Portage Bay Cafe - South Lake Union: what do users think?

paulharps: The service that we received here was excellent, so much so we told the manager. Unfortunately I did not catch his name but he had long dark hair put in a pony tail. Clear explanations of all the food and drink items, very attentive to our needs, nothing was too much. The food was very tasty and came out in a timely manner. Cannot give the food a 5* as the Benny was good, but not amazing, the pancakes however were great.

Ali: We dined in here for the breakfast, and we found the food just normal in comparison with other restaurants in Seattle. We ordered omelet and avocado toast and both were good in terms of portions, but the bread was over thick which leaves over balanced combination in the bite. The black coffee wasn’t up to the quality, and the same with “fresh squeezed orange juice”.

Terri Nielsen: electronically and then was able to go still somewhere not so congested and waut fir a text notification. The second it was a paper list, which made me feel unsure as we all stood or sat in the hallway waiting for our names to be called. but it turned out fineWhen I had finished my meal, I got up to get a piece of fresh fruit from the buffet to take with me and was planning to sit and finish my coffee before departing. However, a matrodee cleared my table. My waitress was not far behind when I returned to my table so I could pay and be on my may.Overall, the restaurant was very enjoyable for breakfast, and I would definitely return if I am ever back in the area.Dietary restrictions: Offered a non-pork sausage option.

Bobby T: . However, the rest of my experience was amazing. Our server, Chrissy, was unlike any I've ever encountered. She was incredibly professional, knowledgeable about the menu, and detailed in explaining how each dish was prepared. It was an unbelievable experience, and if you visit, make sure to ask for her. She will give you a dining experience like no other. The highlight of my visit was definitely her service. The food was outstanding. We tried the clam chowder, which was excellent, and the mimosas, which came in different flavors and were delightful. The salmon was incredibly flavorful, and the appetizers were amazing. Every aspect of my dining experience at this restaurant was fantastic, and I will definitely be returning.A special thanks to Chrissy for her phenomenal service and for creating such a wonderful experience for us. She truly elevated the art of serving to a whole new level. I would also like to mention the manager who came to our table; it was a nice touch. Overall, I would give this place 10 stars because five stars are simply not enough for this exceptional restaurant.

Will Oberst: Superb wedding venue, great for all weather conditions

Mary Wynn: 30 years ago, minus 2 days, we had our wedding reception at Saltys. We stopped by today on our way home from a night in Seattle and decided to swing through West Seattle. Randomly, we thought we would step into Saltys for some random skyline photos, then it dawned on us..our anniversary was 2 days away. We had not planned on staying but they were so great and we thought it was very nostalgic. Mara the manager treated us like royalty. She sprinkled the table with rose petals, gave us a signed staff congratulations card, drinks on the house, cake to die for and John F, the server was a top notch professional. There is a reason we had spent so much time there through the years, but this day was over the top special and the staff sealed the deal. We have been away too long. One of the photos was from 30 years ago. Thank you John F and Mara.

Andy Derscheid: Always a great experience here, for locals and tourists alike. You can't beat the view and the service, and the food and presentation match its quality. Plenty of fresh seafood and excellent steaks. Definitely get the seafood chowder no matter what you order. Solid cocktails and truly top notch service. All in all a fantastic experience.Parking: There is on-site parking but the spots are small, so leave the full size trucks at home.

akain: JAY FROM ENHYPEN RECOMMENDED THIS‼️👀

Emerson Butler: and was so knowledgeable and friendly! Our waitress, Megan, was attentive, made fantastic recommendations, and just provided some of the best service we have ever had.Even Benny the busboy was right on time to clear our appetizer plates and other dishes! If your busboy has made it into my review you have really made good hiring choices!!And that’s just the people. The FOOD. The food was to die for. To start we got the Thai chili prawns, and the moved on to a crab-stuffed sturgeon and a halibut with mushroom risotto. To finish up we got a crème brûlée and the delicious cake you can see in the photos

Kennedy Farmer: This is my first review I’ve ever left because it was such a great experience! My boyfriend and I came for our anniversary and all the staff there made it feel so special! The food and views were great, I highly recommend the crab stuffed steelhead! Our server Ignacio was super friendly and patient when we were being indecisive about how to start our orders. This is a great place to go for a special occasion, we will definitely be returning!

Billy Xia: 5 star view and 3 star food. A solid 4 star seafood restaurant overall. The seafood was fresh but nothing stood out. Definitely on the pricey side but you are there for the view.Note: Not vegan / vegetarian friendly.

Ina Schweitzer: Have always loved this place and we frequent it when we're in Seattle. We were here on 22Feb22 and were very sad to learn it would be closing on 27 Feb for good as the diner just couldn't get over the COVID hump and the landlord didn't care, apparently. Will always be a great food memory!

Heather Boyce: Great food and service! It is about the homiest spot in the area and you can tell everyone comes here, local and tourists alike. Hope to be able to get back for more biscuits and gravy soon!

Emmy Dorchak: Now closed!Old review:We come here weekly to get the swedish style pancakes. The staff is outstanding and service is speedy. The portions are huge and it's just as good every time.

