Lorraine Olson: We bought the most beautiful bamboo from here around 2012 for our old house in Federal Way & it turned to be the most beautiful way to disguise an ugly fence that now we’re going to drive from our new house in Aberdeen and really put in a few different varieties! They have the best selection and quality!

Their property is the most beautiful you will ever have the pleasure of visiting!! They have so much more than just every variety of bamboo known to man!! Pond plants, the largest gunneras you’ll ever find, hostas, palm trees, absolutely everything and if they don’t have it, they will help you find what you are looking for at another local nursery!! They clearly do what they love for a living and it shows in their customer service as well as their high quality plants and beautiful property!! Graham Miller: I can't imagine a more enjoyable way to buy exactly the bamboo plants that I needed. Even after I explained that I wasn't looking to spend much money the owner spent over an hour giving me a personal tour of the property, educating me on every different type of bamboo. His passion was infectious, and he was also intent on learning why I was buying bamboo and where I was planting it so that he could suggest the perfect plant. The bamboo I ended up buying was beautiful and very fairly priced. I cannot recommend Clinton Bamboo more - do yourself a favor and visit them for all your bamboo related needs. I know I'm returning sooner rather than later to look at their extensive collection of non-bamboo plants as well!

Ethan Hutson: Boy, they sure know their bamboo! Super friendly, knowledgeable, and honest. We left with two pots of clumping Rufa bamboo. I was thinking we might need twice as much, but they were so honest and asked about the details of how we wanted to plant them and the size of the area, etc. They told us we would be purchasing way too many. I love working with honest people who aren't in business just for the money. You can really tell they love helping others find just the right plant for their needs and they love what they do. Another awesome business worthy of my time writing a review!
Chio Saeteurn: We had a really good experience with Clinton Bamboo. They were so knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. We purchased 5 clumping bamboos that didn't work out. Upon explaining our circumstances, they refunded us the money & we repurchased other species with their advice that hopefully will work for us. We are likely going back this fall to get 2 more bamboo plants for the yard. We want to wait to see if the current 3 plants will work. Highly recommend!

Zoe Maris: I went to booSH as a bit of a last-minute plant run to try to cure some of my woe. I was looking for some hardy plants to add life to my dorm room. The person working there was super nice and showed me around the store and went into great detail about which plants were hard to kill. They really seemed passionate about their job! I also showed up close to closing, but I didn't feel rushed at all and had a great experience. The prices are good for the area as well. Overall, the person working there was really helpful/knowledgeable, the plants looked really healthy, and it was an affordable place to shop!

Angela Zhang: I love this addition to the CD. There is a huge variety of very healthy-looking plants, and accessible pricing. The owner is so friendly and clearly is dedicated to making houseplants accessible to as many people as possible, and was very patient in answering all of my questions about care for certain plants, etc. I also love that this particular corner of 23/Jackson has a lot of Black-owned businesses popping up. The only thing I will note is that due to its location I'm not sure that there is dedicated parking - I usually park by the old Starbucks/Walgreens and run over for a brief time, or the Amazon Fresh I think has parking too.

If I ever moved far away, I would definitely have this be my go to nursery in the area. It might be a personal preference, but the shopping experience of going to a smaller place like this, versus a bigger place like Swanson’s feels way more relaxing. Some people have mentioned it is expensive but that’s most places are when you live in a city like this.. If you want affordable you’ll have to spring for Home Depot 😭- I reported Stephen Jones review to google

Dave Andresen: Stan and his supporting team at Beauty and the Bamboo are pure joy to interact with. Our family scheduled time to visit based on our research and looking for particular species that are rare and/or hard to find. Stan immediately engaged our pre-teen children around obsessions with both bamboo and hunting for rocks and crystals. We stayed for hours to chat through how to plant, propagate, and control the spread of several bamboo species, and left with five different types of bamboo to add to our 5 acre farm. I look forward to our next visit and would recommend a consult with Stan for anyone with an interest in bamboo.

I thought it may surprise them, they might enjoy themselves, and start to develop an appreciation of bamboo.Ultimately I visited Beauty and the Bamboo with my wife and nearly 4 year old in tow and, dear readers, it was magical.Stan is an absolute gem. He was so friendly and welcoming and he was immediately engaging with my daughter. Once inside Stan led us on an adventure through this bamboo wonderland that has been hidden in plain sight but blocks away. My wife and daughter had a blast and have been talking about bamboo ever since.We left with several species of bamboo I had been looking for. I never once felt pressured and his prices were exceedingly fair. I am thrilled with my purchases and I look forward to any future needs so that I may go back and spend more time with Stan and this slice of forest he has nurtured.

He ended up giving me a seedling that is not longer available to buy that originates from Chile! The bamboo looked lush and healthy. We went to Swanson’s the next day to look at Bamboo but this place takes the cake and the plants are obviously taken care of!This is the place to buy bamboo in Seattle!

When we inquired, we were told that, "everybody goes to Stan the Bamboo Man, so we don't carry much." So, that's what we did. It's been over a year and our bamboo is healthy and happy. Now, it's time for more and back to Stan we go. We can't recommend him enough. He's friendly, knowledgeable and has reasonable prices. Go see him!

Toad Reaver: The Bamboo Collective is a beautiful bamboo garden. The owner, John, is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He helped plan the planting of a major landscaping project that I undertook recently. John also made a special order of bamboo, and even provided a rough diagram for planting it. I look forward to seeing John again when I pick up my order. I think he might be just as excited about our bamboo project than we are. I look forward to sharing pictures with him as our bamboo matures into our landscaping goal.

We explained what we were looking for and he showed us around and the numerous varieties he had to offer. It was breathtaking! Evelyn KM: So happy I found this place! I wanted to put in bamboo as a privacy screen in my yard but didn't know where to start. Jon was super helpful and informative throughout the process - through responding to my initial email inquiry, to chatting over the phone, to patiently showing me all their plants at the nursery. He even recommended the type of planter I could use and how to plant it. A genuine, knowledgable, and friendly guy, and I will be going back for any future bamboo needs.

Jon, the owner of Bamboo Collective, quickly emailed me back with answers to all my questions. He immediately became my source for everything bamboo as I was prepping to add bamboo to our yard. We finally were able to stop by his nursery yesterday and purchase 3 different strands of bamboo. We were more than impressed with Jon, his nursery, and his vast knowledge of bamboo. All of my plants are healthy despite my inexperience.He has someone who helps drop off bamboo too, so that's very helpful for those without a truck. You can definitely fit some bendier varieties into a small sedan though. I've transported three pots of bamboo in my Elantra!

THAT meant they are ready to help us!!! So we sent a message asking for help to fill a "checklist" of growing habits, size, and lighting. We also asked for something established. We received a reply from Jon who not only had an incredible recommendation, but took it a step further and sent us a video of the exact plant he had recommended AND the price! Just goes to show how Indoor Sun Shoppe is very reasonably priced compared to a lot of other small plant shops these days! I also appreciated that they didn’t charge a repotting fee when you buy a pot with your plant-which is kind of a rarity these days. Most places add an additional fee for that. Will be my go to spot from now on!
