Reinier, Daniela, and all of the instructors create the most welcoming dance community. Their instruction is in English and Spanish. Stephanie Lecovin: from Reiner and Daniela for the last two years. I've enjoyed every minute! They are professional and they challenge their students while keeping lessons light and fun. They've helped to create a wonderful community of salseros!I only wish I had more time to attend classes and socials. The opportunity is there to dive in....there are multiple classes every week, plus meet-ups at bars, clubs, restaurants, and outdoor venues to practice rueda and salsa.Reinier and Daniela also host an annual Cuban dance fest that is the best! It's usually in early July...I couldn't go this year, but I went in 2002 and it was phenomenal...with top instructors from around the country! I highly recommend their regular classes, the dance festival, and any workshops they host.

John Miller: Reinier and Daniela Valdes are excellent instructors who really know how to teach, not just dance. Steps are introduced gradually working up to the complete routine. Even beginning dancers feel comfortable. I dance much better after every class. Their Seattle Cuban Dance Festival in July was the highlight of the year with excellent visiting dancing stars teaching and performing. The music and dancing at the fabulous Club Sur each night were very memorable. I highly recommend them!

Howard Javier Anderson: who has more authentic credentials then Reinier. Once you learn the basics at class, the real fun begins. They put on smartly organized parties and live bands meet ups and cruises and dance festivals throughout the year all designed to bring people together to have fun dancing. And the nice thing about it all ages are welcome that's something that seems to be unique this particular dance community. It's a wholesome vibe. With spice of course! O mejor dicho, con yuca, congri, y quizas algo de ron tambien porque no? En fin!CUBAN dance you say? I don't want anything to do with Cuba you're thinking? Don't worry, in all my years going to Clave Cubana events off and on, I've never heard them discuss politics. So leave your politics at the door. This is about having fun with a beautiful art form.OK, so that's my review of Clave Cubana, I hope it helps you to decide to go for it. Personally it's been a while since I've had to opportinity to attend some classes/events so I"m looking forward to getting back into it when I'm back in the near future. You should check them out! David Li: My wife and I had a fantastic time at the Seattle Cuban Dance Festival. We had heard a lot of good things about the festival from friends who had attended previously and the weekend more than exceeded our expectations: we learned lots in the classes and had so much fun at the nightly parties. Staying on campus at the University of Washington was convenient and a pleasant surprise! Would have been even better if the University staff had given us a more general orientation of the campus so that we wouldn’t have to discover things for ourselves. I danced a bit of Rueda de Casino before I moved and I enjoyed it, so I was looking for that specific class. I was beyond excited when I had found Reinier and Daniella! They are not only great teachers, but also they are able to create such a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the class. I met so many nice people there and even my best friend! It feels great to come to the classes every time. So if you’re looking for the same, it’d highly recommend La Clave Cubana school!
Google account: Responsible teachers, broad material, very positive attitude community. Things never get old. School offers different levels, as well as experimenting with different directions of learning. Teachers are really patient and also really want you to get material properly. Everyone. And so you can use it on next social or Rueda.A ton of complimentary events like Gas Works or parctica on Sundays. Or Socials after classes sometimes. I'm sure to become a part of the community feels like to be a part of family. It's hard to keep low key profile, but it's also possible.I really hope there will be more and more folks making more more circles of Cuban Rueda in Seattle. Rustam Mamedov: An amazing place to learn Salsa.it is my favorite place for salsa in Seattle! Rainer and Daniella created a very friendly welcoming environment. Their style of dancing is different to other schools I have been to in Seattle . It’s very much Cuban salsa .very smooth and beautiful.they dance so well but also teach well!Also their progressions in class all make sense because they all are connected from class to class from lower level to higher level . I have learned a lot from them !!They teach at club sur which has plenty of space to spread out. There is plenty of parking at the area all the time .They also organize great social events with live bands . It is awesome!!

