new to paddling or paddling in the PNW, I would highly recommend taking a lesson and or doing a guided expedition with Salmon Bay Paddle. Top notch. I'll be coming back.

Savage Rolleye: Had a fantastic time with Rob and his co-coach Jac! They both provided detailed instructions and consistent coaching. If you’re new to paddling or paddling in the PNW, I would highly recommend taking a lesson and or guided expedition with Salmon Bay Paddle!

Chris Hughes: but there really is no substitute for the amount of attention & coaching you get in a one on one class. I did a downwind and just kind of “all around” SUP class with Rob in the Puget Sound and I had so much fun. I learned a bunch of new techniques and he improved on what I thought I already knew. He has an alumni FB group for his students and said I can hit him at any time for more advice.Great value for money, I would do that class again in a heartbeat. Thanks Rob!

Trina Hahn: Anyone who paddles in the Puget Sound will benefit from taking Robert Nissenbaum's Tides and Currents course. After taking his class, I feel more prepared navigating through the different conditions of the Puget Sound. Robert's class provides helpful information that is for any level of kayaker, paddle boarder, or anyone else interested in a new paddlesport. Robert is a wonderful and knowledgeable instructor who makes learning new concepts easy and fun. His teaching style is approachable and casual and he is passionate about sharing this crucial information to keep paddlers safe and prepared. Whether in a classroom or on the water, I strongly recommend Robert's classes and will definitely be taking more Salmon Bay Paddle classes in the future!

Mike Liddell: I took a 3hour one-on-one novice surfski lesson with Rob and had a really great experience. Rob is hugely knowledgeable and also very patient with newcomers. I went in hoping to get the early tips that everyone wishes they had at the start of a new sport and Rob's lesson was spot on - stability tips, paddling technique, boat handling, boating conventions and etiquette, safety and gear info etc. My basic paddling in chop was going well so Rob also helped me make a start on wake riding and the concepts for down-winding. Once I get some more experience I'll be back for more. Thanks Rob!

Iman Elarabi: My son had 3 sessions with Jac one of Salmon Bay Paddle instructors and it was one of the best experiences ever. He learned a lot about the board, being safe in the water, the tide and currents and had lots of fun paddling around as well. Important to mention how Rob was really helpfu to coordinate these classes smoothly. Highly recommend these classes and looking forward to register my son in more class with Salmon Bay

Maria Liquori: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueProvides a great range of sports services. Very well organized events and classes.

Jennifer Bowman: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,ResponsivenessI thoroughly enjoyed my class on currents, tides and navigation held at deception pass this weekend. His attention to detail and patience was thoroughly enjoyable.

Erika O'Leary: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI have had the great pleasure of having classes with Robert on back to back weekends. He is professional, friendly, and very skilled at this instruction. I'll be back for classes over and over again.

Andrei Lopatenko: it's a great place to take kayak classesI learned from Robert in a private classHe helped me to advance a lot, especially in recovery techniques, strokers and many other thingsHe is a very devoted coach giving very helpful individualized instructions. Also he helped me a lot with selecting gearI highly recommend Salmon Bay Paddle

Carlos Ochoa: I took the ultimate lesson and it is a positive life changing experience, the knowledge of the instructors is both deep and wide, they are resourceful, patient, and not only great watermen professionals but also great teachers and guides. Taking a lesson with them is a must, without regard of your level. You will get also nice pics to show off.

Andrew Lohrmann: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueI took the Sup 2 with them on Saturday. It was a very rewarding experience. The instructor, Harry, was adaptable, informative and very knowledgeable of paddle boarding. He made three hours feel like 15 minutes and taught me a whole new way to see Seattle.

Yamil Merced: I wish everyone could take a class or two with Rob so that we could have more safe and prepared paddlers. Very fun and interesting experience. I learned about local water conditions, equipment, technique, safety and local places to go paddle. Great investment overall. I’m planning on signing up for more classes with Rob and his team.

Sue Rogers: I took the SUP Basics 102 Course after corresponding with Rob Casey about my goals and experience with SUP. Having all of this amazing water to explore in my back yard, it is important to me that I do it safely. I rode home after the session- even more excited bout this sport than before. I was amazed how much we covered in our first session and I can't wait to continue to take more lessons and classes from Salmon Bay Paddle. I drove home with a deep appreciation of the work that I need to l operate safely out on the water and a clear picture of what I need to do to get to my goals thanks to the recourses, experience gained in the Basics 102 session and his patient instruction. The class not only was informative but challenge me as well.

