Paul Carr: The friendly and helpful staff at the Magnolia Garden Center helped me select and plant flowers in several large flower pots in my yard. Plants went in early this spring and have been evolving beautifully ever since. Never had such success with potted flowers before.

E NS: and it just looks so good thank you.Besides that, the accessibility and parking are so easy in this neighborhood. If I ever moved far away, I would definitely have this be my go to nursery in the area. It might be a personal preference, but the shopping experience of going to a smaller place like this, versus a bigger place like Swanson’s feels way more relaxing. Some people have mentioned it is expensive but that’s most places are when you live in a city like this.. If you want affordable you’ll have to spring for Home Depot 😭- I reported Stephen Jones review to google

Will be my go to spot from now on!

Kelly J: I am in the middle of a huge landscaping project and love Fred Meyer Garden Center for the prices and variety, but there are no Fred Meyer stores near me. I drove out to Ballard which is a minimum hour long round trip for me, only to find the hours on Google were wrong. I thought I'd try Greenwood based on the online hours and although the hours for Greenwood were wrong too I'm so happy I stopped in! James, who is the gardener opened the center so we could stock up on our perennials and he was so incredibly helpful and turned around my experience. Such a helpful and knowledgeable FM team member who was a delight to talk to and knew a ton about plants. Thank you to James for delivering a 6 star experience in a 5 star world!

Kelly Phelps: I buy my soft rock phosphate from Walt's. It is the only "true' rock phosphate in town, and is always in stock no matter the season. TIP: For any tomato transplant trim the lower stem of all vegetation leaving about 3 inches of leaves at the top. Throw in a handfull of rock phosphate in a hole deep enough for 10 inches of stem plus the root ball, backfill with your choice of soil, and enjoy the your tomato plants.

Hayley Bridwell: Pros: overall great to just walk through if nothing else. Super helpful staff and a really great variety of plants.Cons: Plant provided with misleading or lack of information. I once had let staff know that the Rue on display tagged as "great for tea" from the distributor is, in fact, toxic to ingest. Just bought some baby's breath to find out that apparently it's a noxious weed in WA with no notice on how to manage it.I'll still shop here and be very particular on what I purchase, but I have concerns on the research/knowledge of staff and their distributors.

Dave Andresen: Stan and his supporting team at Beauty and the Bamboo are pure joy to interact with. Our family scheduled time to visit based on our research and looking for particular species that are rare and/or hard to find. Stan immediately engaged our pre-teen children around obsessions with both bamboo and hunting for rocks and crystals. We stayed for hours to chat through how to plant, propagate, and control the spread of several bamboo species, and left with five different types of bamboo to add to our 5 acre farm. I look forward to our next visit and would recommend a consult with Stan for anyone with an interest in bamboo.
