houssam nassif: My daughter and I are taking dance classes with Gino, and we are having a blast. Gino is very relatable, making the class super fun. He picks engaging choreographies, while taking input from the class. So well so that my daughter now choreographs dances at home. The academy offers various classes for adults and kids. Kids classes go beyond mere dancing, and serve as personality building opportunities.

Reinier, Daniela, and all of the instructors create the most welcoming dance community. Their instruction is in English and Spanish. Stephanie Lecovin: from Reiner and Daniela for the last two years. I've enjoyed every minute! They are professional and they challenge their students while keeping lessons light and fun. They've helped to create a wonderful community of salseros!I only wish I had more time to attend classes and socials. The opportunity is there to dive in....there are multiple classes every week, plus meet-ups at bars, clubs, restaurants, and outdoor venues to practice rueda and salsa.Reinier and Daniela also host an annual Cuban dance fest that is the best! It's usually in early July...I couldn't go this year, but I went in 2002 and it was phenomenal...with top instructors from around the country! I highly recommend their regular classes, the dance festival, and any workshops they host.

Reinier brings a wonderful balance of humor and high expectations to his teaching, modeled from his Cuban heritage, while Daniela brings positive, clear instruction, and a natural, impressive dance form to learn from.
John Miller: Reinier and Daniela Valdes are excellent instructors who really know how to teach, not just dance. Steps are introduced gradually working up to the complete routine. Even beginning dancers feel comfortable. I dance much better after every class. Their Seattle Cuban Dance Festival in July was the highlight of the year with excellent visiting dancing stars teaching and performing. The music and dancing at the fabulous Club Sur each night were very memorable. I highly recommend them!

Howard Javier Anderson: who has more authentic credentials then Reinier. Once you learn the basics at class, the real fun begins. They put on smartly organized parties and live bands meet ups and cruises and dance festivals throughout the year all designed to bring people together to have fun dancing. And the nice thing about it all ages are welcome that's something that seems to be unique this particular dance community. It's a wholesome vibe. With spice of course! O mejor dicho, con yuca, congri, y quizas algo de ron tambien porque no? En fin!CUBAN dance you say? I don't want anything to do with Cuba you're thinking? Don't worry, in all my years going to Clave Cubana events off and on, I've never heard them discuss politics. So leave your politics at the door. This is about having fun with a beautiful art form.OK, so that's my review of Clave Cubana, I hope it helps you to decide to go for it. Personally it's been a while since I've had to opportinity to attend some classes/events so I"m looking forward to getting back into it when I'm back in the near future. You should check them out! David Li: My wife and I had a fantastic time at the Seattle Cuban Dance Festival. We had heard a lot of good things about the festival from friends who had attended previously and the weekend more than exceeded our expectations: we learned lots in the classes and had so much fun at the nightly parties. Staying on campus at the University of Washington was convenient and a pleasant surprise! Would have been even better if the University staff had given us a more general orientation of the campus so that we wouldn’t have to discover things for ourselves. Very much looking forward to coming back next year and encouraging some of our friends to join us. A special thanks to Reinier, Daniela, Ciro and Liz!!!!

Tatiana Nikitina: I recently moved to the country and was looking for new friends to socialize and spend time with. I danced a bit of Rueda de Casino before I moved and I enjoyed it, so I was looking for that specific class. I was beyond excited when I had found Reinier and Daniella! They are not only great teachers, but also they are able to create such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the class. I met so many nice people there and even my best friend! It feels great to come to the classes every time. So if you’re looking for the same, it’d highly recommend La Clave Cubana school!
Google account: Responsible teachers, broad material, very positive attitude community. Things never get old. School offers different levels, as well as experimenting with different directions of learning. Teachers are really patient and also really want you to get material properly. Everyone. And so you can use it on next social or Rueda.A ton of complimentary events like Gas Works or parctica on Sundays. Or Socials after classes sometimes. I'm sure to become a part of the community feels like to be a part of family. It's hard to keep low key profile, but it's also possible.I really hope there will be more and more folks making more more circles of Cuban Rueda in Seattle. It's fun, it's healthy, it's very optimistic. 😎Agua!
Rustam Mamedov: An amazing place to learn Salsa.it is my favorite place for salsa in Seattle! Rainer and Daniella created a very friendly welcoming environment. Their style of dancing is different to other schools I have been to in Seattle . It’s very much Cuban salsa .very smooth and beautiful.they dance so well but also teach well!Also their progressions in class all make sense because they all are connected from class to class from lower level to higher level . I have learned a lot from them !!They teach at club sur which has plenty of space to spread out. There is plenty of parking at the area all the time .They also organize great social events with live bands . It is awesome!!