John Grauer: Rob and Harry are outstanding SUP instructors. They know the paddle board industry and are willing to share there knowledge to make you better. Rob excels in the technical areas and his teaching provides insight in helping you increase your skills. I have taken the instructor training and the Deception Pass's tidal rapids class and both experiences were outstanding. The classes were held in epic places in the PNW. Salmon Bay Paddle will make you a better paddler and you will have a good time doing it!!

patrick ragen jr: Harry is a terrific instructor! I highly reccomend him for his patience, attention to detail and enthusiasm. Whether you're a beginner or just want to improve your skills, he can get you started quickly and up your game. He focuses on safety, theory and technique, and made sure everyone had fun. Booked him recently and despite challenging conditions, everyone came away feeling great about their experience.

L M: Just like the other reviewers, I can't say enough positive things about my experience with Rob of Salmon Bay Paddlers. With COVID preventing my other sport, I've been paddleboarding a lot lately on Lake Sammamish. I've only done rec paddleboarding on holidays before so I wanted to check out formal training so that I could improve my skills and feel safe going out on the Sound or other larger, busier bodies of water that I'm far less familiar with.Rob is a wealth of information, I'm a rower so I have some water skills but not others and he was perfect at covering what I needed and skipping past what I already knew. He answered a variety of my questions about everything from currents to wetsuits to boards to racing.I walked away feeling he's not only the expert but he really loves both paddleboarding itself as well as helping others enjoy paddleboarding. I can't wait to sign up for more training from him.

Ethan Gibson: My boyfriend and I took the SUP Basics class with Rob. He was super informative, patient, and a great teacher overall. With the COVID-19 pandemic going on, I really appreciated the extra steps he took to make sure we were all properly distanced and safe.Rob provided good, no-nonsense advice from buying a board to making sure you're not an idiot on the water. Highly recommended.

Thunderbird SUP Stand Up Paddling: what do users think?

Dan Cusack: PRO-TIP: This is the absolute best place for Summer Fun in Seattle! The staff always has smiles for miles & the gear is amazing. When your the size of Tyrion Lannister & Weeman, gear can be a worry. Carrying a SUP-Board isn’t easy for me, but the ThunderbirdSUP crew has made it easy everytime:•The lifejackets are stylish & safe•The boards are stable, fast & easy to useHopefully we’ll cross paths down there this summer! Looking forward to making a few more friends.

evo Seattle Store: what do users think?

Elizabeth Ambrus: to go through an in-depth fitting with me and to explain all of the nuances along the way. And I ended up with a phenomenal pair of boots! Would 100% recommend coming to evo for any ski and snowboard services!

mark hetrick: I had an issue with binding mounting recently that was enough to be very noticeable. After a few phone calls and of three times sending me to someone else who could supposedly help I just went to the store in Seattle. I live 3 hrs away including a ferry ride, so not a trivial trip. I’m happy to say EVO made it right and gave me a new off the rack same pair of skiis and mounted properly. So a bit of a runaround but fully satisfied with the solution! Great guys in the shop!!!!

Loten Lhatsang: Came to get new snow board boots and equipment and had an amazing time with Joe. He answered all my questions and I’m very satisfied with my purchase!

barbara kielhofer: GET YOUR BOOTS HERE! I thought I was cursed to a lifetime of foot pain but after not one but two days of adjustments my life has been changed...they even said to come back if it gets bad again. Customer service through the roof to get you the perfect fit. They actually care and how many places can you say that about these days?

William Briere: and evo still did heat molding for me on them

Robert Galvin: A few different people helped me buy a few different pieces of ski gear and they are all super friendly and knowledgeable, 10/10 would buy from them again

Ethan Busse: Shoutout Dan! My gf needed to get her boots fitted as they were a size and a half too small. Dan was eager to help and did an amazing job getting them to fit perfectly!

Gravity Sports: what do users think?

Neydi: Unfortunately we did not get the name of the person working the shop but he was very knowledgeable, chatty, and welcoming. Lots of gear ranging from rollerskates, boards, helmets, etc. Looking for a local shop to support? Look no further!

George Chvoj: This is not only a great skate shop. They also sell and service the only US made Dale ski boots. One of the buckles on my boot broke and Mike did a great job fixing it. That resulted in good savings for me.

Kirsten: Was introduced to this shop from an old coworker back in 2021 and I love this shop super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have bought two board from here and both are great! Purple one was my first board bought in 2021 vector one was bought 2023 🙂going to go back soon and buy some pink wheels!

