He also made sure to explain the why of what he was recommending, so I learned things as well.I see some reviews complaining about not being proactively offered assistance by an employee. I did have to approach someone to ask for help. I found that was a bit more difficult because it didn't seem like the employees had identifying name tags or uniforms and I came when some were on their lunch break, so I asked the person at the register. But to me that seems like a minor thing. If you want help, ask for it.Very glad I came here.

Christian Gonzalez: Best wood selection and prices around. You can find the sizes you need of most lumber. I really wish they had some hours on weekends, I would buy much more often if that was possible.
Brian Connolly: A wide variety of wood, and better prices than the big box stores. They sell most hardwoods by the board foot and label each board. Many species you likely haven't heard of before. You can browse to find the piece that works for your project. I haven't used them, but there are a couple bins of cutoff pieces sold by the pound.

I thought maybe as a paying customer who is spending $1000 would be OK making them stay up in five minutes late. But they are so adamant about getting out of there at 4 that it is stressful and awkward and makes me not want to go in the store, but their wood it’s so damn good and one of the only places to get it. I’m sure if you can get in there earlier the guys are very helpful and it is a much more pleasurable experience.

The driver along with two other employees were very professional and friendly I highly recommend Compton for all your lumber and other renovation supplies.

Teresa Still: Go here!!! Don’t waste your time running around anywhere else. I went to six different places to find awful customer service and nothing even close to what I needed. Matt at Limback was so nice on the phone, took the time to look and see that he had everything I needed which was Red Oak for trim around my front doors. When I arrived he had it setting aside for me, it looked wonderful and worked exactly like I needed it too. The other gentleman loaded it up for me and I was in and out in 10 minutes.They were awesome, I highly recommend!!
Shannon Newman: Limback Lumber has been nothing but spectacular. Lots of options for wood and trim, and they will do some cuts to size at no charge. We needed to order a very thick/large piece of wood for our mantel and they arranged it with their supplier and cut it to size for us. Responsive and nice to work with, and prices are reasonable. Will be going there for all of our wood needs in the future!

It was more than I anticipated, but these guys were SO helpful! Not only did they recommend certain products, but one of the recommendations was out of stock. Come to Stewart if you want quality merchandise competitively priced, with exceptional customer service from knowledgeable staff who quietly, consistently get the repeat business from the pros that know. There are only a few legacy lumber yards in Seattle, Stewart has been around for as long as they have because they do it all correctly. Found myself there yesterday post getting a re-use it piece of furniture that needed a little love. Rockler had a piece of hardware that worked. Of coarse I browsed the store and got a few other ideas, and one of the employees gave me a tip to make a V groove cut using a table saw, I could not pay the price of the router bit of the same for just one particular cut at this time. - Thanks. A no sale on that particular one item, but made a customer for future sales. I really appreciate that type of business.
Eric Johnson: I love Rockler, and specifically the Tukwila branch, as that is the one I shop at. I'm a woodturner and Rockler carries many of the things I use, such as tools, blanks, and exotic lumber. If I was into other types of woodworking, I'd still shop here. They are stocked with woodworking necessities. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

Clark Skillman: The quintessential local hardware store with just about everything you need for your home or backyard improvement/repair. Especially useful when your quick 2 hour Saturday afternoon project creeps into Sunday.There isn't much that is too frivolous or a waste of store space. It's also easier to navigate the medium size shop than Home Depot, but has much more in variety of product than the average tiny Ace Hardware. So when forgetting to get that one key item the first time turns into 2 entire extra trips all the way to Home Depot. Going to Stoneway saves you time on every part of those unexpected extra trips.The employees are both very knowledgeable and friendly/funny. I've asked some impressively stupid questions and received at most a hint of eye roll before an eager desire to fully understand the problem and then a quick discussion of the best path forward.
Jon Schulman: Stoneway Hardware's secret is their nearly endless selection of small hardware. Not only do they carry nuts, bolts, and washers in every dimension, thread size, and material - the staff is equally knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.

Kit Lewis: The most helpful, most knowledgeable folks in the best hardware store in Seattle. You can get anything here for projects big or small. I love that you can buy just one nail or bolt or nut or washer, because that's all you need for your 100-year-old cabinet hinge in your 100-year-old house. Ask any question, they know the answer and they'll tell you with a smile and wrap it in wry wit. These people know their hardware and their customers. The best there is.

SUSAN MILLS: Had the cabinets we were looking for and for much less than expected. It's also interesting to see what other items they have.
Heather Shults: branch didn't have enough of what I needed. There was a small parking lot that seemed potentially shared with the other businesses. Had to take a lot of turns to get to the store.I asked for help and one of the workers immediately walked with me to help find what I needed. I'd brought a sample of hardwood from my house so he matched it to the wood and then started picking out enough for the amount of space I had. He was really helpful and made sure I had the exact amount I needed.I didn't get to explore the store since I got there towards closing, but it looked gorgeous - lots of older things and antique things. I feel like I could get lost browsing around.

Egirl Kalamanani: Great concept and I really like the name. Been here several times to find treasures to repurpose. I've purchased parts of a chandelier and turned them into garden art. Everything sold here is useful for original purpose, too. They do a really good job organizing even though it's a bit tight getting around. Not a good place for bringing kiddos that can't keep their hands out of things and like to run around.
