Heather Shults: branch didn't have enough of what I needed. There was a small parking lot that seemed potentially shared with the other businesses. Had to take a lot of turns to get to the store.I asked for help and one of the workers immediately walked with me to help find what I needed. I'd brought a sample of hardwood from my house so he matched it to the wood and then started picking out enough for the amount of space I had. He was really helpful and made sure I had the exact amount I needed.I didn't get to explore the store since I got there towards closing, but it looked gorgeous - lots of older things and antique things. I feel like I could get lost browsing around.

Egirl Kalamanani: Great concept and I really like the name. Been here several times to find treasures to repurpose. I've purchased parts of a chandelier and turned them into garden art. Everything sold here is useful for original purpose, too. They do a really good job organizing even though it's a bit tight getting around. Not a good place for bringing kiddos that can't keep their hands out of things and like to run around.

Bob Austin: Our pellet stove quit working and the store we purchased It from was having staffing issues "like everywhere" to get a service person out.Custom Hearth and Fireplace was able to get a service person out to look at it and order the required parts. We are waiting to hear about a repair time.They are very responsive and are doing everything that they can to get things working.Looking forward to the warmth again.

Bob Greenberg: I called about purchasing a wireless thermostat control for our propane stove after a service tech from another shop had told us that we needed one because the wires connecting our existing thermostat to the stove were defective. The sales man at Custom Hearth walked me through a simple test that showed that the wiring was all right and that all we needed was an inexpensive replacement thermostat. I came by to purchase one from them, but they didn't have what we wanted in stock, so he directed me to another source. All in all, Custom Hearth saved us almost two hundred dollars and got nothing in return for their excellent service, other than this favorable review.

John Frear: It turns out this part is extremely hard to find. It's normally sold as part of a liner kit. I tried furnace specialists, hvac parts suppliers, fireplace businesses, hardware stores, and it was looking like I might need to hire a sheet metal manufacturing company to cut and build to my size specification, which I have been told would have a steep price tag. I'm glad I tried one more fireplace business...Guy seriously came to the rescue. Not only did he provide the part I need, he used his tools to cut and shape the part so it fit on short notice. He had an 18"x18" top plate but he cut it into the 12"x12" I need and he gave it a folded edge so it fits my chimney securely, and it uses welds to hold the chimney crown in place

Anne Robinson: Cressy has helped with two garage door emergencies that I've had. The second emergency happened on a Sunday. Suddenly it looked like my garage door was going to fall off. They had a technician at my house within an hour of my making the call for help. Cody was incredibly nice, very professional, and repaired my garage door efficiently and completely. This was truly some of the best service I've ever received. My garage door actually motor now goes up like it's brand new. He even managed to quiet the thing down, which is fantastic! We selected the 616 deluxe with Ember-glo large gas insert. Jeff Scherer with Rich’s then handled us from start to finish with the purchase and the install, and we worked closely with PEAK PROPANE with providing us a 100 gallon tank., and they were incredible too.Jeff put us in touch with his Fireplace installer Ignacio. He is the very best in the business and I would recommend that you ask for him to install anything that you would buy from Jeff and Rich’s. he’s amazing!So to recap, we dealt with the owner of the company, Jeff from Rich’s for the home, the PEAK PROPANE company and the Fireplace installer Ignacio. Four separate people and they worked with me as if they were one! Even with Covid and back order delays, Everything just went so perfect! They were even able to get everything up and running before Christmas Eve!As you sometimes know, when you’re dealing with multiple people, it can become a nightmare, this was not the case. Brian Szuter: Monroe Fireplace did an amazing job completely replacing our wood burning firebox, with a new gas firebox, including doing all the electrical, adding a gas line, and redoing the tile facade of the fireplace. We couldn't be happier with the result - they did amazing work.6 month update: Monroe did an excellent job with warranty calibrations, and even comp'ed our first annual cleaning - I couldn't be happier with Monroe's service and professionalism. I would highly recommend them.

He was very professional and knew exactly what was needed to get my fireplace working.I highly recommend them for any repair work you will need.

Cj Cook: While smoking a brisket, the auger went out on my pellet smoker. I called Monroe fireplace at exactly 5:30 not knowing that is when they closed. In a frantic panic, I messaged their Facebook, heart pounding informing them of my situation, I recieved a response at 5:41 with a personal number. Let me tell you...this man is a dang hero, stayed 20 minutes later to make sure I can finish my smoke. I rushed down there, and he had the assembly at the desk waiting for me, like an absolute super hero. My hat is off to you good sir.

David Phillips: Monroe Fireplace did a great job fixing a wood stove issue I was not willing to tackle. I called them on Thursday and scheduled for the following Tuesday which is incredible as it is October. There Service Rate was VERY reasonable, Tyler and his partner were on time and knowledgeable. This will be my first call when I replace my stove someday. Well Done!
Tyller Boomgaarden: When we were looking for ways to maintain our homes fire place, we wanted to shop local. The reason being we purchased some fire pokers and equipment and found the paint was burning, as well nobody was giving us any advice. When we came to Monroe Fireplace, Inc we were happy and pleased with the knowledgable staff and the selection of goods. Although we weren't new to maintenance on a fireplace we were new to purchase equipment for our fire place. Although the prices were more expensive then the equipment we purchased from somewhere else that was smelly when used, our equipment got from here has stood the test of time. My kettle looks like it was from day one, my thermal fan has been kicking for years, and my pokers look just as they did when I bought them, even after very heavy use. If you've got a fire place and aren't sure where to go, I think this is an excellent place for you.

Nancie Boccio: Michelle waited on us and she stayed over an hour after closing to help us. She is absolutely the best store manager/sales person I have ever encountered. She knew everything about every product, was pleasant to deal with and totally customer focused. I just don't see the attention to the customer like this anymore and it was such a joy to deal with her. In addition she was efficient, and listened to what we wanted and was quick to figure out measurements. It took her 10 minutes to write up a significant amount of items and dollar value and her follow up was exceptional.I would definitely shop at Rich's again because of her incredible service!

It was a wonderful experience and we will go back to Rich's for all of our outdoor home needs.

While other shops won't touch it since it wasn't a brand they sell, Rich's was able to locate a user manual and when I couldn't do it myself, was able to come and service the unit. And when she wanted to replace an old log set in her bedroom, they came and measured the space to find the perfect unit and arranged for a flawless installation.

Mark Wilson: Jay and his assistant did extensive work on the chimney and fireplace of our 1910 house in West Seattle. They did excellent work, quickly, were very reasonably priced. There were no hidden charges or surprises. They removed our broken firebox and built a new one out of new fire bricks. They also added a new chimney cap and damper and swept the chimney soot clean. I highly recommend the Mad Hatter!

My appointment was booked within a very reasonable time frame and they showed up exactly as expected. Their work was great - the sweep did a terrific job, answered numerous questions, pointed out a few problems for me to know about and didn't try to upsell me. Charges were exactly as expected. I may need some future work done and I plan to call them again.