They are each highly skilled dancers with a wide breadth of knowledge with respect to Cuban dances and are above all patient, encouraging and effective teachers. Emily Cherkin: Creative Dance Center is a diamond in the rough. We have been taking our kids to classes here for nearly ten years, and have had nothing but positive experiences. Not only is the teaching staff phenomenal, but the inclusive, whole-brain, everyone-is-welcome approach is emulated in everything CDC does. I love the multi-age opportunities for the children in the form of Mosaic Junior Dance company and Kaleidoscope. My kids love the shows every Mother's Day weekend, which has become a family tradition. Unlike other dance studios, the emphasis here is on how brain and body are connected, expressing yourself through movement, and working creatively with other people of different ages and ability levels. This place is outstanding and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Laurent Gherardi: I’ve had two kids there attending since before they could walk. The “Brain Dance” and strong community is an amazing addition to raising the whole child. Self choreographing dance makes it creative and cooperative not competitive. They are inclusive of all bodies and minds. My kids’ balance and movement would not be the same without Creative Dance Center and their long standing tradition to be there for their development.

I have an extensive background in dance and have taken from many different dance teachers, and I am so impressed at how the teachers at Swing It Seattle make dance fun and accessible to people of all different levels. They create an environment of inclusivity for all. It is an uplifting experience for your mind, body and spirit!
Anna Beers: Swing It Seattle is amazing -- both their classes and their social dances. The Queer Lindy series is a particular draw, with amazing teachers and a great community. I've learned so much in so little time, and already made so many friends through the classes.
Bex Foresman: The Queer Swing Seattle class is DELIGHTFUL.Approachable for beginners, engaging for more experienced dancers, the instructors are kind & knowledgeable, and the students/crowd it draws are really friendly.There are social dances on Wed & Sat nights, too, so you can practice & grow your dancing community.Definitely worth the cost, I'm so glad I joined & plan on going back.

I started with no prior experience and have learned enough to be comfortable with social dancing in just a few months. Classes are taught in a fun, relaxed way and have a good balance of leads/follows. Instructors Mark and Katie are fun and enthusiastic teachers!

Graham Mills: I've been taking classes with Mark and Katie off and on for 13 years, and they are hands down the best teachers in Seattle by far. They create a fantastic environment to learn in, filled with positive energy, inclusion, humor, and safety. The lessons are broken down into easy to understand steps, and are covered at just the right pace to ensure you feel comfortable before taking on the next awesome move. When you take a class or go to a social dance at Swing It, you're getting introduced to the entire Swing It community, which is simply the best. It is filled with support, joy, friendship, and life long memories, not to mention some killer dance moves. Can't recommend this place enough.
Cliff Hamal: I’ve stumbled through swing classes here and elsewhere. Mark is very good. Very. One particular thing I appreciate A LOT is that he works into the lessons intervals with vagaries where the lead actually needs to lead. For me, this is hard. If one takes a lesson where both dancers are learning some steps, great, but often this skips over the need to LEAD through the steps because both know what’s coming. You look good in class, and then fail on the dance floor. Mark integrates leading in a very low key, but vital, way.
Koby Wilbanks: . Mark helps you understand the patterns of the dance and how moves fit together without getting too hypothetical or complicated. I never felt overwhelmed, but I always felt a positive encouragement to get outside my comfort zone. It is a pleasure to learn from someone as passionate and knowledgeable as Mark - you can tell he loves introducing his students to the joy of dance.I started with private dance lessons and then moved to the group class. I recommend trying both - private lessons give you the space to get comfortable without pressure and ask specific questions, but the group lessons help you learn from other students and get used to dancing with different partners.
Lauren Burke: We've tried other swing classes but Mark and Katie's classes are the first ones we've experienced where the music is really front and center. They are excellent teachers who make sure their students experience the fun and history of Lindy hop in a very encouraging environment. They have built a wonderful community of dancers and we are excited to have found them!
Veena Vijai: I’m now on my fourth series of Lindy Hop lessons with Mark and Katie. They are fabulous teachers who break down and scaffold complicated concepts in a way that’s easy to understand, and also makes for a supremely enjoyable experience as their student.In addition to their impressive technique, they emphasize being guided by “feeling” and knowing “how this feels” which has helped me develop a sense of intuition/responsiveness as a follower. It has allowed me to experience and have fun dancing with complete strangers as we “feel” our way through this common vocabulary, that has been imparted to us with the utmost care by Mark and Katie. This is altogether novel for me since I have no prior dance education/background.Watching them dance together is captivating and I hope to attain a fraction of their level of skill someday!You could not possibly ask for better teachers or a more welcoming and supportive environment to learn swing dancing.
P Parker: are delightful and kind and super skilled; their dancing and teaching are magical. The sense of belonging and joy for queer community is powerful. The stories and history connection to the lineage of Lindy Hop and its original dancers and teachers is beautiful and really unique from what I understand. The social dances are a blast, and I loved the workshop taught by a guest teacher recently.I go as often as I can -- and have felt welcomed in ways I didn't even know I longed to be welcomed. It has been such a sweet place for me to connect to myself as a dancer -- and to feel connection in community.
V L: Great instructors who make learning fun and easy to understand. Getting to classes from the Eastside is sometimes difficult but worth it, so much so I’ve signed up for more classes.

