David Witt: Foundation is such a wonderful place.The trainers do an incredible job with teaching, programming, and scaling workouts to your fitness level.Tony and Andrew have built a welcoming and fun culture. It feels like Cheers, but with barbells.

Steven Pool: classes at my previous gym without ending up on the floor and had just done Festivus, so I walked in thinking I was on my way to "competition ready." Owners Andrew and Tony and their amazing staff of coaches quickly showed me how far I still needed to go and that I wasn't adequately challenging myself. Their programming was next level for me and every class was a schooling both in technique and in regards to what I am personally capable of. I purchased personal training sessions with Coach Ron Hook and he has helped me to level up considerably since I started with him 6 months ago. His professionalism and honed technical skills are apparent in just one class with him, but he has a super supportive, friendly, and an extremely patient approach that compliments his practical knowledge perfectly. He taught me that you aren't pushing yourself hard enough if you DON'T end up on the floor and so that's where I ended every session. The community in this gym is exactly what I've been looking for. It takes time as it does with all groups of people, but I was eventually taken in by a positive atmosphere of friendship and people who support others in their goals. The other members are the kind of goal oriented, driven people that have me getting to class early and hanging around after just so I can catch up and see how their weeks are going. Join this gym and make sure you thank me when you see me there everyday! And, no, Atlas isn't a horse!!

Hilarie Letson: South Seattle CrossFit changed my life. I walked into their facility almost 12 years ago and I immediately felt welcomed, supported, and motivated. I had just had a baby and they helped me to feel stronger than I ever had before. Most importantly, I gained some truly amazing friends. The coaches and owners of the gym are some phenomenal human beings. They are always motivating you and guide you through every workout. I always recommend this gym to everyone I know. Check it out - you won’t regret it.

I work in healthcare during a global pandemic, I wanted to do something about my mental health- I reached out to Rob, he had me in for an initial appointment- we sat and talked about my goals- I said I’m depressed - and want to get in physical shape. As a person with cerebral palsy I was nervous to get started. I worked with Coach Rob, he listened to my concerns and adapted the workouts to my needs- I had self esteem issues as well- being a person with a disability there are very few places I could go feel seen and safe. My one goal at the time was to join a group class, rob was there to guide and support me, the class was powerful - rob cares well for those at RepRoom. I was fortunate enough to start again when so much has changed: me getting older, new coaches and ownership, and of course new friends. There are very accomplished athletes here, as well as those just looking to improve daily fitness. High schoolers to folks that have high schoolers as grandchildren. Everyone is welcomed, and everyone is encouraging.The workouts provided through their app are great, and you can reserve a time in class based on your schedule. It makes it very easy to know what to be prepared for, and to track yourself and see how far you and others have progressed.The hardest step is the first one through the door. Once you do, you'll want to keep coming back to this excellent community dedicated to individual and community growth.

My one caution is that there's a lot of skill and strength required to do a lot of the moves and you really really have to ease into it slowly if you aren't already fit and proficient in the techniques.

Julian Ordman: I've been a Crossfitter for almost 7 years and a regular member at TPH for almost 2 years. TPH is hands down my favorite of the Crossfit gyms I've worked out at. The coaching is top notch, with a focus on safety and scaling workouts to meet the needs of each individual. The programming is thoughtful, with clearly-defined training cycles and routine retesting to measure our progress. And last but not least, the community is extremely friendly and supportive.

I cannot say enough or too many good things about Twenty Pound Hammer. I have a history of various eating disorders, body dysmorphia, and exercise addiction, so I was weary of starting Crossfit, given its generic reputation for being anywhere from culty and overly intense to downright unsafe. TPH IS NONE OF THOSE THINGS. Twenty Pound Hammer has allowed me to feel strong and excited about getting stronger. I come from a 20+ year background in dance and have a group fitness certification myself, so my standards and expectations for coaches/instructors is high. The coaches at TPH exceed them *daily.* They are so so smart, so safe, so kind, and so in tune with the people in the room at any given time. They always lead the group through a thorough and relevant warm up, welcome questions, offer lots of scaling options, share helpful tips and tricks, and in general are just amazing. I firmly believe this is the best Crossfit gym in Seattle. Give the gym a try for a week or a month; they have trial plans to see if TPH is a good fit for you!

