She offered to come out to my home if I needed but after calling my husband I was able to get the measurements we needed. We selected the 616 deluxe with Ember-glo large gas insert. Jeff Scherer with Rich’s then handled us from start to finish with the purchase and the install, and we worked closely with PEAK PROPANE with providing us a 100 gallon tank., and they were incredible too.Jeff put us in touch with his Fireplace installer Ignacio. He is the very best in the business and I would recommend that you ask for him to install anything that you would buy from Jeff and Rich’s. he’s amazing!So to recap, we dealt with the owner of the company, Jeff from Rich’s for the home, the PEAK PROPANE company and the Fireplace installer Ignacio. Four separate people and they worked with me as if they were one! Even with Covid and back order delays, Everything just went so perfect! They were even able to get everything up and running before Christmas Eve!As you sometimes know, when you’re dealing with multiple people, it can become a nightmare, this was not the case. Thank you so much to everybody involved.

Since my GC had never done framing for a fireplace, we had many questions, and they were always happy to answer them. They even sent someone to double-check all the details before the unit was formally installed.A special shoutout to the installation team, who were extremely professional and responsible!! Our old pipes were very difficult to remove, but they managed it successfully. Even six months after the final payment/installation, they were willing to come back and help us install trim and a screen. I feel the entire store, from the owner to the staff and the installation team, is very trustworthy.

James Eddy: Bought a fireplace over 20 years ago from them and needed some replacement parts. They were able to get me factory direct replacement parts at a very reasonable price that I couldn't find on Amazon. I know hard to believe 🤣 The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and even made the follow up phone calls. I can see why they've been in business for so long. John Frear: It turns out this part is extremely hard to find. It's normally sold as part of a liner kit. I tried furnace specialists, hvac parts suppliers, fireplace businesses, hardware stores, and it was looking like I might need to hire a sheet metal manufacturing company to cut and build to my size specification, which I have been told would have a steep price tag. I'm glad I tried one more fireplace business...Guy seriously came to the rescue. Not only did he provide the part I need, he used his tools to cut and shape the part so it fit on short notice. He had an 18"x18" top plate but he cut it into the 12"x12" I need and he gave it a folded edge so it fits my chimney securely, and it uses welds to hold the chimney crown in place

Eric: Cleaned and service our stove with great detail.
Bob Austin: Our pellet stove quit working and the store we purchased It from was having staffing issues "like everywhere" to get a service person out.Custom Hearth and Fireplace was able to get a service person out to look at it and order the required parts. We are waiting to hear about a repair time.They are very responsive and are doing everything that they can to get things working.Looking forward to the warmth again.

The removal and installation team, led by Zach, was highly professional, efficient, knowledgeable, and skilled, leaving a very clean worksite. Bob Greenberg: I called about purchasing a wireless thermostat control for our propane stove after a service tech from another shop had told us that we needed one because the wires connecting our existing thermostat to the stove were defective. The sales man at Custom Hearth walked me through a simple test that showed that the wiring was all right and that all we needed was an inexpensive replacement thermostat. I came by to purchase one from them, but they didn't have what we wanted in stock, so he directed me to another source. All in all, Custom Hearth saved us almost two hundred dollars and got nothing in return for their excellent service, other than this favorable review.

The stove was installed a week ago by a couple of very professional and helpful installers, and we've been completely happy with it. Kayla Eland: Excellent work rebuilding an old brick chimney
Heather Dolin: I'm a real estate broker and deal with contractors regularly. Excel was incredible; from start to finish. They got back to me immediately; were able to squeeze me in quickly, their work was phenomenal, on time and a reasonable price. You could tell that they cared. I don't often rave about contractors but they were so good it was worth writing this review. Don't hesitate to hire them!
todd thomas: It was a pleasure to work with Excel Chimney from start to finish. They were clear upfront when they could come inspect our chimneys and give us a quote. The quote came in under their estimated time frame, just a couple days later. We trusted the great reviews here and hired them for the job. Our two chimneys were both in rough shape, one needed some brick rebuilding and both needed new capping/flashing. Even on our steep roof, the team was safe and got the work done in the exact estimated time. And our fireplace no longer leaks, so I'm a very happy customer. Thanks so much.

Yvonne Williams: My 85 year old chimney was crumbling and needed so much help. When it rained outside, it rained into my fireplace. Jeremy and his crew rebuilt it from the roofline up and tuck pointed from the roofline down. The flashing was redone, a new cleanout door installed and also a new flue liner. They were able to clean my bricks and reuse them. It's SO pretty now!! I appreciated their communication with what they were doing each day, how long it would take, and what rooms they would need access to. They were very willing to answer every question. Jeremy wore his mask inside, took off his boots, and made sure the jobsite was clean when they were entirely finished. I did end up waiting a few months for a start date, but it was worth the wait. When youspend money on a larger project you want to love it and I LOVE MY "NEW" CHIMNEY!!! As a side note this company was more affordable than the 3 other estimates I got. Thank you Excel Chimney.