Fungus Quinn: Bacon was a bit less rich than expected. Very mid.In house chili was nothing special but a good hearty classic chili. Although they did put a lot of onion on top- a bit weird.French toast was also nice. Highly recommend getting marrionberry jam with the pancakes or French toast.Pancakes are bit fried around the edges - my party quite enjoyed thatOverall I would eat here again.

Spoog: Servers were so kind and the food was super amazing.

Demeris Young: 🍳🌊 Breakfast Bliss at Lowell's Restaurant! 🍴✨Our Seattle adventure kicked off with a mouthwatering morning feast at Lowell's! 🌅🥓 From the Market Breakfast delights to those panoramic water views, every moment was pure perfection! 💖🍳 And that buttery toast? Worth every single bite! 🍞😋 Who else dreams of starting their day with a view like this? 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ #LowellsBreakfast #MarketHideawayKid-friendliness: Any kid who likes exploring would enjoy this place as there are different views and the building is atructed by 3 floors enough space to move about.

Anshul Patro: Hey, I had a great time at this seafood restaurant in Pike Place Market. I tried their crab cake and fish and chips, and they were both delicious! The restaurant has three levels, with a bar on the second level. The staff was really friendly, and you can get a great view of the water from the restaurant. The only downside is that it can be hard to find parking in the area.

Dorothy Ooko: Great place to have lunch and take in the amazing views in the Pike market. There is always a queue where you pay and order and then the food is brought to where you are. Their fish and chips is really extra... crunchy on the outside and moist inside, it's a must have. The clam chowder was also highly recommended by the locals and it didn't disappoint! The staff are very friendly and accommodating.

Ann Wu: We initially went to the Portage Bay Cafe - Roosevelt location. However, the line was insanely long and the hostess was rude. We decided to go to the 65th location instead. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and enjoyed it very much. The fig jam adds in a different complexity into the sandwich, on top of the smoky Gouda cheese and a hint of flavor from the arugula. The egg was fluffy and complemented so well with the crispy potato bread. Portion sizes are decent and I got to bring half a sandwich home! Our waiter was kind and attentive; atmosphere was comfortable and cozy.

Chris Fr: I have never eaten at this restaurant but the food looks good

Carlos Vargas: Pretty good food although the area it's in is unsavoryRecommended dishes Biscuits and Gravy …

Tony Illes: One of my favorite spots in all of Seattle! The staff is helpful and kind and a vibe! One of my favorite people that works at this location is Frankie, I love his willingness to engage and ask questions about how I’m doing.Overall, this is my favorite location the BB. Will see me coming in more!Hope everyone is well

Pau-Lin Ngen: . The spicy sausage was crisp and I found the picked jalapeños were crucial to cut through the richness. Wish there was a second runny egg to mix my biscuits into but was yummy otherwise . This dish ended up being too rich for me and I wasn’t able to finish it as I found myself close to falling into a carb coma but for my first biscuits, gravy and grits experience it was a good one! Also found the storefront to be charming as my dog became transfixed by the bubbles that they started blowing

Highstrike Grill: what do users think?

Arlene Simonds: Good food and drinks, fast friendly service.

Tasnim Khan: Really liked their food! We ordered French dio sandwich, 206 Burger and Chicken basket! They all were sooo great and the service was great

Marilyn North: Love everything about the place great food great service great prices

Tonjia Linderoth: Ran in for a quick bite, I ordered the corn dog and my lunch mate ordered the C.O.B. hotdog. Both were really good and one came with a good size portion of tots, big enough to share.

NowI'mMe: They don't have an extensive menu but what they do have is delicious! My friends and I went today, on a Sunday afternoon. I so craved pancakes but alas, they were only serving lunch and only until 3:00 p.m.However! I ordered the Street Tacos with Chicken, one friend ordered Nachos, and the third friend ordered Quesadillas. They had dined here a lot so they were familiar with the menu. Sarah had trouble eating her nachos and ended up giving most of them to her husband and me. She thought there would be less cheese and sour cream on them. !! LOL. Her husband wolfed down his quesadillas in no time flat. I liked my street tacos but next time I'll order the nachos. Wow, were they delicious. Lovely thin tortillas with lots of cheese and sour cream. No tomatoes, lettuce, olives, or anything else. Probably boring for most people but I thought they were great. My street tacos were too bland and the chicken was extremely dry. I could barely choke them down. The Italian soda was quite good as was my ice cream sundae. The seriously vanilla bean ice cream came from West Seattle's own Husky Deli and was huge!

Nami N: We haven't been here for a while, but today I came to eat the hamburger. The Highstrike Grill located inside West Seattle Bowling. The menu was new and the burgers and sweet potatoes fried I always ate weren't on the menu. But we chose the one I was interested in from the new menu.We ordered 206 Burger and Tofu Burger. All Burgers and Sandwiches served with choice of fries, tots, side salad, cider slow or grilled veggies.206 Burger: marinaded local Angus, Monterey jack, Crispy onions straws, Bacon, Teriyaki graze, Alley sauce, Toasted brioche bun.Tofu Burger: Pan seared teriyaki marinated Tofu, Sriracha soy straws, sweet chili aioli, Crispy wonton chips, Toasted brioche bun. Both have a satisfying taste, and the tofu is a little sweeter but I enjoyed it.The sweet potatoes fried was delicious before, but now they don't have it, so when I ordered the fried with potato skin and the saltiness was just right. You can enjoy bowling next door, and if you're hungry, you can order food and a full-service lounge serving beer, wine, liquor, and soda.