Abhishek Lal: Hands down the best Salsa/Bachata studio in the Seattle area for social or performance dancing. Michael and Kelly are both great dancers themselves and they are genuinely interested in helping you learn. The group classes themselves will expose you to a steep learning curve.While you might be thrown off by the absence of a "formal syllabus" listed on a page, simply try out the classes for 3-4 months to grasp the teaching style. The lessons are well structured and you will learn a wider variety of dance moves here than at some of the other studios where progress is much slower. You will learn much faster here simply because the teachers don't hold you back artificially just to get you to buy more lessons. A certain competitor which is a franchised dance studio has a notorious reputation for wasting students' time and money - I would go with Suenos de Salsa any day!.I was never pushed to take private lessons here but did so of my own accord to work on finer aspects of the dances I was interested in.100% worth the time, money and effort!

Parking around the area is sometimes difficult, but the Capitol Hill light rail station is nearby! It's a nice area, very walkable, and it's lovely to open the windows in the ballroom to get fresh air. Great people, great drinks, great classes and a great environment!

Maggie Stapleton: . We had such a wonderful experience! We both consider ourselves *not dancers,* but the folks at Arthur Murray really helped us build our confidence and style as a couple. We got to work with multiple different instructors throughout the course of ~1 year, which had its pros and cons for sure. However, everyone was very friendly and took the time to get to know us. They really tailored the dance to what we wanted and felt comfortable with. We even got to do a mock first dance at the Arthur Murray Friday night dance party about a month before our wedding, and everyone there was so kind and supportive. Ultimately, our choreography came out fantastic! Our wedding guests were all talking about how smooth, confident, and professional we looked…someone even said we should go on ‘Dancing With the Stars’

Dion Horn: I have been having the time of my life taking Lindy Hop dance classes at Swing It Seattle for the past few years and I encourage anyone from beginner to advanced dancers to come check out what they have to offer. I have an extensive background in dance and have taken from many different dance teachers, and I am so impressed at how the teachers at Swing It Seattle make dance fun and accessible to people of all different levels. They create an environment of inclusivity for all. It is an uplifting experience for your mind, body and spirit!
Anna Beers: Swing It Seattle is amazing -- both their classes and their social dances. The Queer Lindy series is a particular draw, with amazing teachers and a great community. I've learned so much in so little time, and already made so many friends through the classes.
Bex Foresman: The Queer Swing Seattle class is DELIGHTFUL.Approachable for beginners, engaging for more experienced dancers, the instructors are kind & knowledgeable, and the students/crowd it draws are really friendly.There are social dances on Wed & Sat nights, too, so you can practice & grow your dancing community.Definitely worth the cost, I'm so glad I joined & plan on going back.
Mary Whitney Thomas: Swing It Seattle is a great place to start or continue your Lindy Hop dancing journey! I started with no prior experience and have learned enough to be comfortable with social dancing in just a few months. Classes are taught in a fun, relaxed way and have a good balance of leads/follows. Instructors Mark and Katie are fun and enthusiastic teachers!

Jake Brintzenhofe: SO MUCH FUN. You can spend $100 covering most of the check for dinner, or you can use it on 5 weeks of classes where you'll have a good time, meet new people, and learn to dance.I'm through the intro class and so excited to take more classes!

