UW Medicine Neurology at UW Medical Center - Montlake: what do users think?

Superior Skill: Dr. Distad and medical team are great.

Brian Morseburg: Went in for an appointment but was late so had to reschedule.

Alyx Dela Cruz: I'm surprised by the bad reviews. It was a six month wait to get in, but I felt like the care I received was very good so that was no big deal. Dr. Oakley was beyond excellent and the staff have been very helpful. Would recommend.

diana chamberlain: wait times can be a bit obnoxious, but Dr. Oakley and the whole team is working very hard to provide every patient with superior levels of care. I am perfectly fine with waiting because I know decisions about my care won't be rushed and my symptoms won't be ignored or overlooked.

Sharon “Believes”: I visited this office for the first time recently. I have to say I was a little worried because of the reviews....Here is my experience: I have an adult dependent disabled son. He not only has a cognitive delay and high medical needs but also is going through a very difficult time right now with anxiety. I called to explain this to staff and got the best response. They were so very accommodating and compassionate.! The doctor even called the house a day prior to do the initial questions over the phone so my son would spend minimal time in office. Then they also said that I shouldn't stress if I had to cancel if Josh wasnt doing well that day. I cant tell you how much they put me at ease. So this far my experience is completely different then some of the other reviews.

wil mer425: I just met with Dr. Patricia Oaks at the UWMC Neurology Clinic today. I am so impressed at the high degree of professionalism and compassion by The staff and doctor. The staff was welcoming and put me right at ease. My wait was minimal. Dr. Oaks was so efficient and thoughrough. I truly felt the appointment was well with the 3 month wait. I am so impressed how the whole UWMC clinics work together so well as a team to help the whole person. I am looking forward to finding some answers to the issues I have had for more than a year. Highly recommended the staff at UWMC.

A Herber: Very pleased about the discussion with doctors and their excellent listening skills. Also happy with additional resources provided at initial appt that included physical activity, safety and managing well being

Swedish Neurology - Cherry Hill: what do users think?

C N: I’ve recently started seeing Dr.Ivanick. I’m a patient with complex neurological/ health issues that doctors have not been able to pin down. Dr. Ivanick is a good listener, thorough, and strait forward . I’m happy I found him.

Tierney Young: UpdateI finally was given a follow up appointment to go over my blood results and MRI with the Neurologist; although it was nearly 6 weeks after my MRI, this was an excellent appointment.Dr. Elena Robinson is the first doctor in my long medical journey to research all the conditions I had and their relation to one another, if there was a relation to be had. She really did try to understand why I was having so much pain that seemed to be coming from the Trigmenial Nerve. She provided detailed information and descriptions about how possible conditions occur and impact the trigmenial nerve and why I am feeling pain. She also went over my brain scan and briefly summarized what she saw. Most importantly, she gave me a path forward, even if it is not through her office. InitialDr. Elena Robinson entered the exam room, closed the door and told me there was no way I had trigmenial neuralgia, despite having the exact symptoms and pain associated with trigmenial neuralgia. She didn’t ask me a single question, introduce herself or even review my medical history before making that claim. My medical history includes multiple Auto-immune diseases starting at the age of 13. She also did not see that my mother was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 40 before telling me, age 43, I was too young to have Trigmenial Neuralgia or any disease that might have an affect on that nerve, like a brain tumor. I had to get angry and tell her she had a dismissive attitude and list off all of the auto-immune diseases I have had, the first one starting when I was 13 and speak over her to insert that my mother died of cancer at a very young age.Only after me getting angry did she start to ask me questions and explain why she took one look at me and assumed I could not have trigmenial neuralgia. She finally did an exam for MS and sent me for blood work and an MRI. The blood work proved her wrong. I do have something auto-immune related for which I am now being referred to a Rheumatologist, all of which is a common cause of trigmenial pain. She claims that the MRI on my brain is clear, but the sad part is, i do not believe her because of her dismissiveness in our first appointment. Its been 20 days since the MRI and her staff has continued to ignor my request for an appointment with her, and instead keep asserting that i need to see the Rheumatologist only. I want her to explain the MRI to me. Even if the MRI is clear, at this point, I need an explanation due to my lack of trust in the evaluation.

Rebecca Thompson: Prior to beginning my treatment at the Swedish headache clinic I was in one of the darkest places in my life. Over the course of the last two years while being chronically ill for the first time in my life....the medical system chewed me up and spit me out....I felt given up on.Dr. Spokoiny has literally saved my life by giving me hope that doctors can truly care and listen to a patients needs and concerns with objectivity, empathy and respect. Elizabeth not only believes in pharmaceutical intervention, but also lifestyle changes as well in order to treat her patients as a whole being...mind, body and spirit.Thank you Dr. Spokoiny!!!Also, DO NOT let a 1 star review based on reception errors shade your train of thought when doing research on your future or current provider!!I have had the same issue, but with a different department...EVERY Doctor I have seen at Swedish has been kind, compassionate and uplifting so a big shout out to Dr.Patel & Dr. Sniezek as well!!!

Mikayla Jackson: My client saw a great neurologist named Dr. Buck who took the time to get to know his needs. Really detailed and asked my client a lot of questions. He is a friendly and very knowledgeable neurologist. I highly recommend him!

Alex Peterson: for carpal tunnel where they use electrodes at various points on your arms to see how the nerve responds.ProsProcedure took about 30 minsThough uncomfortable, was manageable and the assistant conducting the test was great, explained everything and let me take breaks when neededConsDifficult to find - I walked all over looking for the office and some kind doctor in the sleep study dept. showed me how to find it. It’s in the east building - the one under the pin in Google maps.Cost was $530, insurance covered $450 - When I asked before the visit how much it would cost they could only guess between 300-500$

Noname: My new provider here is great, my old ones where not very Thorough back in 2019. I don’t have any current complaints about the new one dr Ivinick

Susan Martinson: Dr. Azeem and his team were very successful with my brain tumor removal. Swedish CCU were absolutely 💯on top of all my care, especially my night nurse JC. When I was moved to Acute care they were very friendly, my nurse Heather was very clear on what I can or cannot do. Their PT were helpul.and patient with me. I unfortunately cannot remember everyone's name but they all are terrific!

Loren Hagstrom: My father was recently admitted for a emergency surgery on his brain to remove a tumor. Dr. Patel and Dr. Henson's team quite literally saved my dad's life.My father had to stay in the ICU and regular inpatient rooms for 8 days, during covid19. No one was allowed to visit him or advocate for him for safety reasons. However, the staff went above and beyond to ensure the family was kept in the loop. We had access to nurses 24/7 to call and check-in, ask questions, you name it.The feedback from my dad's experience inside the hospital was the same. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This was a very scary situation for someone to be in alone, and they made sure to do whatever they could to put him at ease. The doctors, nurses, other staff, were very informed and helped us through the most difficult time we've ever experienced as a family. The neuro unit in particular is OUTSTANDING. We will continue to seek medical care from this facility.