Rachel Moorhead: This gym is the best health investment I’ve ever made. Living in the neighborhood, I’d waffled for months over joining—it’s pricier than some other gyms but you get SO MUCH. I do the individualized design program, where I get a 1:1 coach to start, then very small group sessions overseen by a coach as we do our customized strength workouts. It’s like getting private training 3-4 times a week, plus membership includes all the group classes they have running daily.I have some old injuries and the coaches have kept me safe while helping me get much stronger. And the people are the best part! You see the same faces and the community and friendships are awesome. Cannot recommend highly enough.

The staff make sure that you learn the right form and technique in an encouraging way that meets you where you are at. It has a great community that has not only helped fix my hip pain, but also for the first time in my life consistently gotten me into the gym several days a week. Even on my rough days, there is a genuine sense of "glad to see you, way to make some time for yourself." The space is clean and bright, and inviting to workout in. I highly recommend GLSC!

I was a long-time member of Orange Theory & when I moved to Green Lake, I wanted to find a new gym that was first and foremost, convenient. I've never used the barbell & was a little intimidated at first, but I've gotten the swing of it. The best part of the gym is the vibe. It's very laid back & unpretentious. I'm not a fitness guru by any means, and there are people of all skills and experience levels enjoying classes. They allow dogs! I've even seen a baby in a stroller there once & it really made me smile. I don't plan to bring either with me but I looove how welcoming they are. It allows people to make time and space for exercise. It especially gives primary caregivers, who tend to be mothers, the chance to prioritize themselves. I respect the hell out of that kind of culture. My fiancee is going to join soon, too! The only thing to keep in mind is it's definitely more expensive than the average gym in the area, but for the walkability, structure & culture, it's worth it for me.

Lucija Calic: Moved recently to the US and this place made me feel at home in Seattle. Haven't done crossfit before Industrious but fell in love with it. The gym is great, you have your dedicate space to work out, the coaches and the atmosphere are amazing. So happy I found this place! Would recommend it to anyone who is interested in crossfit, you can see daily workouts on their Instagram page.

DEBORAH LEE: This is my forever crossfit gym. After 10 years in crossfit and several gyms, this one is home. The coaches are exceptional and so are the members. I get targeted direction on form and technique and enjoy the mix and caliber of the other crossfitters. My status as a senior adult and my frequent travel are no bar to comraderie. I am especially grateful for the support of the gym owners and their generous allowance of time away without penalty. 🙏

Nathan Brodell: is a phenomenal gym. When I joined, I was very cautious to do crossfit as I had never worked with a Barbell. However, the coaches are amazing and every calls there is focus on technique to make sure all of the athletes are safe.The community is also something special! Monica Davis: Started here July 2023, & I couldn't be happier. I attend personal training classes 2x a week & regular WOD classes 2x a week. I've been doing CrossFit since 2007 and this box has the best programming, by far. My results are incredible. After being on a 5 year hiatus from CrossFit, I was worried about my performance and discipline but everyone at this box, coaches & members, are the best group of humans on the planet. Instantly I felt right at home. ECCF is easily the best part of my day. The box is cozy, like working out at home in your garage. They have a great merch section filled with shirts, snacks, recovery drinks & coffee. They truly care about the members and it shows. Outside of the everyday WOD, the coaches take personal time and host member community building events, like Happy Hour's, CrossFit Throwdowns, all member bonding experiences. I've made some awesome friendships with people just like me. I even brought in a close friend, totally new to CrossFit, who had a great experience and signed up for a membership the same day. Thank you ECCF, you brought me back to life. If you're new to CrossFit or an OG, or even just a drop-in please give ECCF a visit. You won't be disappointed.

From the day I joined, every member and coach made an effort to get to know me and I quickly developed close friendships. Alex Maloney: Great coaches and workouts! You never know what the workout is for the day so it kept me from backing out and skipping any days. Ro is only coach I worked with, but he’s fantastic at ensuring proper technique, keeping you motivated throughout the entire workout and making your legs jello. I had 2 shoulder surgeries so modifications and progression of my strength was my main concern when starting at this gym. It only took a MONTH for us working at it for me to get 25lbs over my head for the first time in 2 years. If you put in the work, you will see results!

Girish Shekhar: during this period. The coaches are great, they are friendly and they keep you motivated through the class. Despite being in a group class the coaches monitor your form and correct you in case you go wrong. I've been making progress with my fitness goals feel more healthier after I've joined them.SSP is not just a gym, its a community. Highly recommended if you're looking for a gym.Covid update : They make sure to keep masks on during workout. Enough space between stations and you get your own equipment during the workout. Sanitization available at each station. Outdoor workouts if you aren't comfortable inside as well as virtual. They have adapted to the situation very well to keep you safe and fit.