Graham Mills: I've been taking classes with Mark and Katie off and on for 13 years, and they are hands down the best teachers in Seattle by far. They create a fantastic environment to learn in, filled with positive energy, inclusion, humor, and safety. The lessons are broken down into easy to understand steps, and are covered at just the right pace to ensure you feel comfortable before taking on the next awesome move. When you take a class or go to a social dance at Swing It, you're getting introduced to the entire Swing It community, which is simply the best. It is filled with support, joy, friendship, and life long memories, not to mention some killer dance moves. Can't recommend this place enough.
Cliff Hamal: I’ve stumbled through swing classes here and elsewhere. Mark is very good. Very. One particular thing I appreciate A LOT is that he works into the lessons intervals with vagaries where the lead actually needs to lead. For me, this is hard. If one takes a lesson where both dancers are learning some steps, great, but often this skips over the need to LEAD through the steps because both know what’s coming. You look good in class, and then fail on the dance floor. Mark integrates leading in a very low key, but vital, way.
Koby Wilbanks: . Mark helps you understand the patterns of the dance and how moves fit together without getting too hypothetical or complicated. I never felt overwhelmed, but I always felt a positive encouragement to get outside my comfort zone. It is a pleasure to learn from someone as passionate and knowledgeable as Mark - you can tell he loves introducing his students to the joy of dance.I started with private dance lessons and then moved to the group class. I recommend trying both - private lessons give you the space to get comfortable without pressure and ask specific questions, but the group lessons help you learn from other students and get used to dancing with different partners.
Lauren Burke: We've tried other swing classes but Mark and Katie's classes are the first ones we've experienced where the music is really front and center. They are excellent teachers who make sure their students experience the fun and history of Lindy hop in a very encouraging environment. They have built a wonderful community of dancers and we are excited to have found them!
Veena Vijai: I’m now on my fourth series of Lindy Hop lessons with Mark and Katie. They are fabulous teachers who break down and scaffold complicated concepts in a way that’s easy to understand, and also makes for a supremely enjoyable experience as their student.In addition to their impressive technique, they emphasize being guided by “feeling” and knowing “how this feels” which has helped me develop a sense of intuition/responsiveness as a follower. It has allowed me to experience and have fun dancing with complete strangers as we “feel” our way through this common vocabulary, that has been imparted to us with the utmost care by Mark and Katie. This is altogether novel for me since I have no prior dance education/background.Watching them dance together is captivating and I hope to attain a fraction of their level of skill someday!You could not possibly ask for better teachers or a more welcoming and supportive environment to learn swing dancing.
P Parker: are delightful and kind and super skilled; their dancing and teaching are magical. The sense of belonging and joy for queer community is powerful. The stories and history connection to the lineage of Lindy Hop and its original dancers and teachers is beautiful and really unique from what I understand. The social dances are a blast, and I loved the workshop taught by a guest teacher recently.I go as often as I can -- and have felt welcomed in ways I didn't even know I longed to be welcomed. It has been such a sweet place for me to connect to myself as a dancer -- and to feel connection in community.
V L: Great instructors who make learning fun and easy to understand. Getting to classes from the Eastside is sometimes difficult but worth it, so much so I’ve signed up for more classes.

Mark & Katie took the time to connect with us, making the experience feel personalized and encouraging.I loved the opportunity to switch between lead and follow in the Lindy 1&2 classes and Queer Lindy on Thursdays. I enjoyed the playful Lindy 3 & Charleston series.. It was all so addictive and the dancers created a supportive environment where we celebrated each other's progress.If you're seeking a dance studio that's more than just dance – a place where you'll grow and feel like you are part of a community – I highly recommend Swing It Seattle. Ayansh Khadabadi: . They were so encouraging and had amazing songs we could jump twirl and dance on, even when I can be quite stubborn on when I want to dance. They also got us some amazing costumes that made me shine on stage. Every Tuesday I look forward to dancing for Bollywood songs, so much that I constantly remind my parents even when they forget sometimes that I have a dance class. And live2dance has productions that I’m always wondering if it’s real or not since their props are so cool! I haven’t really been to movie theaters

If you’re new to Seattle or been here since sometime or just visiting, do make sure to take out some and attend a class to experience it yourself! Deepali Garg: Live2Dance is home. Period.First the logical review: There are plenty of classes to choose from for all dance levels and the classes are reasonably priced. The instructors are friendly and non-judgemental, they really care about the students' progress and it shows.Now the emotional part: This school and its people are an inclusive family. The owner Deepali really looks out for her people and the community is proactive to ensure the wellbeing of the people- be it for immigration related issues, family help or mental health. Going to classes and being a part of the showcase has been therapeutic for countless people like me and we have found a home in Seattle thanks to this lovely studio in SLU. For anyone who feels like they don't belong or are having trouble finding their people, this is the place. Come and experience it for yourself! But remember- there's no going back because that's the magic of the studio.

Nitika Bawa: Liar - Live2Dance is a very deceiving name you see. You’d think you can just shake off heat and attend a dance class here, maybe learn a dance form or two cuz there are like so many amazing instructors here or maybe just attend Bollycardio sessions and get fit right.But oh God, it’s a madhouse. Deepali has literally created a whole community here. It’s almost like saying this is Home for every Indian in Seattle. Now who wants to make friends, celebrate festivals with a group, dance out worries everyday, occasionally get on stage, perform and live the dream, have people to fall back to during tough times - I mean who wants to be a part of a FAMILY here right! I’d say if you’re only looking to shake a leg, book a class at your own risk! I’m practically stuck here for good, you be wise!
