Kendra Edwards: UPDATE: We did not end up taking the company up on their generous offer, as it was a little far for us to want to drive back to Seattle so soon, but I did want to update my review and add another star.We found that these candles perform really well when used with a candle warmer, rather than lighting the wick. I've had people comment on the smell of it as soon as they walked into our house when the candle was several rooms away under the warmer.So I'd say keep expectations managed with how well these might perform, but the smells really do get a chance to shine in different situations. It might be better to make the wax melts instead of the candles if looking for a stronger scent.ORIGINAL REVIEW: So my fiancé and I went here on a date, and the experience itself was a lot of fun! The employees were friendly and helpful when choosing scents and we really enjoyed it. The price was pretty expensive for 2 candles, coming it at around $90, but I knew going in we were paying for the actual experience as well not simply a candle.My only real issue is that I just wish the candles were a bit better quality. The candles tunnel horribly even when we made sure to burn until the tops were melted, and waited the two weeks to light it. His also just does not smell very strong at all, but that could be as a result of the scents chosen. Mine is a bit stronger smelling, but still not on the level of other, cheaper candles that I have.All in all, it's a fun date and I don't regret going, I just probably wouldn't go again as the actual candles themselves don't seem to be of the quality that the price reflects.

Ruth: Arranged for the organization I work for to go there as the start of a day retreat. We have a very high rate of diversity and really needed something to help bond us without too much pressure. I thought Elm Candle Bar would be fun for our team who needed a break, but everyone being able to choose their own scents and mix and match them produced something no consultant could ever attempt- cultural safety.Individuality came through so strong in this place and it was what we needed as a team. I highly recommend this as a place for professionals to book and don’t place a limit on what your team can create, you won’t regret it.

If you get the chance to visit, this is definitely the best place for crystals and incense in Cap Hill

Cari Murray: How have I never sang my praises for Alair through a review?! I love Alair so much. It has been my happy place, my candle mecca and my gift-giving savior since the day it opened. You can always find something unique and silly, and the staff is helpful, funny and kind.Highly recommend following them on Instagram if you're not already -- and if you live far away, peruse their online shop asap! They offer curated gift services, which means they'll get as detailed and specific as you ask. I had them create a "happy divorce" package for one friend and a "happy 40th, you're still a college BFF to me!" for another one.Locals, you can also rent the space for private shopping parties during Christmas time -- it's the best way to shop with friends during a busy season!

When we walked in she kind of followed us around "busying" herself. Like refolding already folded blankets right next to us.When we went to leave she had to release the door to let us out. At first this kind of felt like we got locked in. But upon calling the staff said the door was just broken. But without proper signage it definitely felt like we were locked in.Overall good products, weird experience.

Kelly Schutz: I’m not “into” crystals and initially came in to Phantom Quartz to purchase a gift for a friend. But the shop was so pretty and the vibes so good that I’ll probably stop back in myself at some point! Really beautiful and thoughtful displays of different items, and I so appreciated that the staff were totally willing and enthusiastic to help if asked but also were polite about letting shoppers browse on their own without hovering. All the rocks and crystals are labeled with information about their particular powers / strengths and you get a copy of the info card for any that you purchase. I was also very impressed by the cute packaging that comes with a purchase - absolutely perfect for gift giving. I may have felt a little odd going into a shop like this because I don’t consider myself New Age-y or whatever else, but obviously I had preconceived notions and it was sort of fun to dispel those. This was a great experience that made me feel very comfortable looking around and admiring all the pretty things; I’d encourage anyone to stop in no matter your interests!

I was interested in tarot cards and asked the owner Sofia who was at the counter. She kindly answered my question. And I chose the one that I saw from the shelf where the tarot cards were placed. I was immediately surprised to find something I liked.Phantom Quartz carries a variety of curated metaphysical items including, ethically-sourced crystals and minerals, ritual candles, new and vintage books, zines, tarot cards and oracle decks, jewelry, essential oils, soaps, radical nail polish, greeting cards...etc.I would like you to come here and enjoy the healing and spiritual world. You will surely find something like me.
Dragon Migwyn: When a good friend of mine said a new little metaphysical shop had opened up near their house, I was like yeah yeah another crystal shop. But the moment I stepped into Phantom Quartz I was immediately impressed by the energy and aesthetics of the space. Sophia has done a tremendous job of making a beautiful, warm, and inviting atmosphere in a tiny footprint. The selection of crystals is thorough and well curated. Lots of aura quartzes and unusual shaped stones like skulls, mushrooms, and stars. Plus I was able to get some last minute ritual supplies I needed like spell candles and incense. Love it!

Sarah Mabrouk: I recently got a Keratin Complex treatment from Lucy and 10/10 I would recommend. I have very curly and frizzy hair and the treatments I have gotten in the past did virtually nothing for me. After this one my hair is so smooth and shiny, and it has taken my curl and frizz down a lot making it so much more manageable and reducing my drying time by about 50%. If you are on the fence about which treatment to try I highly recommend the keratin complex if you want to reduce your curl and/or frizz.Also have to mention the salon is absolutely beautiful and the staff is all so friendly and welcoming, it was a very comfortable and pleasant experience as smoothing treatments can take a long time.Thanks Lucy and Glam & Tonics staff!