They also got us some amazing costumes that made me shine on stage. Every Tuesday I look forward to dancing for Bollywood songs, so much that I constantly remind my parents even when they forget sometimes that I have a dance class. And live2dance has productions that I’m always wondering if it’s real or not since their props are so cool! I haven’t really been to movie theaters

The owner Deepali really looks out for her people and the community is proactive to ensure the wellbeing of the people- be it for immigration related issues, family help or mental health. You’d think you can just shake off heat and attend a dance class here, maybe learn a dance form or two cuz there are like so many amazing instructors here or maybe just attend Bollycardio sessions and get fit right.But oh God, it’s a madhouse. Deepali has literally created a whole community here. It’s almost like saying this is Home for every Indian in Seattle. Now who wants to make friends, celebrate festivals with a group, dance out worries everyday, occasionally get on stage, perform and live the dream, have people to fall back to during tough times - I mean who wants to be a part of a FAMILY here right! I love that folks cheer each other on and laugh together in class- it’s a great sign of a healthy dance environment! MJQ: Our kids take tap classes here. Veronica and Mark have a created a studio that is not only a great place to learn dance, but also has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. During the pandemic, we've started remote classes, and they're working really well.

Alex Olson: Had my daughter’s 3rd birthday here, and it was great. The staff is SO accommodating and nice. One person helped us load presents into the car, and they were just so friendly with the kids. They handled 12 energetic toddlers amazingly. Would definitely recommend for a fun birthday party for kids!

Maggie Stapleton: . We had such a wonderful experience! We both consider ourselves *not dancers,* but the folks at Arthur Murray really helped us build our confidence and style as a couple. We got to work with multiple different instructors throughout the course of ~1 year, which had its pros and cons for sure. However, everyone was very friendly and took the time to get to know us. They really tailored the dance to what we wanted and felt comfortable with. We even got to do a mock first dance at the Arthur Murray Friday night dance party about a month before our wedding, and everyone there was so kind and supportive. Ultimately, our choreography came out fantastic! Our wedding guests were all talking about how smooth, confident, and professional we looked…someone even said we should go on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Brenna Pink Pampena: We love American Dance Institute. My daughter has been taking classes here for many years. She started in ballet, but is now in modern and hip hop. The teachers are fantastic. Dedicated and talented. I highly recommend this studio.
Laura Ingrao: Great spot for adult dance classes! I love that it’s one of the few spots that offers shuffling classes. I wish more people knew about them having shuffle so there could be more advanced sessions as well as the beginner.
Louisa Peck: I enjoyed ballet classes at ADI way back in the 1980s when I took my body's abilities for granted, but I also returned there in my 50s to revive my skills. The atmosphere was perfect for me. I got encouragement and expert guidance, but what I most remember is my excitement when a teacher told me I belonged in the intermediate class! I hope to go back to ADI in my 60s and try some jazz dance.

She teaches a TRUE beginners class. All too often I see teachers moving too quickly in beginner classes or assuming students have dance background and know terminology. Angie starts from the very beginning. Very impressed.

Kay Lee: The staff is the genuinely wonderful! They’re understanding and accommodating. They understand kids get sick and allow makeup classes. My daughter has had classes with a few different instructors and has loved them all. This is a place I refer others to all the time.
Olga Garmash: I am taking atdStudios adult classes since January 2023, specifically Intermediate/Advanced Ballet and Barre. I really like the school and the instructors, always have great time. When I join a new class, the atmosphere is very welcoming and instructors are always very kind and accommodating to my level. The school also has special events together with the classes, which are a lot of fun.
Lana Sturmer: Maygan and her team are both professional and fun! Both our daughters love their classes with Teacher Maygan and Teacher Sabine. ATD's administration is always efficient, kind and accomodating with life with kids. Highly recommend ATD for little ones and big ones to explore their inner dancers!

Sodelba Amador: This was my first class, here. I loved the class with Moire Hale! She was welcoming and sweet. Also, whatever headset she was using, I wish other instructors with microphones used the same! It was clear and not so loud. The class was fun and upbeat with good challenges. I am out of shape so my legs were shaking through some of the legwork. Love it.
Amina Mansour: I’ve been looking for a fun but also challenging dance fitness class and I finally found the perfect mix with Cliff Simmons’ Afrobeats/dance hall class. Cliff’s energy is amazing and the class is so much fun. I enjoyed my time and got a killer workout at the same time. I’m definitely coming back even though I live in Bellevue!
Sean Lannin: My daughters have attended ATD classes for several years, and we love the whole experience: the costumes performances on stage, their graceful practicing at home, and the friends they have made here with both teachers and students.