Daniel Simons: I went in today looking for some new wheels for my longboard. The gentleman working there was extremely helpful and friendly, he showed me a selection of wheels and helped me pick the best option based on how I ride, plus he showed me how to install the new wheels on my board. I'm just bummed I forgot to ask for his name, but I'll definitely be back the next time I need something for my board!

Thomas Germain: Best skate shop experience I've ever had. Picked up skates and some odds and ends for snowboard and skateboard. Great prices, lower than Internet.

Jacob Billy: The owner Mike runs the shop. He was able to quickly find a solution to replace one of my snowboard toe bindings. Truly one of the kindest & helpful dudes you’ll meet. More than fair prices! If you need help with any sports gear and not sure where to start, Mike is the man.

Rose B: This place is so special. Old school. Kids built-their-own skateboards and the owner was phenomenal. Keep this place alive, they don’t don’t make ‘em like this anymore!

Reese: Authentic and genuine long lasting skate shop. Loved my experience here!

Mika Andrew: Bought skates here two years ago and came back recently for more parts. The staff are super helpful and friendly and interested in getting you what you want/need.

Chanchai Khantiko: Awesome people!! And the puppy Bella was chill. I love my new skateboard thanks again!!

josh murray: Great place Mike was very professional and put my skate together very well right in front of me.

Cristopher: Support your local skate shop! Much love guys 🤙

Grant Wiggins: support this shop for any skate needs. forget about zumies

Chris Saffel: Fantastic experience from end to end! My daughter and I went to check the place out and David walked her through the whole build, showing her how to assemble the entire board. The experience was a great reminder of what customer service is supposed to be! Do not buy on line, and do not buy from a Big Box! Go here, and you’ll be glad you did!

Clara: This place is unlike any shop I've ever been in! The owner is so kind and attentive. He walked me through everything I needed to know and helped me pick out all the right gear. He made sure I tried on everything, it fit, and adjusted what needed adjustment. I walked in totally clueless and left with everything I needed. The space itself is beyond rad- check out the ceiling, it's a museum in and of itself!

Michael Cunningham: Awesome Local Skate shop. One of the oldest in WA state. Very knowledgeable and patient with my son and I. Shots out to Mike for being so cool!

Perfect Wave Surf Shop: what do users think?

Kimberly Stein: Favorite surf and paddleboard shop ever!!!

Keith Harkness: Keeping the aloha spirit alive !This is my favorite surfshop .

Dustin Hill: Bobby and his team are quick to respond, know heaps about everything water-sport related and are easy to work with. Great prices and quality boards and gear. 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone in the Kirkland area.

Adam Quintana: Great place, feels just like a local shop in HI or SoCal, just in a backyard in Kirkland. Got a repair done and ended up buying a new SUP too. Repairs are not cheap but are done very professionally. Worth the money for a bad ding or something you care about looking decent. Was easy to communicate with, I would call before going especially in the summer because he does go back and forth to the lake where he does rentals.Bobby is super knowledgeable and if you are looking for a new board he will definitely get you to the right one that will fit your needs.

Brent Hermanson: Rosemary was very helpful. My wife is very excited to try out her new stand-up paddle board.

Jordan Richter: Bobby is awesome and has been more than helpful in not only getting us our board, but also helping us learn how to ride it! I highly recommend him and his shop if you want an amazing customer service experience and great products in the Kirkland and Bellevue area!

Elizabeth Hart: Very responsive and easy to work with. They had just the board I was looking for when I was checking out their website, so I called to see if I could come look in person. When I arrived, the owner had the board already pulled out and ready to be looked at. Great customer service, fair pricing and friendly dog!

Will Dovgalyuk: The owner is a cool solid dude, definitely recommend this place!

Janette Bergen: Great experience!! Very knowledgeable about all products. Love my boards!!

Brian Eisenlohr: Great pricing for repairs; best prices in the area, and nice staff. Will go again!

Bill H: Well, what can I say... I am very happy with my experience purchasing a new SUP Board today. It was a no pressure experience and the folks that own the business were very knowledgeable on their products. They were very attentive in listening to my needs and how I intended to use the SUP Board. I asked lots of questions and got answers- they asks questions and I gave them my answers, and so together we were successful in determining which board would be best suited for my needs. Its also really nice when you can work with a local independent small business. Sure, anybody can order stuff online... but you don't get that personalized experience like I did today. I highly recommend supporting small business and I would/will recommend Perfect Wave Surf Shop to anyone that is interested in SUP boarding. Whether it is just to become familiar with the sport or the intention to purchase.. You will be happier having taken the time to swing by and have a chat with these folks.
