VBIED 2004: I was trying to find a new dentist in the Tacoma area, and accidentally called sound dentistry and set up an appointment. as the appointment got close they sent me a reminder. So being fairly new to the area I looked up the address on google and to my surprise it was in Seattle. I figured what the heck and went anyway. This was the biggest mistake I could have made. The staff was wonderful and made me feel very relaxed through the entire appointment, Unfortunately with my job in south Tacoma it is almost impossible to set an appointment and be gone all day due to travel time, so I decided to find a dentist closer to home. I have not had good luck with dentists in the past and I feel it will be almost impossible to get the same experience and level of care that Sound provided.I encourage anyone that is looking for a dentist in the Seattle area to give them a call. You won't be disappointed. Thank you to the staff at Sound D and even after just one appointment you will be missed.

The hygenists are uniformly excellent, with very gentle technique, and the entire office is comfortable and well designed. We've had more complicated procedures, like crowns and implants, and these have also been very well done. Their in house crown machine will fabricate a crown while you wait, which saves cost, and two weeks of waiting time at other dentists. And much less expensive than at other dentists. A great experience overall!

Chris Gaul: I have been going to Dr. James Swanson in the U District for 30 years. In that time, he has done it all - cavities, crowns, caps - and I could not be happier. His best work was the caps on my two front teeth, which are perfect in every way - shape, color match and natural appearance. He really is a talent. In addition, his work is pain free; there is no pain while the work is being done and I have never had a sore mouth afterwards. What a difference from when I was young!I go in at least twice a year for a check-up and a cleaning. Those visits are always a pleasure because the office is relaxed and the staff know me so we chat and catch up. Dr. Swanson has surrounded himself with good people who care about teeth. In addition, Dr Swanson is an interesting guy and always fun to talk to.I recommend Dr. Swanson without reservation.

There are large air purifiers running nearby in the cubicles and my dental hygienist, Tash, was wearing a well fitted NIOSH mask as she worked on me. It is also nice that X-ray was also in the same space, so walking around the office is unnecessary. The doctor, Brigitte, was kind and explained anything necessary to be done. Hannah was so helpful in helping to figure out a brief insurance snafu and quite patient as well. In all, a very positive experience.