Timothy Slazinik: Great simple brunch, love the bacon Waffle! and the free games of bowling that come with brunch!

Kalem Fredrick: Surprisingly good food for a place attached to a bowling alley. This place never disappoints. Good service with upscale diner food.

Floyd Tatum: Great fusion food.

Mike Swartz: Good food, good prices, friendly, clean

Richard Bibaud: Family favorite,

We chose goldfinch which was just a hop, skip, and a jump from our hotel. We made reservations and got a seat by the window. The food and drinks were amazing and the waitstaff was even more amazing! They noticed me struggling to take a selfie with me and my friend and offered to take a picture for us. Our water glasses were never more than half empty, and everything was worth the price we paid. They also asked if we had any dietary restrictions when we ordered. Will definitely be going back if I’m ever in Seattle for a special occasion.

That said, almost all inside tables were occupied at the peak of service. I imagine long waits on a Saturday or Sunday... But you've been to a busy brunch before, I don't have to explain the headache to you. From here, we took a leisurely stroll downhill to where we live near the Ballard Bridge. Go even just 1 block west of 15th St for a happy little residential neighborhood of Ballard. Houses seem more quaint and cuddle closer together on thin streets, shifting the power to walkers making it much more enjoyable than driving.

Nathan Nicholas: and it was surprisingly accurate, which was a shock to me because they were so busy and there was a huge line from the second they opened. If you are in Seattle you have got to give this place a try.

Lawrence King III: So many people rave about this place, so I had to try it. I'm not from Seattle but came 2 years ago and loved it. Now I'm back visiting with some family and it was the 1st place we went to eat. I'm a big fan of breakfast food, so I was in absolute heaven. I've had their breakfast sandwiches before but I enjoy the Hot Mess a lot more. It's like you're getting a little bit of everything at the same time. The biscuit is soft, the gravy has great flavor, the grits and eggs go really well with it, and the hot link and jalapenos just top it off perfectly. I could eat it everyday honestly. Every visitor that comes to Seattle, needs to try this place at least once.

jason molidor: Vegetarian options: The Mushroom gravy is banging!

Alan Wong: Order, walk around, visit some shops. It's worth the 45min wait.

Varsity Inn Restaurant: what do users think?

Barbara Bernhard: We didn't eat anything because we just wanted to warm up briefly with coffee and hot chocolate.A lovely diner near Gasworks Park

Alissa C: Doesn't look or sound like a restaurant from the outside but this is such a gem.Portions are massive and delicious - plates are essentially 2 servings for $17-20, or more than enough if you're starving. Either way, plan on taking leftovers! This is one of my favorite places to eat after a long run.I've come here a number of times and here are some of the dishes I've tried:- Taco omelette: delicious. Taco meat was a little on the greasy side but that's what kind of made it tasty.- Classic Benedict: my go-to. Always solid!- Chicken fried steak: incredible gravyGood savory option.- Mediterranean omelette: excellent combination. I love feta with eggs. Would get again.- Denver omelette: eh, suggest skipping. Only had it once but was underwhelming compared to the other dishes.- Pancakes: mediocre, but pancakes as an entree are almost always mediocre compared to other brunch options, imo. They're not bad here but they're just... pancakes. Better to get something else or just get a short stack on the side if you want something sweet.Great service, and the wait after ordering is usually only around 10-15 mins for 2 people. Really quick and attentive even when busy. Overall, I highly recommend this cute and friendly neighborhood diner. The staff are so sweet and they seem to get a lot of regulars, including me!

B Miller: Such a happy place! Love the taco omelets, carnitas, biscuits and gravy, and the staff is the best.Kid-friendliness: Kids love this place and there are toys and coloring materials.Wheelchair accessibility: I don't believe this is wheel chair accessible.

ArcAngel: Beautiful view, delicious coffee and delightful staff. The food was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant was charming. Not too pricey either!Vegetarian options: Many vegetarian options on their breakfast menu such as waffles, french toast, bagels, parfait, omelets and pastries!!

Chris E: First time visiting, during a trip to Seattle. We stopped in for happy hour. We were able to get a table outside. This restaurant is located in the Edgewater Hotel, on the northern end of the Seattle waterfront area. Happy hour prices for drinks are a couple dollars off. And they have a limited food menu. I ordered the wagu sliders, which came with garlic fries. Both were very good, in my opinion. And made a good meal. The weather was fantastic, so that made the experience even better.

Jay X.: , she forgot about us again and never came to pick it back up. At this point its been more than 20 minutes and the wind had picked up so me and girlfriend just walked up to the reception area and waited for someone. For a total of $100+ and $20+ per dish, it was not worth it, considering the lack of service we received.
